| Discussion Is this Brewers Team the best team in baseball in recent memories?
Really hard to say, but this Brewers team might be the best team in baseball in recent memories.
They are fundamentally strong, kept the ball in plays, score runs, pitched well, have solid bullpens, developed players, spend money correctly, well coached, clutch, calm, learned from mistakes, very fun to watch, and more importantly, they win games. Dominantly.
They did everythings the right way and now they are 1 game away from sweeping both Championship and World Series, which is somethin that never been done in 50 years. Crazy feat.
They even traded their ace last free agency and it doesnt seem to be matter at all. Their new ace gonna win this season unnanimously, and I believe they are so far away from done.

| Analysis Batter made 2nd and 3rd out of the inning, has that happened before?
Jake Bauers in last night’s World Series game made 2nd out of the inning (fly out) and also 3rd out (fly out) in same (5th) inning. I don’t recall ever seeing that in my past 45 years of watching MLB games. I’m curious if it’s been done before? I’ve seen hitters make first and last out previously.

| Discussion The World Series is by far the best championship in sports
I was just contemplating my love for baseball. I was thinking if I could watch one major sport championship with or without “my team” playing which and why.
The World Series is by far the most dramatic of all. Every pitch and at bat is like a chess move. The highs and lows are just the most amazing experience.
For context I’m a St Louis Cardinals fan. When we were competitive every post season was amazing for the rivalries. Talking trash to Dodger fans and still finding joy in them losing this season as much as when we beat on Kershaw.
Now, my favorite part of the World Series is showing the fans at critical moments. The tense moments when the game is on the line. Sharing moments of despair or elation of what’s happening based off a singular moment.
I will forever love baseball and the World Series.

| Discussion Has an MLB manager been fired mid-season despite a good record?
In the NBA this has happened a few times. 2016 Cavs were 1st seed in the East but their coach got fired and replaced by the assistant coach. Then the 2024 Bucks were 3rd seed but fired their coach and replaced him with Doc Rivers.
What are some MLB examples of this?

| History Since the LCS changed to a best-of-7 in 1985, no MLB team has swept both the LCS and the World Series in the same playoffs
Tomorrow, the Brewers have the chance to become the first team to ever go 8-0 between the NLCS and the World Series. The last, and only, team to sweep both was the legendary 1976 Cincinnati Reds.
The Brewers can also tie the 1999 Yankees and the 2005 White Sox for the best modern postseason record of all time at 11-1.

| Discussion Brandon Woodruff just got the World Series moment the Brewers put him on the roster for
He hadn't pitched in a game since July 4. Another shoulder surgery was scheduled for August, then a scan showed surprising improvement, so he canceled it and started throwing.
Per MLB.com, his World Series roster spot was a 50-50 tossup, and a setback could have left Milwaukee a man short. He's the longest-tenured Brewer, the guy who homered off Kershaw in relief in 2018 NLCS Game 1.
Up big in Game 3 at Tropicana Field, the ball went to Woodruff for the ninth. The storybook bet paid off in one inning.
Would you have carried him knowing the risk?

| Statistics Brewers' World Series HRs: 1982 vs. 2026
In the 1982 World Series, the Brewers hit 5 home runs over 7 games, with Ted Simmons hitting two, along with home runs from Cecil Cooper, Robin Yount, and Ben Oglivie.
Through the first two games of the 2026 World Series, the Brewers have hit just one home run, courtesy of Sal Frelick in Game 2.
Do you think they'll top their 1982 total of 5 home runs?

| Article [Jim Bowden]: Top 40 MLB free agents for 2026-27: Contract predictions, team fits for Skubal, Peralta, more
1. Tarik Skubal, LHP
2026 Teams: Tigers and Dodgers
Skubal won the American League Cy Young Award in 2024 and 2025. After earning a record arbitration award, he hit a bump in the road early in his free-agent walk season when he had an elbow procedure now dubbed the “Skubal scope” in early May. He returned from the surgery in only six weeks, not soon enough to save the Tigers’ season but plenty early enough for him to put together an outstanding year.
Skubal was traded from the Tigers to the Dodgers at the deadline. Once healthy and settled with L.A., he was the best left-handed starting pitcher in the game to finish the season. For the season, he had a 2.72 ERA in 158 2/3 innings, with 186 strikeouts against only 27 walks. Skubal made two postseason starts for the Dodgers, allowing three runs in 11 innings.
He’s a true ace in his prime years and will be the most sought-after free-agent pitcher for those teams that can afford him. He’ll break all contract records for a free-agent pitcher once he signs.
Salary comps: Shohei Ohtani ($70 million AAV before deferrals); Zack Wheeler ($42 million AAV)
Best team fits: New York Mets, Los Angeles Dodgers, Chicago White Sox
Contract prediction: Anywhere from $350-$500 million depending on length of contract. He will become the highest-paid pitcher in MLB history in terms of AAV and guaranteed dollars.
2. Freddy Peralta, RHP
2026 Teams: Mets and Rays
Peralta finished fifth in the National League Cy Young Award voting in 2025 and was then traded from the Brewers to the Mets in the offseason. Whether it was mechanical issues, pitch usage or sequencing, he never got into a groove with the Mets, posting a 4.99 ERA over 22 starts before being traded to the Rays at the deadline.
Under the leadership of Rays pitching coach Kyle Snyder and one of baseball’s best analytical and scouting departments, Peralta quickly made the necessary changes to get back to his old self. He had a 3.25 ERA in 10 regular-season starts with the Rays before winning the ALCS MVP, setting himself up for a strong free agency.
Despite his struggles in New York, he will enter this winter as the second-best starting pitcher on the open market. He is one of only two starting pitchers who have made at least 30 starts for four consecutive years. I’d like to see him remain in Tampa, but am not sure they’ll be able to play financially at the level it’s going to take to sign him now.
Salary comps: Dylan Cease (7 years, $210 million); Carlos Rodón (6 years, $162 million); Jesús Luzardo (5 years, $135 million); Robbie Ray (5 years, $115 million); Tyler Glasnow (5 years, $136.6 million)
Best team fits: San Diego Padres, Chicago Cubs, Chicago White Sox
Contract prediction: 5 years, $140 million
3. Teruaki Sato, 3B
2026 Team: Hanshin Tigers (NPB)
Sato is set to be the first Japanese position player since Hideki Matsui 23 years ago to win the MVP Award in the Nippon Professional Baseball league and then join an MLB team the next season. Sato won the league’s Triple Crown this year, slashing .306/.383/.609 with 40 doubles, 39 homers and 106 RBIs.
Some teams believe he can stay at third base; others see him as best suited for first base or left field. Either way, the bat profiles for the middle of the order. I think he stays at third base initially and would be a perfect fit for teams like the Phillies, Red Sox, Angels and Yankees, which leads me to believe this will end up being a big-market bidding war.
Salary comps: Alex Bregman (5 years, $175 million); Matt Chapman (6 years, $151 million)
Best team fits: New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox
Contract prediction: 5 years, $180 million
