So i recently booted up my nintendo wii again, since i felt like i never gave it much time when i was a kid, i recently found out that my model has regrocomoatibilty with gamecube games, which at first glance was super intresting to me since i never owned a gamecube, viewtiful joe is a game that has standed out alot to me and i wanted to try it out but im not sure about it since i would be playing it on a wii controller..

Ive seen people discussing how hard the game is and i was thinking about how playing it on the Wii would be recomendable 😭

So, ive recently been on a run getting every console or platform for the most complete gaming experience. My last acquisition was a backwards compatible Wii and a gamecube controller to finish up my nintendo lineup.

What games would you consider are still best played on a gamecube, even when ports or remasters exist? The controller feels so unique that mechanics built around it might not work in other platforms.

Im guessing Super Mario Sunshine is best experienced with the gamecube controller rather than the NSO emulation for example. Curious about games like pikmin or metroid prime compared to their wii counterparts.

Purple like the classic gamecube and snes colors themselves or the classic Nintendo Red thats used in logos back then and marketing now?

i just bought a gamecube controller, the controller didnt seem to have any problems, but i noticed that the stick has a little “loose” on the right side, i mean its easier to go to the right and doesnt go to the very center when i release it. should i return it or is it usable ? (the picture is bad and can accentuate the loose)

I have been playing video games for about 20 years, and have yet to find a game that’s more addicting! Simply being able to pick up, navigate the controls easily and have a blast for 30 minutes or longer 😁

Mas no ano passado, eu queria mais controles para jogar com meus amigos e familiares...

Procurei online por controles oficiais (como os da CEX), mas eles custavam uma fortuna...

Então decidi comprar 3 falsificados na Amazon...

As primeiras 2 semanas correram bem... tudo indo bem...

O problema é que, depois de 2 semanas, eles começaram a apresentar drift no analógico...

Eu estava jogando Super Smash Bros. Melee com meu irmãozinho e o personagem dele simplesmente começou a cair do cenário sozinho...

Eu não sabia o que fazer, então simplesmente nunca mais os usei...

Mas existe alguma maneira de eu... Resolver isso?

Ou devo simplesmente comprar novos?

Se você tiver alguma recomendação, seria de grande ajuda...

I own a Japanese copy of Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker but the sleeve I have is in bad shape. I would like to print my own onto cardboard for display purposes, but there don't appear to be any high quality scans of the complete box on the usual websites (The Cover Project only has front and back, GameTDB has all but one side). Are there other sources that I should be looking for HQ scans?

Grew up playing a lot of multiplayer GC games at a neighborhood friend’s house. Now that I have my own GC I’m focusing on single player games I never got to try on the GC.

What are your favorite single player games on GameCube?

Hey everyone! I recently bought a GameCube, and every one of my six games gives me this error when I try to launch it.
I have a backwards-compatible Wii, and all of my games work perfectly on it. I also have Picoboot installed in my GameCube, but I’d really like to get the disc drive working so I can play my original discs on the console itself.
I’ve already cleaned the laser lens with isopropyl alcohol, but that didn’t help.
Here are some symptoms I’ve noticed:
I hear a clicking sound from the disc drive right before the error appears.
After the error, it clicks another 1–2 times.
If I open the lid right after the clicking sound, the disc is still spinning pretty fast and only just starts slowing down.
The laser lens also changes position, so I’m wondering if the motor is working fine.
What do you guys think could be causing this? Would recapping the entire disc drive board be worth trying, or does this sound more like a failing laser or another component?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Eternal Darkness was a fun experience, dragged on a little too long but otherwise a cool and unique experience with some of those classic survival horror elements

Pikmin I have never played so curious about this one, feels like it belongs in a Gamecube collection.

The NBA games I managed to grab for cheap so I threw them in, Street is fun, Courtside looks meh so far.

It all started with me watching a bunch of YT videos about the GameCube and collecting. I quickly realized that I had one of the “grails” back home that I used to play when I was maybe 10 or 11 (GoGo Hypergrind). Long story short, all my GameCube stuff is in the mail and headed my way.

I found a great CRT that works with component cables and started picking up games I never owned. Really excited to have a little retro corner.

I was bored so i decided to make a graphics design little project to turn super paper mario wii cover to a gamecube cover, didn't take me long enough. I hope you guys like it. Not the proudest cause of the spine being black but it'll do.

I’m trying to hook a GameCube up to my tv, and it won’t post. the power light turns on but the game in the system isn’t spinning and theres no image or sound. It’s not the cable, I checked it on another system with the same cables and it worked just fine. any ideas what the issue might be and how to resolve it?

Long story short broke a part on the 1.2 rev of picoloader kit and then ended up ordering the 1.1 rev on accident, the 1.1 comes with the sd2sp2 pro and my GameCube doesn’t have the port it plugs into, will the 1.1 picoboard work with the GC2SD that came with the 1.2 rev?

I got everything for $100. Two controllers, memory cards, and all cables, plus the metal carrying case i thought was awesome! Console doesn’t read discs, but plan on modding it anyways!
