I came across someone at Gargoyles who told me a story about a player named ByebyeGargs who had supposedly reached 300,000 Gargoyle kills. At first I thought it sounded made up, until I did some digging and found a Reddit post from over a year ago documenting his grind.
You can find the original Reddit post about him and his post replying to that here.

Fast forward to today and he’s now sitting at 600,000 Gargoyle kills and is pushing toward an absolutely insane milestone of 1 million Gargoyles killed.

Not a complaint post, just pure admiration for how well the actual raid looks and plays. I’m a max main pet hunter and I sincerely hope I go dry as fuck for the pet here bc I don’t want to leave.
It could just be “new shiny toy” syndrome but before TFA came out I was spamming high invo ToA solos for pet and the thought of ever going back there is so bleh after experiencing engaging group play and 2026-era OSRS game design.
Unironically excited that this is all we get for end game content (besides maybe TFA hard mode) until mage inferno at end of 2027.

They stated the raid would be completable solo but more of a challenge and this is mostly true.
The rooms require more effort like flinching / tick eating guardian, managing the jelly and spawns alone, a lot of flicking and gear swapping on Xarth (Ezekiel is free).
Harder, but very manageable for good players. Why then add a mechanic with (currently) no counterplay that might as well not exist in team raids. The tank never gets vined so it adds pretty much no difficulty to the fight, even in duos. It exists purely to hinder solo raids.
Ocellus will always vine you right before a slam so you are tanking at the very least 27 damage. Venator / Barrage often noodles causing you to tank another slam and the chip from two melees, so slightly above 54 damage.
It would be so much better if the other mechanics actually dealt significant damage and punished you for poor play, even if the damage is only scaled with one player in the party.
The rest of the fight is great, a long drawn out fight like pre-nerf Phosani's that requires a lot of focus and minimal mistakes.
Solo is not efficient at all and requires near enough complete max gear (very few clears without Obligator / Zeal) so I just can't understand the reasoning behind punishing you for bad rng.

Hi all,
The worst has finally happened to my account. I don't post on reddit much but I think it's extremely important that I bring this to other peoples attention.
I was trying to join a TFA raid and I found a guy that was very charming and we were having a nice convo on discord. After a bit of talking he brought up using a new TFA plugin and showed me the plugin on his runelite on a voice call over discord. He sent me a link to what seemed like a legit runelite plugin website with the https//:runelite.net url and everything so I felt safe to trust it, downloaded it, and reloaded client. I tried joining his phub channel and my client crashed and the hack/bank wipe began. I couldnt log in after several minutes and when I did I was at the ge with 2 green h'ween masks in my inventory and everyhting else gone. 2.25b bank obliterated in an instant after 5 years of progress.
The guys rsn was Smorkson and his discord name was udpl... some guy named Inertguy was also in the phub that I tried to join. Please dont make the same mistake I did!
Back to cg and a rebuild I guess or quitting the game idk. Gl all

Long story short I started thinking about multi skilling methods (Barb fishing, HA while agility, Aeriel fishing, ect) and I saw a reccomendation about seeting up a canon near an agility course while HA with a bone crusher (Prayer, agility, mage, range) but if you use spin flax its up to 5 skills (prayer, agility, mage, range, crafting)

Is it possible to level more than 5 skills at once? My only thought is maybe swapping this activity for slayer and using the attack where the xp is shared. So potentially one could train (slayer, Prayer, ranged, attack, strength, defence, and hp) If we were to add HA to this it would be 8 skills in total?
I made a small youtube video to help explain what i found better but you should skip to the "Merlins Method"
Thanks boss!

Title says it all.
Ive seen talks and comments of "Give Torva a stab bonus" "Give Torva a HP boost like it orignially had" "Give Torva Armor a bit more STR"
Oathplate Armor and Inq. Armor essentially destroys torva when it comes to slash and crush. Most players are just using Oathplate armor with a torva helmet now a days.
Does the armor actually need a change / buff?

