[BST] October 2026 Buy, Sell, Trade Thread.

Welcome to the monthly r/flashlight Buy, Sell, Trade thread, an r/flashlight tradition since 2015!

The Rules

Requirements

  1. Prove possession with a timestamp: a piece of paper placed under your sale item(s) with your Reddit username handwritten and the posting date (no more than 2 weeks old). Trade items require timestamps, too!
  2. Top-level comments must be WTS or WTB. Anything else will be removed. Begin your top-level comment with WTB (Want to Buy), WTS (Want to Sell), or WTT (Want to Trade).
  3. A price is required.
  4. Repost WTS or WTB items from previous months. Do not repost within the same month!
  5. Absolutely no weapon-related items, including weapon lights. (Since 10/10/2025.)
  6. Take necessary precautions; trading over the Internet is risky. Moderators hold no control over deals, good or bad.

Suggestions

  • Your location identifier ([US] [EU] etc.)
  • Emitter details
  • A bunch of photos of your items
  • If you see an errant comment, report it so we can minimize clutter in this BST!

Reminder: Buy the Seller

If an interaction seems sketchy to you, run away! Scams happen through the BST! Here are some tips:

  • Timestamp. If someone won't provide a timestamp that meets your specification, discontinue the deal.
  • Reverse image searching is a great way to catch scammers.
  • Excuses, rushing, and giving you a hard time are all red flags.
  • Using a platform other than Reddit messaging for communication is a red flag.
  • Check post history. Brand new accounts or accounts with long pauses in activity, etc., might not be trustworthy.
  • It's good practice to comment on this post before sending a PM; scammers often won't comment publicly (and banned users can't comment here.) r/flashlight participates in the USL.

If you're dealing with someone who might be sketchy, report them to the mods and send screenshots of your interactions! We ban those who threaten the integrity of the BST!

Do not let a scammer be more diligent than you!

Tips

Sales Form Recommendation

Just copy the form below and edit it to suit your post! The form has two goals: First, it might simplify listing your items. Second, it should ease browsing and increase sales!

Discussion Spooking coyotes!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Thought of posting this since u/Technical_Feedback74 needed some light recommendations to spot coyotes. Coyote packs run amok in the wooded areas close to my home. In my experience, red is better to spot them in terms of stealth but blinding white light (candela>lumens) always gets their attention. Convoy M21a with sft25r is what's being used here. They're atleast about 100m out.

Review M21B lhp73b 5000k

This is my second M21B lhp73b so I had to try it in 5000k. It surly didn't disappoint. I put the metal tail peace on it to try it. I like it but I don't know why it doesn't have memory mode now. The only thing I can say negative about it is that it gets warm pretty fast but it's plenty bright in lower levels so it's still a nice flashlight.

Flashlight News Anduril release 2026-10-26 - *heavy breathing*

New release.

When updating, make sure the model number matches before flashing, and be sure to erase the eeprom (or do a factory reset after flashing).

This release is mostly just new models and hardware-specific fixes. Also some internal build system stuff. If your models aren't on the list, there is no need to update.

New lights:

  • Added &hank-lume-x1-32w (0282). Same as hank-lume-x1, but limited to 70% power.

  • Added &hank-lume-x1-c-32w (0284). Same as hank-lume-x1-c, but limited to 70% power.

  • Added &fireflies-lume10 (0453). Includes aw2016 chip for dimmable RGB aux, plus powerbank host mode, and single-level DD FET turbo.

  • Added &fireflies-lume1-6af-nofet (0452). Same as lume1-6af, but without the single-level DD FET turbo. Some models use this, and it can be kind of nice even on lights which have the FET installed.

Hardware-specific changes:

  • Added breathing modes to lights with a aw2016 chip (lume-x1-c, lume10). Works in standby modes. Options include "breathing", "fast breathing", and for the degenerates out there (you know who you are), there is also "heavy breathing".

