Does anyone notice they are offloading coal into the ships? I keep seeing it from a condo plus binoculars. Ships docked, coal being loaded into them.

Some late night thoughts. I know not all polls are reporting but as of this moment, 211 of 267 are reporting so it's probably going to end as it is now.
Mayor - Glad to see change and for the better. He's the least worst, but he's what we need right now.
Ward 1 - You too made the right choice I think. Though I hope Savelli makes it interesting again soon.
Ward 2 - You too made the right choice. Kroetsch isn't perfect and isn't the best, but he too was the least worst choice this time around. The other candidates were far too problematic or inappropriate.
Ward 3 - Nice to see that sanity ruled the day. Selman's not a good person, and he can continue to demonize the homeless and addicted as if it's a choice.
Ward 4 - Shame on you. Farr is not in it for you, he's not in it for anyone other than himself. This is a step backwards.
Ward 5 - One day you'll realize the errors of your ways and look to be a part of the team rather than the kid who passes himself off well but dares you not to look behind the curtain.
Ward 6 - I guess it'll take Jackson dying to not elect him. Most voters don't remember a time without him there.
Ward 7 - You made a lateral move. More cogent and coherent, but still very conservative and backwards. You didn't understand the assignment with removing Pauls, it'd seem.
Ward 8 - We upgraded. A voice of sanity on council.
Ward 9 - Way to play the wildcard and throw out a career politician. Will it pay off?
Ward 10 - I hope Trombetta brings her A game.
Ward 11 - I guess there was no better alternative?
Ward 12 - Not surprised, hopefully Kunc brings the energy and enthusiasm every day to council. Not as far left leaning as A. Wilson, but better than Lieberman.
Ward 13 - You will have buyer's remorse. This was a bad move.
Ward 14 - No real surprise there. I love you Kojo, but your activism just does not play that well in the suburbs outside of the CHH complexes.
Ward 15 - It was probably the right move, Ted just seemed to not have his heart in it last term or in this campaign, hopefully he enjoys retirement.
Overall it was a mostly clean campaign, outside of Horwath's cheap shots with name calling and attack ads at the end. Whitehead's dirty tricks didn't work and hopefully he's gone forever now. We have a different, but same, mix of conservatives and progressives on council with a right-leaning mayor who's said he won't use strong mayor powers. Let's see what this term can do about our housing/homelessness crises as the cold weather sets in, how we keep taxes reasonable while not resorting to just cutting everything, how we start to move forward with attracting new business and trimming the fat at city hall.

I own an 80 year old home and am looking for advice from anyone who has dealt with sewage backups, plumbing contractors, or Hamilton’s Protective Plumbing Program.
I’ve now had two sewage backups in my basement, and I’m trying to figure out who is responsible, what my options are, and how to avoid being left with thousands of dollars in costs and potentially higher insurance premiums.
The situation:
I had a sewage back up last year and put in an insurance claim. I was advised to install a backflow valve and to remove the building trap. I chose an approved plumber through the city’s Protective Plumbing Program and discussed the plan. The paperwork listed removal of the existing building trap as work to be completed, however, that work was not done - they only installed the backflow valve. They also inspected the rest of the line with a camera and did not find any major obstructions, as far as I know. I submitted all this paperwork (including the cd with the camera footage) to the city for reimbursement. The contractors then came in and completed the reno, including new flooring, drywall, trim and paint. I thought it was all behind me.
Unfortunately, I experienced another sewage backup a month ago. I contacted the City’s Sewer Lateral Management Program and had another plumbing company inspect the situation. Their report indicated that the pipe was obstructed/flooded and that they suspected the existing building trap might still be in place. They were unable to get their equipment more than approximately five feet downstream from the backwater valve area. They recommended interior excavation, removal of the suspected trap, clearing the obstruction and further investigation. This work is quoted at more than $3000. This plumber told me verbally that the building trap was the cause of the problem although I plan to investigate further again.
My questions:
Can I hold the company that didn’t remove the trap responsible? They were a City-approved contractor, and their paperwork listed the building-trap removal as work to be completed, but they left it in place. Can I hold them responsible? What evidence would I need to establish that their incomplete work contributed to the second backup? Should I start with a formal written complaint to the company, the City, or both?
What is the best way to pursue this? Is there a complaint process through the City of Hamilton’s Protective Plumbing Program, a plumbing regulator, or another organization? Would a lawyer be worthwhile, particularly if the cost of repairs is substantial?
Could the City share any responsibility? Does the City have any responsibility for the contractor’s work, or is that strictly between the contractor and me?
How can I minimize the impact on my insurance? I’m concerned about premium increases or other consequences of having multiple sewage-backup claims. Is there anything I should know before deciding how to proceed with the claim, particularly if I pursue the contractor separately? I don’t want to make a decision that leaves me worse off financially.
What should I do before authorizing expensive plumbing work? I want to establish the actual cause of the backup and avoid paying for unnecessary excavation or pipe replacement. Should I request the camera footage that has been submitted to the city?
Has anyone dealt with a similar situation in Ontario? What happened? How did it go?
I’d very much like to avoid a complicated legal process and am not looking to jump straight into a lawsuit, if at all. I want to understand my options and figure out how to get this resolved without being stuck paying for someone else’s negligence.
Thanks for any advice!

I live in the basement of a house, with tenants (not landlord) in the floor above me. The neighbours literally set up chairs right at my front door (they have their own entrance into their home), and proceed to chain smoke cigarettes and weed from 8am until almost midnight, every single day.
I've asked them to smoke away from my front door. I've asked the landlord to tell them to smoke away from my front door. But it continues, day after day. I literally can't open my front door without getting blasted with tobacco and weed.
What can I do about this? Do I have any options?

Coming in for Buffalo for a concert, was thinking I would park at the Burlington go station and take the train in… but another post made it seem like there is parking everywhere around the coliseum. Is that correct? What’s the better option? Can you get out quickly after the concert? Also, do those parking lots take tap, since I won’t have Canadian currency?