I see a lot of negative opinions about hardcore worlds. My take is that if you’re worried about mules and gold swapping then play as a fake Ironman.
My biggest problem with HCIM is that there is no reset. Once you die, it just becomes a wasted account that has membership and can never be a HC again. I already have a main and an iron so once I lose HC status that account is dead to me.
I’ve played HC wow and I understand why people mule, I did but that game is different. Since there’s a lot of classes you almost always have alt. In osrs I can be a warrior and a mage on the same account so the only alt will be a bank standing mule or a wildy alt. Will I mule in osrs? Not sure yet.
I’ve also played games like HC Poe, you don’t need a mule because it saves your bank. The thing that’s different with Poe is there is a lot more currency sink because the good items with good stats are (randomly rolled) crafted. I loved HC Poe but the game changed and there was too many ways to die without even knowing what killed you. To me though the best part of HC Poe was the limited economy, since you would use the best items to prevent death and when you died these would be deleted.
Osrs is unique where you could play the game for hundreds of hours without doing any content that could lead to death. Meaning risky items will be more of a premium, which is expected.
I think gold swapping could be the issue for long term. If the gp/hr is higher to just play hc worlds than anything in main game there is no incentive not too. Especially for bot farms. I’m not sure how this will play out because I hope Hc worlds has enough life to be sustainable, even if I’m playing it like an Ironman.
Two takes I have that could drastically fix these problems. No trading. Players cannot trade directly with each other but can buy/sell on the GE and items dropped on the ground are deleted. This would mean no mules. You could get by doing some weird GE listing prices or trading through PvP deaths but these risks would be up to you. I’m not saying these ideas are perfect solutions. Even without them I’ll still be playing. Too many people would be upset and I doubt this is something Jagex would ever do anyways.

So I’ve been playing for about a year and a half (I don’t get to play often as life is busy but I find OSRS a great way to unwind).
I’ve just about hit mid game, with 1600 overall and started to learn PvM etc.
I think the old school game has been going on for about 20 years now and it looks like is in a strong state.
How long do people think it’ll maintain in a healthy state before declining?

I recently turned my 60 attack 1 defence pure into what I had planned to be a 60 attack piety pure. But I ended up with 61 attack after questing and ultimately decided to move to 65. I understand that Belle's Folly is 1 tick slower than Dragon Sword, but the stats are significantly better. Is it worth using over Dragon Sword for TOA? I only have ~10kc with a max invo of 150 so far.

I took few years off to deal with family matters and finally have time to put in hours again. Currently have around 240m bank and maxed combat stats. My main method of making gp was usually TOA and slayer. Is this still recommended or has the new raid and other methods been added? Thank you in advance for any tips or assistance!

Before adding a hot and cold forging feature to OSRS, I believe it’s essential to balance mining and smithing properly. This is done through some number changes and level clamping.
If you have an hour, feedback and ideas are welcome! Thanks.

Also can we just change 416 to the TOB FFA world officially instead of it being a 1500 world? TFA and TOA had the ball rolling immediately.

Has Jagex said anything about when the next Deadman Mode season will take place? I don’t think anything was mentioned about it at Runefest.

Like many, I was disappointed to learn that the Rondache's damage reduction applies before prayer (making it less effective than expected against bosses with prayer penetration like Vardorvis). But reading the wiki, I realize that it also provides the benefit of always gaining charges even if your prayer blocks all damage. If Jagex were to change the Rondache's flat armor to apply after prayer, it would no longer gain charges in fights without PP as a result. So, what would you rather have? I think always reducing is better, but curious to hear otherwise.

Thought I'd post this here as it doesn't seem to be reported anywhere else (that I can see atm).
I bought a Zorya's tome the other day, took it to yama (800+ KC), and was confused when I started dying to the red glyph special attack even after stepping in it correctly.
I noticed in the chat box a message saying "The glyph of fire is consumed to power your attack".
I did some quick googling and found out about an interaction between the Volatile & Eldritch staff special attacks for the red glyph (and also SGS for blue), where it consumes the damage absorbing effect in order to boost the damage of your special attack.
It then dawned on me that this only started happening to me once I'd brought a Zorya's Tome to try as a spec attack, and then concluded that the Zorya's Tome ALSO shares the same "Special attack empowerment effect, as the Eldrictch/Volatile Staff).
I have only done 30 or so kills since getting the Zorya's Tome, and have not fully tested this interaction to understand whether the boosted effect applies to all 4 hits, or just the first initial "spec" hit, as I did die after using it each time due to the meteor special, so if someone better at the game than me wants to test whether it can shake up the yama mage meta, that would be great.
TLDR: Zorya's Tome can consume red glyph damage absorbing effect to increase special attack damage at Yama.
