Dating & Social Life
Hi, I’m new to the area. Female, early 30s, & no kids. What’s the best way to meet people in the HD? Where’s the best places to socialize?

Hi, everyone!
I’m looking for recommendations for a good divorce attorney in the High Desert. Has anyone here gone through a divorce through the Barstow courthouse? If so, I’d appreciate hearing about your experience. Thanks!

Anyone know where some homeless people camp out in Hesperia? I have left over food from an event
r/highdesert • u/Crystal_zerin • 6h ago
Everything out here is dust. I've given up on the rest of the house but the bedroom's getting ridiculous, I wake up congested most mornings and it's worse when it's windy. Mattress is like 9 years old so I figure that's part of it. Is it worth paying extra for something that says hypoallergenic, or does a decent zip cover on whatever I buy do the same job for 40 bucks? Sit 'n Sleep had both when I was in there. Has anyone noticed a difference either way?

Has anyone in the Hesperia area been robbed or has had their car broken into in the early hours of the morning ? These thieves seem to strike apartment complexes and take advantage of vehicles that either look older or have accidentally been left open. In my case , I came back home from work at 5am just to wake up to my utility bag missing with wallet and work speaker stolen !, spread awareness and keep on the alert . Same people have been robbing the Hesperia area for a while and this is not the first time my car specifically has been targeted . Unusual black Nissan Altima with paper temporary plates on the rear always seem to be circling the area of the las casitas apartment complex.

Hello, I am a 27F looking for nerdy girl friends in the high desert. I have tried everything in my power to make even one friend and nothing has stuck. So I am trying again in this subreddit!
I am a 27F and I live in Victorville, looking for anyone in the high desert. I am into marvel, star wars, board games, DND, video games, theatre, music, going to the movies, and watching TV shows! I enjoy a night out but I am very much a home body as well. We can go out and do something or chill inside and do something! I just moved out on my own (with my partner) for the first time ever so I'm really trying to put myself out there.
Thanks for reading ♥️

Looking at moving to the high desert, I know this area gets a bad wrap. I have some family up there and they say it’s a good place. I want some land, an acre or 2. so I’m thinking Phelan, pinion, or apple valley. What are your thoughts on the area?
r/highdesert • u/MaleficentAstronomer • 2d ago
So I go to the El pollo Loco across from Jess Ranch in Apple Valley. The last few times I've been there, it seems like they're not preparing the chicken the way they used to. It doesn't look marinated, there's no char on it, and it tastes completely bland and rubbery. Am I imagining this? Has anyone else experienced it? If you go to a different location is the chicken still good or are you getting the same experience? It just feels like their food is too expensive for a disappointing meal and I don't want to go there anymore if this is what it's like now.

I just moved back to the high desert (Victorville) and am looking to get my drivers license now that I’m out of my college town. I do want a little more practice before taking my test and I also need a licensed driver to accompany me to the test.
Are there any (reasonably priced) businesses in the area that provide those services? If not, is there anyone willing to step into that role for me (paid ofc) 😭 I’m way more comfortable paying a real person compared to a company price gouging in the middle of nowhere.

It’s getting colder and colder. Check your propane tank level and let me know if you’d like to compare prices before before your next fill up (for homes) times are tough right now, we have been trying to save everyone some money on propane this year. I can do slightly under $2/gal at the moment. (Won’t last too long the way propane prices are skyrocketing)

Hiii! I’m 24F and looking to make some new friends around the High Desert, preferably Hesperia/Victorville/Apple Valley area! Meeting people naturally is hard nowadays so I thought I’d give this a go ♡
I love art and animation, nature, gardening, writing, fantasy, animals, psychology and a bunch of other random things. My music taste is VERY funky and all over the place lol, I listen to pretty much everything but I especially love alternative music. I love people who are passionate about their interests and can yap about them for hours!! Leave the nonchalance at the door please!!
I’m down for all kinds of things, whether that’s getting food, thrifting, exploring, listening to music, or just hanging out and talking about whatever. I’m not much of a gamer but I love to watch people play them! I’m sober but I do smoke weed, if that’s relevant to you.
Mostly just looking to meet some cool people, make some connections, and hopefully find some friends I can be silly with and have a good time around! :’) Please don’t get the wrong idea though because I am happily in a relationship and faithful to a fault.
Feel free to message me if you think we’d get along! Tell me a little about yourself too!! ♡

Someone’s dog got out in AV. A scared little cutie who is clearly not sure which way home is. When she (I assumed from the pink collar) came into my yard I tried to approach her to get the info from her tag, but she was very skittish and ran away. I also noticed the tag was either old or some kind of technology. It had no info I could see from about 4 feet away, but was plastic and looked much thicker than a regular ol’ metal tag. She was shaking and I hope she gets home! I have no clue what to do as I also want to stay safe and don’t want to frighten her anymore. Anyone missing a pup? If I see her again, I will get a picture. She is a tiny dog, I can’t tell if she’s hungry or just slim, but her entire head is brown, body white with brown spots, and she’s terrified and it will be cold tonight. I hope her owner or someone who knows her sees this. Thanks!

Hey everyone! I’m 22m and recently moved from Michigan to Twentynine Palms, California! I’ve only been here for about two weeks, and I’m still trying to meet people and make some friends in the area.
A little about me: I’m pretty outgoing, love karaoke, gaming, volleyball, going to the gym, exploring new places, and grabbing drinks or just hanging out. I’m also really into music and theatre!
Moving across the country has definitely been an adjustment, especially not knowing many people out here. I’d love to meet some people around my age (or honestly any age) in Twentynine Palms, Joshua Tree, Yucca Valley, or anywhere nearby!
I’m always down to try something new, so if anyone’s looking for a new friend, feel free to reach out! 😊

I’m not the one who recorded this viral video, but I do live in this exact neighborhood. I’ve seen heavy wind gusts, dust devils, etc but nothing like this. I drove around and saw many fences destroyed, trees broken, cars damaged. Dang nature you scary !

Hello, May I use the old photo of the Mojave Desert old telephone booth for my blog? I saw it was used on facebook.

long shot. a few years ago we moved and my husband gave away our Halloween box that had a few homemade costumes I really miss. they were a special part of my kids childhood, and just though maybe someone might have them. one was a purple dress and mask for Shock from NMBC. one was the skirt and armor for Astrid from How to Tame Your Dragon, and one was the pink dress for Eleven from Stranger things. these were hand sewn girls sizes around a 7/8 and clay foam accessories. Im mostly interested in finding the dresses. everything was in a large purple Rubbermaid container.

Hello, anyone know of any good trunk or treat spots for the upcoming week and leading up to Halloween? I know the city of Victorville has the HallowBoo drive thru on Friday, but is there anything else? (Preferably free ones) Thanks!

Im trying to quit some substances but its still too early for a complete cold turkey so im tapering. Looking to just smoke tabaco for now while I go through this so im looking for places that dont charge too much for cigarettes or other products. I’ve been going to liquor stores but if there’s any where I can save even a buck or 2 please let me know!
Also if anyone has any tips on quitting an addiction that would help a lot too.
Thank you for your time <3

Hello I wanted to ask this group if you knew any where I can volunteer to help donate or serve the community during the holidays. Is there any food pantry or soup kitchen or somehow i can help people this holiday?

I feel a little silly posting this and doubt there’ll be a response. But it’s worth a shot! My loneliness has been eating away at me. I’m just awake, laying down on a restless night. I’m 20F and would appreciate some company. Nights like this get really lonely. I’m 21F
