Bio sophomore here. Was an AP Student in HS, top 5% of my class like most others at UT, and was a 4.0 student last year. Have been experiencing gradual, general burnout since the summer before senior year of HS marked by poor concentration, brain fog, didn't know what the cause was. I basically just pushed through senior year and last year, but during that time my wit, eloquence, and cognition withered as a whole. I would say I've had lifelong depression but was also very intelligent as a child and pushed through negative self talk and chronic insecurities from a young age.
Fast forward to now, it's hard to remember what I ate for dinner last night. I can't retain what I'm learning in class, when I'm class I just look at the clock waiting to get out. I can look at something, practice it over and over and still not remember it. And mind you, I've been medicated for ADHD for 7 years. And I've been on 4 different antidepressants and the brain fog is still here. Medical labs are clear so it's not like an organic thing is causing my brain fog, it's depression. I can only study/work on anything school related for 2 hours a day before my brain just gives out.
It feels impossible to look for internships for the summer, deal with depression, study and stay on top of class concepts, be in a research lab (I got into one last year when my brain fog was a smidge more manageable), have a social life, and remember to do things like grocery shop. This just feels unsustainable. I do not know what to do anymore.

I feel like I only know straight people, and obv there's nothing wrong with that but I'd love more queer friends.

I just wanna know which courses people felt were the most difficult in MechE curriculum. I know it kinda depends on professors too, but if you were to take the average, how would the ranking of the most difficult course look like?

This is potential schedule for next sem, do yall think it’s manageable with CS429. Also all to professors have a really low rating on rmp 😭😭 so I was wondering if there is someone that you liked. I was thinking about petitioning for honors for 429, cuz I have seen that those professors are a bit better, but I want to y’all’s opinion

I've seen posts from as far as at least 4 years ago, showing a small amount of trash in Waller Creek. Is there still some trash in Waller Creek to this day?

Precinct 311 (West Campus) is lagging by 5 percentage points compared to the Travis county average in early voting turnout. Only 16% of registered voters in west campus have voted so far vs the Travis county average of almost 22%. There are over 6000 voters in this precinct alone — it’s one of the largest in Travis county. It makes a MEANINGFUL difference when y’all vote. Source.
North campus neighborhoods are only marginally better and still below Travis county averages.
Polls are open this weekend (and continues through Oct 30th before Election Day Nov 3rd) 7am-7pm.
Early voting sites and wait times
LBJ is usually less crowded than the Union but currently both are showing a less than 20 min wait which at this time means almost no wait. PLEASE GO VOTE this weekend!

i’m currently a sophomore gov major, and i’m struggling to find any internships for the summer. all i can find really are unpaid, full time opportunities. i’m going to apply to them anyway, but i kinda need money ✌️✌️✌️i feel like the people in my major around me are able to find such great opportunities, but i genuinely just don’t know where to look. please help 🙏

So I got the interview for becoming an RA and I wanted to know more about the interview process. There are different time slots and I’m not sure if it’s a group interview type of thing or if it’s solo. They haven’t really communicated much regarding this. If anyone has insight on this I’d really appreciate it sm!

I'm planning my spring schedule as a first-year CS student at UT Austin and wanted to get some advice from people who've taken these classes.
My planned schedule is:
I'm particularly curious about taking M 340L and M 362K in the same semester. For anyone who's taken both, how manageable was the combination? How much work did each class require outside of class? I am trying to take a math double major btw.
Also for anyone that took CC 302 (Intro to Rome Web Based) is it a light class? I need to get my culture credits done somehow.
My afternoons are pretty packed, so I'd also appreciate any thoughts on the overall workload, the professors' teaching styles, and whether you'd recommend changing anything.
Thanks in advance!

There was a cookie scammer that was in Medici on guad. Just wanted to let people know to not fall for it cause my friend did since she’s new and didn’t know. People will come up to you with a card saying they’re an international student (they are not) and need money for tuition or something and will try to get you to buy cookies or bracelet but it’s a common scam.

Same as the title. They’re all great people but none of them want to go to frat/co-op parties. I realize this is reddit and none of yall gonna trust me but I’m a tall, attractive, fun guy. I’m not a hoe, I just want to go out. I can bring some alcohol too.
