writing marking as AI
i seem to always have this issue when i’m writing short answer questions or essays. nowadays i always make sure to run my work through an ai checker just to make sure my work isn’t going to flag for ai for my professor. i don’t ever use ai when i am writing, but it seems like more and more of my work is getting flagged at higher percentages. i’m not really sure what to do in this situation. i don’t want to run the risk of getting in trouble for something i didn’t do, but it seems to me i’ve been spending more time and effort having to practically dumb down how i write to appease an ai detector. i was just wondering if anyone else has had this issue, or if anyone has any tips on how to handle it? i don’t want to always have to resort to making my work look less thought out than it is.

CS at Frisco vs Discovery Park – are the classes/professors good at Frisco?
Hi! I'm a future CS transfer student, and I'm trying to decide between taking most of my classes at Frisco or at Discovery Park. I don't have any transportation, so I'd prefer to take my classes in Frisco if possible.
- Does Frisco offer enough CSCE classes, or did you end up having to go to Discovery Park a lot?
- Do the professors at Frisco have a good reputation? If you have any you'd recommend, please let me know.
- Has anyone done Capstone at Frisco (the Spring→Fall sequence)? How was it?
- Is it hard to get a seat in 3444 and 3600 at either campus?
Thanks!

Transferring into CS – which CSCE classes/professors should I take (or avoid)?
Hi! I'm transferring into UNT's BS Computer Science (planning for Fall 2027 or Spring 2028). Most of my lower-level CS will transfer, so I'll be taking mostly upper-level CSCE classes.
I'd love to hear your honest opinions on these classes:
- CSCE 3600 Systems Programming (I heard it has a high DFW rate)
- CSCE 3444 Software Engineering
- CSCE 4110 Algorithms
- CSCE 4350 Database Systems
- CSCE 3550 Cybersecurity
- CSCE 2120 Vectors and Matrices / 2130 Analysis and Modeling
- EENG 2710 Digital Logic
- Capstone (4901/4902)
For each one:
1. How hard is it, and how much work is it per week?
2. Which professors do you recommend or avoid?
3. Any tips for passing 3600?
4. Which classes should NOT be taken in the same semester?
Also, any CS electives you'd recommend (Core Focus / Breadth Focus)?
Thanks a lot!

Cs hard courses
Hey whats the courses in CS degree that you found the hardest out of all of them.
I am a junior right now and have 4.0 goa so far. This semester has been going pretty well for me i have scored 90/100 for cs 4115 midterm and 100/100 for eeng digital logic class midterm
I need to know the courses to watch out for and therefore any professor you guys would recommend me to take those courses from.
I know the current job market sucks in CS, i just need to control my grades and get as high as possible to better my chances
Can someone help me pick easier classes? I just want this over with.
I’m a sophomore theater major and I’m not good at a lot of the core classes needed. I’m just looking for easy classes to take to get them out of the way.

Gotta admit, this gave me a good laugh on the way home from the Union. Kudos to the artists!

Forensic Science Program Acceptance Acknowledgement?
Hey guys :) I put in my application for the forensics program a while back and the application deadline recently closed (10/16). I was wondering if anyone knew when/how they would contact me about being admitted/denied? I've been checking my email every day but I'm not even sure if that's where I would receive news about it. It's kinda stressing me out with classes filling up quickly. I know it probably takes a while to get through all the applications, but any info/experience on this matter would be greatly appreciated. :)

Adding an extra day to a course
Just received this email about one of my classes changing schedule, anyone know what might be a reason for them adding a whole day? Really throwing a wrench in my plans here

Recitation requirements
I’m enrolling for classes and I noticed some calculus II classes don’t have a recitation with them. Does anyone know if you need to take a recitation class or it’s optional?
Something Has Awakened
Was walking back from making a cash deposit for work and had lots of fun with these Slender-inspired pages I encountered along the way! I was big into Marble Hornets during my first semester here way back in 2011. 🖤
Thank you to the artist for brightening my Friday. 😊

Has anyone attended UNT’s Fashion Design program? Is it worth it for someone starting at 24?
Hi everyone! I’m 24 and already have a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, but I’ve realized it’s not something I want to pursue long-term. I’ve always been drawn to fashion.
I’ve been working since I was 15 and have been financially independent for most of my life. I’m fortunate enough to live at home with my parents right now, and I currently clean Airbnb properties during the day and serve at night to save money. I still have around $24,000 in student loans from my first degree, so I want to be smart about investing in another education.
I’m considering UNT’s fashion program because I qualify for in-state tuition, which seems like a more affordable option than many other fashion schools. However, I’m wondering if going back to school for a second degree is actually worth it.
A few questions for anyone familiar with UNT’s program:
Would you recommend UNT’s fashion program? How are the professors, curriculum, and career opportunities after graduation?
Is the program worth the cost, especially for someone who already has a bachelor’s degree?
Would I still qualify for any financial aid or scholarships as a second-degree student?
How much emphasis is placed on sewing and technical design versus styling, merchandising, and trend forecasting?
Do graduates have success finding jobs in the fashion industry?
Would it be better to pursue the degree or try to break into fashion through retail and internships first?
I have some basic sewing experience but no extensive technical background. My strengths are styling and I’m adaptable, coachable, and eager to learn.
I’m also Has anyone attended UNT’s Fashion Design program? Is it worth it for someone starting at 24? open to studying fashion internationally if there are affordable options, but UNT’s in-state tuition makes it appealing.
If you attended UNT’s fashion program or were in a similar situation, what would your advice be? I’d really appreciate honest feedback about the program, costs, and whether you think a second degree is a worthwhile investment!