These are Off -> 7C patterns, so they can be combined with Off -> 7H colors like red, blue, rainbow, voltage, etc. Note that "disco breathing" is a little glitchy, but harmless.

  • Fixed battery measurement on &lumintop-fw3x-lume1. It broke when I did the voltage rewrite.

  • &hank-lume-x1 and &hank-lume-x1-c have a higher default smooth ramp floor, at Hank's request. Users will need to lower it if they want firefly modes.

  • Fixed glitchy party strobe on &fireflies-lume1-6af.

General:

  • Documentation: Clarified what a "0" means in the aux low/high ramp level config.

Build / dev tools:

  • Updated Atmel DFP / Microchip DFP versions to the most recent releases which actually work. Tested every release to figure out what's good.

  • Added DFP environment var, to keep things consistent when working with multiple worktrees. export ANDURIL_DFP_PATH="$HOME/src/anduril/arch/dfp"

  • Added explicit erase flag to avrdude commands, to reduce cases of users retaining old eeprom after flashing new firmware.

Make sure to erase the eeprom while flashing. And if the light doesn't work after flashing, try doing a factory reset. Some flashing programs apparently don't erase the eeprom, so a manual factory reset may be required. The most reliable method for this is "loosen tailcap, hold button, tighten tailcap, keep holding until the animation finishes (about 4-5 seconds)". Or if a tailcap reset is physically not possible, and an eeprom erase isn't an option either, "Off -> 13H" may still work.

No a huge fan of the laser etching on the battery tube of SK06. It just ruins the sleek look - "Don't stare at the beam". Seriously?!? Anyways - faux carbon-fiber vinyl wrap (self-adhesive) took care of it and now IMHO looks better.

Beamshot How I got my 21mm TIR to fit s21e.

• Upvotes

Just a tip, I got a 15 degree beaded lens for my Convoy s21e, and was frustrated with the bezel not screwing down all the way. A little sanding to the base of the TIR fixed everything perfect! All gaskets and seals along with main glass fit.
SFT42r with the 15 degree lens makes a really fantastic wide and punchy edc beam.
Sorry for shit photos I did the best I could while working.

Wurkkos TS32 is Discontinued

I am truly disappointed that the TS32 is gone. I already have one but I like to recommend it. One of it's primary features was that it had two sets of emitters - flood and throw - and they could both be activated at the same time if desired. And also multiple batteries.

It's still available on Amazon but the price is ugly.

I know the Convoy 3x21D is the hot setup for this type of light but the TS32 was about half it's size and had the flood option.

I asked Wurkkos CS if it was discontinued and got the following reply -

"Dear Customer,

Thank you for your interest in our product.

We’re sorry to let you know that this model has been discontinued, and we currently do not have plans to produce it again in the future. We understand it can be disappointing when a product you are interested in is no longer available."

Im curious as to what lights people would recommend for night rowing. Preferably: easily mountable, waterproof to a couple meters, usb C rechargeable, white light, more flood than throw. Thanks!

Convoy S2 plus red light help

Does anybody know how to go about ordering a convoy S2 plus but with a LUMINUS SST-20-DR deep red LED?

Their site doesn't list this as an option but I have read somewhere if you stick this in the order notes they will make this up for me, has anyone else done this in the past? I just want to make sure before I order it that's all.

Just come across convoy torches and the fact you can configure them has blown my mind 😂 I fear I may end up with quite a few of these torches

Review Convoy T9 Tan: W5050SQ5 4000K Rosy LED, 2x14500/AA batteries thrower

Thumbnail
gallery
48 Upvotes

This is the Convoy T9 a 2x 14500/AA flashlight with the LMP W5050SQ5 4000K LED, full aluminum body, featuring a Buck regulated constant current driver and more!

• Where to get it and Price

The Convoy T9 Tan with W5050SQ5 is currently priced at $22.04 on Convoy Official Website.

