SUCCESS T14s Gen 3 i7 1265u | full graphics acceleration in 26.7.2!
Managed to get the latest tahoe running on my unsupported igpu! almost everything worked just fine.
The kext i used (https://github.com/JulioNectar/Hackintosh-XPS13Plus-IrisXe-Tahoe) was optimized for 26.7.1, which could explain the cursor stutters i had, although i'm not the only one having this issue
Not having acceleation during setup is painful but i'd say it was worth a try! could see this coming a long way

IT BOOTS! (WIP) Acceleration - Thinkpad E15 Gen 4 - 1235U
Thanks to the legend, u/War_Obvious, I was able to refactor his Tiger Lake XPS13 repo to support the 1235U Iris Xe in my Thinkpad E14 Gen 4 i5.
What works:
GPU - Full Acceleration and Metal
Wifi - Airportitlwm kext supported
Blueooth
Webcam
Keyboard,Trackpad: Full support
What doesn't work:
Audio - Currently trying to make my own driver
GPU Artefacts - When loading preview, images are blocky with patches missing, unable to adjust brightness and apply night shift, no sleep etc. There's instructions for some of this on the repo so it's just a case of getting around to it.
iCloud - Unable to sign in and verify - Low priority for now but likely just a simple SMBIOS fix.
Will share my EFI repo once it's up!

HELP Poor macOS 26 Performance on i9-14900HX Hackintosh - Nearly 50% Lower CPU Scores Than Windows
Hi everyone,
I'm running macOS 26 on my Lenovo Legion 5i using OpenCore, 1401, and NullMoth. I'm experiencing noticeably worse performance than on Windows 11, not just in benchmarks but also during basic everyday tasks.
The main issue: macOS feels sluggish despite my hardware. Opening System Settings for the first time can take several seconds, settings icons and sections sometimes load slowly, and opening Terminal can briefly trigger the spinning rainbow cursor. The overall UI responsiveness feels far below what I would expect from an i9-14900HX.
Audio and video stuttering have already been resolved after switching browsers and updating macOS and the drivers. However, the general UI sluggishness and low CPU benchmark scores remain.
System specifications
Component| Details
Laptop| Lenovo Legion 5i 16IRX9 Gen 9
CPU| Intel Core i9-14900HX
GPU| NVIDIA 4060 Laptop, 8GB VRAM
RAM| 32GB DDR5 5600MHz
Storage| 1TB NVMe SSD
macOS| macOS 26.7.1 (Build 25G241)
Bootloader/setup| OpenCore + 1401 / NullMoth
NVIDIA driver| NullMoth 2.6.2
CPU benchmark comparison — Geekbench 7
Results from the same laptop running Windows 11 and macOS:
Test| Windows 11 | macOS 26
Single-Core| 2,509 | 1,145
Multi-Core| 19,330 | 9,915
These are substantial differences, and they seem consistent with the sluggish experience I'm getting in macOS.
GPU benchmark comparison — Geekbench
OS | GPU | Graphics API | Score
Windows 11 | 4060 Laptop | Vulkan | 94,108
macOS 26 | 4060 Laptop| Metal | 6,830
Note: These GPU scores use different graphics APIs, so they aren't directly comparable. I'm including them as reference data, not claiming a specific percentage of GPU performance loss.
The NVIDIA driver is installed and its kexts appear to be loaded. Geekbench detects the 4060 and reports Metal 3 support.
What I've checked so far
- "machdep.cpu.brand_string" reports Intel Core i9-14900HX.
- "machdep.cpu.core_count" and "machdep.cpu.thread_count" both report 32.
- "machdep.xcpm.mode" returns "1".
- "pmset -g therm" reports "CPU_Speed_Limit = 100" and "CPU_Available_CPUs = 32".
- "CpuTopologyRebuild.kext" is enabled.
- "ProvideCurrentCpuInfo = True".
- "ctrsmt=full" is present in my boot arguments.
- "X86PlatformPlugin" appears to be active.
- An idle "top" sample showed approximately 94% CPU idle, around 20GB RAM used, 12GB unused, and no swap activity.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

IT BOOTS! (WIP) macOS El Capitan running on my Dell Latitude 5580!
Yup, as you read from the title. I managed (After hours) to get El Capitan installed on here in a "kind of stable" state.
Specs:
- CPU & GPU: Intel Core i5-7440HQ, paired with integrated HD 630 graphics. (Spoofed as a HD 530).
- Memory: 12GB of DDR4.
- WiFi Card & BT: Intel Dual-band AC 8265NGW.
---
Notes:
- Occasionally, it has a tendency to kernel panic after waking from sleep for a long periods of time. I still have yet to find the root cause of this.

HELP Any way of running hackintosh on alder lake CPU without disabling HT?
A lot of people say its necessary to disable HyperThreading (HT) to boot hackintosh on Intel 12th gen or alder lake CPUs. But on my Acer Aspire A324-51 there is no option in the BIOS to disable the HT I've even tried using setup_var.efi to change the 0x05 variable for HT to 0x00 in CpuSetup but my laptop firmware has write protection. Is there any way to run hackintosh on alder lake CPU without disabling HT?

QUESTION Has anyone tried porting the original Apple tvOS to non-Apple hardware, specifically Android TVs?
I was wondering if anyone has ever attempted to get the actual, original Apple tvOS running on non-Apple hardware, particularly Android TV devices.
I know Hackintosh makes it possible to run macOS on non-Apple PCs, so I was wondering if a similar approach could theoretically work for tvOS.
I've also come across projects like HackiOS and UniXNU, which explore running Apple's OS components or XNU-based systems on non-Apple hardware.
Could a similar approach be possible with tvOS, using hardware compatibility work, kernel modifications, bootloader research, or some form of platform spoofing to make it behave like it's running on an Apple TV?
If it's fundamentally impossible, what exactly is the main blocker? Is it Apple's secure boot chain, hardware-specific drivers, kernel compatibility, or something else?
Has anyone researched this, attempted it, or found any relevant projects or proof-of-concepts? I'd love to know if there's any technical research on this, even if nobody has successfully booted it yet.

