Apparently this needs to be said, so hopefully everybody reads it.
Different opinions are going to be expressed in this subreddit. Lately it's been politics, in a different month it might be development, traffic control, schools, etc. Whatever the topic, we don't want incivility, trolling, baiting, vote manipulation, hate speech, misinformation, intolerance, personal information, or witch-hunting in the comments, titles, or the body of posts. Maybe I left something out, but that's it off the top of my head. Expect bans of varying length - up to and including permanent - if engaging in any of the above. It's not something we want to do, but there it is. If you see name-calling, trolling, etc please report it and don't escalate the situation. Feel free to message the mods with any questions or concerns.
Thanks a bunch, and thanks for being here & participating in the subreddit.
* edit - adding "witch-hunting", "baiting", and modmail link.

Hello all,
I wanted to share this resource for the benefit of our community.
Have an issue with the state of the 118 freeway running through Simi Valley?
See trash, weed overgrowth, etc?
The city of Simi Valley is not allowed to deploy our Public Works crew to the 118 for issues.
This also includes property along the on and off ramps to and from the freeway.
To submit a complaint form to resolve issues related to the 118 freeway,
Caltrans has a "Submit a Service Request" form that can be filled out here: https://csr.dot.ca.gov/
The issues usually get resolved in a few weeks based on my experience of submitting requests, but they are likely resolved based on the volume of complaints received.
Just wanted to share this resource as it is our duty as a community to ensure all aspects of our town are looked after.
Cheers, and have a nice day xx.

Went to get gas at Coscto early this morning and noticed a line of people sitting in folding chairs at the entrance. Is there some big product launch? Are they waiting in line for toilet paper? Anyone have info on why there's an line so early in the morning?

Did you guys attend the street fair? How was your experience?

My son attends garden grove this is his first year. We are slightly less then 2 months in and I swear it feels like there’s been more “early dismissals” and scheduled days off then actual full days.
It’s insane. Has it always been like this. Last week and this week alone is 2 weeks of early dismissals another scheduled day off with no holiday to warrant it?

"A man has been arrested nearly nine years after a woman walking to work in Simi Valley was allegedly attacked by a group of masked men armed with a knife, authorities announced Friday.
The attackers allegedly wore masks resembling the Ghostface character from the horror movie 'Scream' to conceal their identities during the early-morning assault, according to the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office.
The attack occurred around 4:10 a.m. on Sept. 21, 2017, as the woman walked along Galena Avenue.
Prosecutors allege that Ricardo Jimenez-Garcia, 39, and several other men physically assaulted the woman while wearing the masks and using a knife.
The suspects fled following the attack, and the woman called 911. Officers with the Simi Valley Police Department responded, but despite pursuing investigative leads, the case eventually went cold.
Nearly nine years later, investigators with the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office identified Jimenez-Garcia as a suspect.
He was arrested Sept. 9, 2026, and has since been charged in connection with the attack, prosecutors announced Friday.
Authorities have not disclosed what evidence led investigators to identify Jimenez-Garcia or what prompted the apparent breakthrough in the years-old case.
The specific charges against him were not detailed in Friday’s announcement. Officials also did not provide information about the woman’s injuries or whether she knew her alleged attackers.
Investigators are now seeking the public’s help as they continue searching for information and additional suspects believed to have participated in the assault.
Anyone who witnessed the 2017 attack, recognizes Jimenez-Garcia or believes they may have been victimized in a similar incident is urged to contact District Attorney Investigator Yumi Kirk at 805-477-1638." - KTLA 5 News

Hey fellow gamers. Was curious if we had a big enough WoW community to start a guild in WoW Forever when it launches Nov 4th. Would be really cool to make friends in-game and potentially go grab beers, pizza, coffee or go for a run IRL. Open to either Alliance or Horde but pretty sold on the PvP server. Played since launch in 2004 and really enjoyed the WoW Forever beta.

Hi everyone!
I’m moving into a house in Simi and was wondering which would you recommend. I currently have Spectrum and it’s not good at all.

Would this be an appropriate setting to dress up in costume? Nothing inappropriate but costumes that fit the theme of the event. Is that a normal and acceptable thing to do?

WTF.. Here we go I guess...
I had flume installed back in July of 2025. It's been great and I signed up for the 1 gig at $65 for life.
Well low and behold I logged in to The Flume support page today and it shows I'm on The Flume 2000 plan which is 2 gigs at $65 but for 5 years fixed pricing and then it goes up to whatever they want.
This is horse crap and not what I signed up for.
I sent them a text this morning so I'm waiting to hear back.
Plus I'm only getting one gig... Ha
But please somebody educate me if I'm reading this wrong but it never said Flume 2000 before and after reading about The Flume 2000 subscription, I don't think I'm wrong..

Homegrown Avocados being sold 3 for $1 on 3408 La Mesa Ave for those who are interested. Don't know if they will keep it out or for how long drove by it earlier today.

Earlier this year I would come here on a Sunday and it was packed. Today I’m the only one sitting in the cafe. And there are only a few people coming in and out. Also. The outside seating area is gone.
Did I miss something?

Several articles came out in 2021 about how they were going to improve the PSPS situation and for a while outages were limited. Then a sudden regression and we're back to regular outages.
All the while SCE sends continuous warnings that they "may have to shut off your power." Do they know our power is out? What happened to the improvements?

Can anyone recommend restaurants or stores where my family can order Thanksgiving meals to be picked up on the day? We’ll be celebrating in Simi, but we’ve only done this from places in NP/TO and don’t want the food to get cold. Thanks in advance.
ETA: It’s just 4 of us, so the “per person” type packages would be ideal.

This just popped into my head tonight. The OG spot over in the McDonald’s strip on Tapo.
The fat stack turkey on rye. Pickle spear and steak fries…these places have seem to gone by the wayside.
