I've been watching him since the '23 Combine (same draft class as Richardson). He's come a long way and seems to just now be hitting his stride - is he a viable option for us next season?

The next Colts GM

Hello Colts nation! Been a fan of the Colts for over 25 years now and have to say Carlie is off to a great start firing Ballard. Question still remains of who is going to replace him? In my opinion I believe Ray Agnew from the Lions is a great candidate. Who do you want as GM next Colts nation?

Discussion When Your Old Fans Stop Caring

You're in trouble. I'm middle aged. I never thought I'd live as long as I have, and a lot of us didn't (🙏🏻) to them, but here I am. I remember when the Colts came to Indianapolis. We were Bears fans back then. I remember the Hoosier Dome, and the women who would do their knitting during the games. Sounds crazy, but it's 💯 true. "Lord Help Our Colts". No trim till the Colts win. Harbaugh in 95/6. Peyton Manning draft in 97/8. And he was horrible his first year. 20 interceptions or whatever, awful. But we cared. Now, not so much. Maybe I'm just talking about me, but I don't think so. I'm a fresh 51. The folks paying the money are older. Y'all definitely don't want to lose them.

Daniel Jones is WAY worse than he seems

Which is saying a lot at this point.

My guy could have thrown atleast FOUR interceptions last game that were luckily dropped of which two were potential pick sixes. This applies to the last few games as well- if anything he is lucky to look only as bad as he is right now.

What the hell is Coach Stinkin’ seeing on the tape for the love of god someone please tell me?!!

I keep forgetting he’s a rookie seems like he’s getting more comfortable week by week. One of the few bright spots on this awful season.

Discussion [James Boyd] #Colts HC Shane Steichen, asked about Daniel Jones bad stats in several key areas: “There are a lot of stats out there, but I think, like I said, he’s proven that he can (play well). So, that’s where the confidence comes from and we need to get him back playing at that level.”

It intrigues me that Steichen is this entrenched in one guy. He never gave Anthony Richardson this amount of faith.

Put aside Richardsons injury issues (quite frankly they rival Jones) and his immaturity (what did they expect drafting a guy just turning 21 with almost nil college experience) anyone can see under current circumstances that adding a more mobile QB might make a big difference.

Whether I like or dislike Anthony Richardson isn’t relevant, it’s what’s best for the team. Steichen seems to have this self made dislike toward a player.

Colts History Colts - a QBs last stand, final payout, ward for declining passers...

Post image

It's easy to blame the face in the place, though there seems to be a trend here. Maybe the GM change will eventually resolve and the fan sentiment will self correct. The crowdsourced negativity is palpable.

It's quite interesting the number of these QBs that were on Superbowl rosters (pic). not listed (no SB) Philip with top ten all time stats and Gardner who had been a serviceable journeyman.

Really though there's a team aspect dependency on its players' self accountability. We see week to week breakdowns in all phases of the game.

Capability is present, though seemingly the leaders (coaches & players) aren't holding the collective together.

Maybe the stress/fear has many already looking to 'their' futures.

Is it too late to bring in someone (a rah rah) to help salvage or easier to trade-away/build for the future?

Shit post We should trade for JJ, but don’t give him 9…

History has shown with JJ that his play doubles in quality if his number does— as 9 he was trash as 18 in New York he is twice as good. Now we trade a 3rd or something for him and we give him 36. That’s the way we can save this franchise.

Roster Move Help me out with this logic

Why are we more patient with CJ Allen than Adonai mitchell?

Don't we as "fans" had "higher" expectations for Adonai Mitchell than CJ Allen?

We shipped out Adonai Mitchell so quick and I feel like we didn't give him a chance

Where are call out for CJ Allen?

An Open Letter to Shane Steichen

Coach Steichen,

I have a few questions for you, and I think Colts fans deserve some honest answers.

First, what exactly are we doing at quarterback?

Daniel Jones is coming off a torn Achilles, and whether you want to acknowledge it or not, there are legitimate questions about whether he is back to the player he was before that injury. I am not a doctor, and I am not going to pretend to know what is happening medically. But I am watching the same games everyone else is watching. The mobility, the decision-making, the production and the overall confidence in this offense are not where they need to be.

Against Minnesota, Jones threw for 108 yards, completed just 59.1% of his passes, threw a game-ending interception and took four sacks. Through seven games, he has seven interceptions against four touchdown passes. His 69.4 passer rating ranks 31st among 33 qualified quarterbacks.

At what point does loyalty to a player become a liability to the team?

I understand why you believe in Daniel Jones. He played well last season before his injury derailed everything. But last season is not this season. We cannot keep making decisions based on the player we hope he will be instead of the player we are getting on Sundays.

And that brings me to Anthony Richardson.

I am not going to pretend Anthony is a finished product. He has struggled with accuracy, consistency and injuries. Nobody who has watched his career can honestly deny that. But he has physical tools that can change a game, the ability to threaten defenses with his legs, and a ceiling that this organization invested the fourth overall pick in to develop.

If Jones is struggling this badly, why are we not giving Richardson a legitimate opportunity?

I believe Anthony deserves that opportunity. Not because he has proven he is a better NFL quarterback in every respect, but because what we are currently doing is not working. Let the man compete. Give him a real game plan that takes advantage of his strengths. Find out what you have before deciding what you do not have.

If Richardson cannot get it done, then we have our answer. But continuing to run Jones out there while the offense struggles does not feel like a serious attempt to find one.

Now, let's talk about the play-calling.