SUCCESS Anyone here still trying to get Qualcomm Atheros Wi-Fi working on Hackintosh? I’ve been working on this
Hey guys,
So I’ve been messing around with an old Qualcomm Atheros Wi-Fi card on my Hackintosh, and I decided to try doing something about the lack of proper macOS support.
I’m working on Ath10kMac, based on the original project by jonasw8.
GitHub: https://github.com/thekunalthakur/Ath10kMac
I’m testing it on a Dell Inspiron 15-3567 with a QCA9377 running macOS Sequoia.
Some progress so far:
Got the kext loading.
Wi-Fi scanning and connecting are working on my test machine.
Internet traffic is working too, on the networks I’ve tested.
Made some changes around board data and WPA2 compatibility.
It’s still very much a work in progress, though. Not claiming this will work on every Atheros card or every Hackintosh setup. There are still limitations, and I need more people testing it on different hardware.
Anyone here using a QCA9377 or QCA6174?
Would be awesome if you could check out the repo and share your experience. Even if it doesn’t work, logs and feedback would help a lot.
Also, if anyone has experience with macOS Wi-Fi drivers, I’d love to hear your thoughts on what could be improved.
Just trying to see how far we can push this. 😅
Cheers!

HELP OpenCore 1.0.8 DEBUG hangs at Watchdog status is 1 on Gigabyte H81M-S1 Rev. 2.1
Hi everyone! I'm trying to boot macOS Recovery on an older PC, but OpenCore hangs before showing its boot picker. I'd appreciate help identifying the cause.
Hardware
Motherboard: Gigabyte H81M-S1 Rev. 2.1 (Intel H81 chipset)
CPU: Intel Pentium G3240 (Haswell, 2 cores)
RAM: 6 GB DDR3
GPU: Intel integrated graphics; no dedicated GPU
Storage: HDD
BIOS version: FH
What I'm trying to do
I'm trying to boot macOS Internet Recovery from a USB drive using OpenCore. The USB contains BaseSystem.dmg and BaseSystem.chunklist, downloaded using OpenCore's macrecovery.py.
OpenCore setup
OpenCore version: 1.0.8
DEBUG build of OpenCore.efi
USB formatted as FAT32
Clover is also installed on the USB; I'm launching a separate copy of OpenCore named BOOTx64OC.efi so I don't overwrite Clover's bootloader.
ocvalidate reports No issues found for my original config.plist.
I verified that the OpenCore.efi on the USB has the same SHA-256 hash as the copy from the downloaded release.
Problem
When I launch OpenCore from UEFI Shell, the DEBUG log stops at:
OC: Starting OpenCore...
OC: Booter path EFI\OC\OpenCore.efi
OCFS: Trying to locate filesystem on CEAAC198 CEBA9898
OCFS: Filesystem DP EFI\OC\OpenCore.efi
OC: Absolute booter path EFI\OC\OpenCore.efi
OC: Storage root EFI\OC\OpenCore.efi
OCST: Missing vault data, ignoring...
OC: OcMiscEarlyInit...
OC: Loaded configuration of 40947 bytes
OC: Got 2 drivers
OC: Watchdog status is 1
The system then hangs indefinitely with a blinking underscore. It does not reach the OpenCore picker.
Things I've already checked
Misc → Security → Vault is set to Optional.
Misc → Boot → ShowPicker is True.
UEFI → Drivers has HfsPlus.efi and OpenRuntime.efi enabled.
ocvalidate reports no configuration validation errors.
I tested a generic Sample.plist as a diagnostic. It did not reach the picker either; it returned to Clover after I changed its Vault setting to Optional.
I also tried setting Booter → Quirks → RebuildAppleMemoryMap to True, but it did not resolve the issue.
The original config has been restored.
My questions
What could cause OpenCore to stop immediately after Watchdog status is 1 on this hardware?
Is the Pentium G3240 supported well enough to boot macOS Recovery, or would an i5-4460 be a better choice?
Are there specific BIOS settings, OpenCore quirks, or configuration problems I should check next?
I'm a beginner with OpenCore, so I'd appreciate specific troubleshooting steps. I can provide my config.plist and additional logs if needed.
Thanks!

SUCCESS Successful Sequoia on R T X 4070
Successfully installed Sequoia 15.8.1 with Metal support on an Intel 12th gen + Nvidia R T X 4070 setup using NullMoth's Nvidia driver & 1401 app.
Specs:
CPU: Intel Core i7-12700F
RAM: 32GB Crucial Ballistix DDR4 3200Mhz in Dual Channel
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce R T X 4070 12GB
Motherboard: ASUS TUF GAMING B760M-PLUS D4
WiFi: TP-Link USB AX adapter, RTL8852AU (Working, experimental rtw89 port)
BT: None at the moment
Ethernet: Realtek RTL8125 2.5GbE (Working)
SSD: KIOXIA EXCERIA PLUS G3 1TB
Bootloader: OpenCore 1.0.8, SMBIOS MacPro7,1
Audio (ALC897), USB (custom map), sleep, FileVault and CPU power management all work. HDMI/DP audio through the GPU doesn't work yet, it's a known issue on the driver side. The Wi-Fi adapter needed a port of the Linux rtw89 driver plus the OCLP wireless patch, and it's only stable at USB 2 speed, but it shows up as native Wi-Fi in the menu bar.
Special thanks to NullMoth