• My opinion

The T9 is like a throwy version of the T4, with a 3V 6A Buck driver and a bigger reflector to increase throw, the 2x 14500/AA design makes this flashlight very versatile and brighter with AAs than single battery designs, in addition to have longer runtimes. The W5050SQ5 LED in 4000K surprised me, it's very powerful, much like a SFT40, but with a much better rosy tint.

Some things I disliked about this flashlight were the abscence of a proper moonlight mode, the 1% mode is too bright, even when using AAs, probably more than 10 Lumens; for some reason, when using AAs on the 1% it has a strange slightly noticeable flickering, I'm not sure if this is a problem with my unit or across all units; also, it doesn't feature reverse polarity protection.

PROS CONS
Buck constant current efficient driver Doesn't have a dim moonlight mode, 1% is too bright even with AAs
Dual fuel feature makes it really versatile on emergencies Flickering on 1% with AAs
More powerful with AAs than single battery designs No reverse polarity protection for any battery
No PWM
W5050SQ5 LED in 4000K has a very pleasant tint, even though it has low CRI

• Box contents [7th picture]

- T9

- Lanyard

• Body and build quality

Packaging: This flashlight comes in a pretty simple cardboard box, the flashlight and Lanyard are wrapped inside with bubble wrap.

Anodizing Colors/Material Options: The T9 is currently only available in Aluminum alloy with 4 anodozing colors: Black, Tan (featured on this review), Dark Green and Orange.

Main body/Grip/Size: The tail, battery tube and head all have knurling to improve grip, the grip is good, even when wet. The head also has grooves for heat dissipation. It's slightly bigger than the Convoy T4, with a bigger reflector - the T8 reflector - and head, increasing throw.

Material: The entire main body is made of an aluminum alloy - most probably 6061-T6.

Threads: All threads are trapezoidal, only the tail cap and bezel threads are anodized. The driver part of the battery tube threads aren't anodized, and they're pretty long.

Clip: The flashlight doesn't come with a clip. A stainless steel screw-in clip is available to be bought on Convoy website.

Tail stand and rolling: The flashlight rolls a lot, it has some edges that slightly slow down the rolling, but still rolls a lot. It can head/tail stand, though tail stand is not much stable.

Magnet: No magnet by default on this flashlight.

AUX lights: No AUX lights are present on this flashlight.

Buttons: This flashlight has a reverse click mechanical tail switch covered by a black silicone boot, this means that giving a half click while the flashlight is OFF will do nothing, but when it's ON it will cycle between brightness levels, SOS, battery check and other depending on the selected mode.

Battery contact: Contact is made with the battery by a gold-plated button contact on the driver and a phosphor-bronze gold-plated spring on the tail cap. I usually prefer springs on both ends to reduce the impact on the battery when the flashlight is dropped, but this button contact seems large enough to not dent the battery easily. [8th picture]

Bezel: It has a aluminum crenelated bezel with 6 trapezoidal shapes on it, it would be nice to see a stainless steel bezel on this flashlight instead of an aluminum one.

Water Resistance: Convoy flashlights usually don't have the IP rating, but all Convoy flashlights I already tested were decently protected to water ingress; The T9 follows the same pattern, it's probably better sealed than some IP68 flashlights I own. I belive the T6 to be at least IP67 with all threads greased and fully tightened - if not IP68, as all water ingress points have o-rings.

Size comparison: From left to right:
Convoy T4 Brass (2x14500) - Convoy T9 (2x14500) - Convoy T6 TiCu (14500) [9th picture]

• Weight and size

Weight:

- With battery (2x Vapcell K10): 131.5g

- Without battery: 91.8g

- Battery (Vapcell K10): 1x = 20.0g, 2x = 40.0g

Size: 162.6mm x 32.0mm x 21.0mm - (height x head diamter x tail diameter)

• Battery, runtime, and charging

Battery: The T9 is powered by 2x14500 Li-ion cells or 2xAA (Alkalines, NiMH...) batteries, as it has the dual fuel feature. This makes this flashlight very versatile, and more powerful using AAs than most single AA designs. I recommend at least 4A CDR for best performance. [10th picture]

Battery Indicator: It does not feature a color battery indicator, but a "battery check" mode is featured on some mode group configurations on the UI.