What happened to the offensive creativity that made you an attractive head coaching candidate in the first place?

Too often, this offense looks predictable. The rhythm disappears, drives stall, and we seem determined to force a game plan to work even when the defense has clearly figured it out. We have talent. We have playmakers. We have an offensive line that should be helping us establish an identity. Yet there are stretches when the offense looks completely incapable of adjusting.

And here is something I want to know: where is the leadership on the field?

Where is the quarterback who sees the defense, recognizes that the play called from the sideline is a terrible matchup, and has the confidence and authority to change it at the line of scrimmage?

A quarterback needs to be more than someone who takes the snap and executes the play that was sent in. He needs to understand the defense, communicate with his teammates and make adjustments when the situation demands it.

I do not see enough of that right now.

If the quarterback is not making those adjustments, then somebody on the sideline needs to recognize the problem. And if the offensive play-calling is not producing results, then the solution cannot be to keep doing the same thing and hope the outcome changes.

Coach, you are the head coach. You are responsible for this offense, regardless of who is calling the plays on a particular Sunday.

If necessary, hand the play-calling duties to your offensive coordinator or another qualified offensive coach for a few games. Let someone else take control, bring a different perspective and see whether this offense can find its footing again.

That is not an admission of failure. It is an acknowledgment that something is not working and that winning matters more than any one person's ego.

Which brings me to the biggest question I have for you.

Do you honestly believe your time in Indianapolis has been successful?

Let's look at the record.

Your first season ended 9-8, just short of the playoffs. Your second season ended 8-9. Your third season ended 8-9. Now, after Sunday's loss to Minnesota, we are sitting at 2-5.

That is a 27-31 record in Indianapolis through seven games of your fourth season. No playoff appearances. No postseason wins. And now we are watching an offense that looks nothing like the unit that gave us hope last year.

I recognize that coaching records do not tell the entire story. Injuries matter. Roster construction matters. Quarterback instability matters. And there have been moments during your tenure when this team has looked capable of competing with anyone.

But those circumstances are not an excuse to avoid accountability. They are part of the job.

You were hired to bring this franchise back to relevance. You were hired to develop quarterbacks, build an effective offense, make adjustments and win football games. That is what head coaches are paid to do.

The Colts averaged 27.4 points per game last season, good for eighth in the NFL. We have already seen what this offense can look like when things click. That is precisely why the current situation is so frustrating. The potential is there, but potential does not win games.

At some point, the results have to matter more than the promises.

So here is what I want to see.

Give Anthony Richardson a real chance to compete for the starting job. Evaluate Daniel Jones honestly, including where he is physically and whether his current level of play gives this team the best chance to win. Reevaluate the offensive play-calling and be willing to hand those responsibilities to someone else if that is what the team needs. Demand accountability from the players, the coaching staff and yourself.

Most importantly, stop treating change as a last resort.

Indianapolis fans have watched this franchise cycle through quarterbacks, coaching decisions and seasons full of what-ifs for far too long. We do not need another explanation about what went wrong after another disappointing loss. We need to see that the people in charge recognize the problems and are willing to do something about them.

I am not asking you to guarantee a playoff appearance. I am not asking you to turn Anthony Richardson into an MVP overnight. I am asking you to make the decisions that give this team its best chance to win.

If that means admitting your current approach is not working, then admit it. If that means making a change at quarterback, make it. If that means surrendering play-calling duties for a few weeks, do it.

Because right now, the question is no longer just whether Daniel Jones is the right quarterback.

The question is whether you are willing to make the tough decisions necessary to be the right head coach for Indianapolis.

Colts fans deserve an offense that can adjust, a coaching staff that can adapt, and a team that looks like it has a plan when things go wrong.

We deserve more than excuses and another season of wondering what might have been.

The question is simple, Coach: What are you going to do to turn this around?

Signed,

A frustrated Colts fan who still wants to believe this team can be better.

TL;DR: Shane Steichen, the Colts are 2-5, Daniel Jones is struggling, and the offense has lost its identity. Give Anthony Richardson a legitimate shot, hand off play-calling duties if necessary, and start making adjustments instead of hoping things magically improve. You’re 27-31 in Indianapolis with no playoff appearances. At some point, potential and excuses have to give way to results. Colts fans deserve better, and it starts with accountability.

Chiefs - Shane mismanages the clock, snatching defeat from the jaws of victory
Steelers - Taylor rushes for only 45 yards. Jones falls to 0-4 all time vs the Steelers
Titans - jones throws 2 interceptions and Taylor fumbles
Vikings - shrader decides he’s tired of watching Daniel jones and shanks 2 field goals

Colts Season Ticket Holder Opt Out Period

I am interested in current Colts Forever Blue Members thoughts on renewing for 2027 after this seasons rough start and the struggles that are likely to continue through the end of this season. Are you willing to stick it out for the Gameday experience or are you more likely to throw in the towel at this point? It has been a frustrating and painful beginning thus far for sure. LoL!! I reluctantly renewed after going back and forth regarding renewal vs. nonrenewal. It was a VERY TOUGH decision. But changes are definitely on the horizon for this team and possibly a complete rebuild.

An Exciting Season?

What are the odds that Alec Pierce is activated from IR and actually plays at some point this season and we have Pierce, Warren, Downs, Taylor, and Allen all playing and it actually becomes fun to watch the Colts play games again???

Would be cool if it were AR too but that’s a different conversation

Edit: this post is mainly about what are the odds AP plays again this season