Powerbank/Reverse charging: No powerbank featured on this flashlight.

Charging: This flashlight doesn't feature charging on body, so you have to rely on battery chargers or batteries with USB-C charging (Li-ion).

• Modes, Runtimes, Throw, Candela

Modes: The T9 has the 12 groups driver, it comes pre-configured on group 1, which has 1%, 10%, 30% and 100% brightness levels. Other brightness levels - like 20%, 35%, 50% and blinkies - are available on the other brightness groups that can be configured on the flashlight UI.

Measurements:

Level Brightness (Lumens - Estimated) Current (2x Vapcell K10 4.09V, total Voltage = 8.18V ) Current ( 2x Panasonic Alkaline AA 1.46V ) Lux (at 2m - 30s) Candela Throw (ANSI NEMA FL1 Standard) Throw (Conservative usable throw estimate - 50% of the ANSI NEMA throw)
1% - 27.8mA 13.7mA 459 lx 1836cd 85m 43m
10% - 230mA 122.2mA 4004 lx 16016cd 253m 126m
30% - 910mA 430mA 11594 lx 46376 cd 430m 215m
100% 1500 Lumens 3.54A 3.83A 25304 lx 101216 cd 636m 318m

Turbo: The 100% is essentially Turbo, the official information from Convoy says the maximum current is 6A at 3V for this driver. It's pretty bright, and powerful, at the rated power it should reach about 1500 Lumens.

Moonlight: This flashlight, sadly, doesn't feature a good moonlight mode, the 1% mode is too bright. The only way to make it a little dimmer is to use AAs, it's still a bit bright, but a little better than with 14500.

Blinkies: Tactical Strobe, SOS and battery check are featured on some group modes.

Lockout: This light only features mechanical lockout by unscrewing the tail cap a little. The mechanical button is the "lockout" of this flashlight.

Throw: There is no official advertised throw, but by the ratings I got were pretty good, around 300m for ANSI NEMA FL1 throw.

• Emitter, reflector and CRI

Emitter: This T9 has the LMP W5050SQ5 LED in 4000K, the emitter is pretty throwy, very similar to the SFT40 in shape and beam. The 4000K variant has a pretty rosy tint, being very pleasant and not greenish. The LED is very efficient and offers a pretty good tint, only lacks in CRI. [11th and 12th picture]

Lens: It features AR-coated glass lens that protect the reflector and LED.

Reflector/TIR: A smooth reflector with 26.5mm of diameter and 23mm of height.

Beam profile: The beam has a pretty clean spill with not much noticeable artifacts, and a focused strong hotspot that throws far, with a slightly smooth transition. [13th picture]

PWM: I didn't get any PWM on any tested mode of the T9 (1%, 10%, 30% and 100%), seems to be totally free of PWM, also, this supports to it having a Buck driver. **The 1% mode with AAs has slightly visible flickering, I am not sure if it's a problem with my unit or a general problem with the driver.

CRI-CCT-DUV: The CRI is pretty standard, I measured around 75 CRI, with very low R9, around negative to 7 R9; CCT was pretty close, getting around 3860K on the lowest mode and increasing to a maximum of 4400K on the highest; Duv is rosy, below BBL, scoring -0.0027 on Level 1, -0.0053 on Level 2 and increasing it slightly on higher modes. (The readings pictures are from Level 2) [14th to 16 picture]

• Driver and UI

Driver: The T9 features a Buck driver that delivers 3V 6A to the LED,

UI: The T9 uses the standard Convoy tail switch UI.

State Action Result
- Full click Turns Flashlight ON/OFF
ON Half click Cycles between modes
ON ~20 half clicks Enter configuration mode
In configuration mode Full click on 1st "buzz" Enter group selector
In configuration mode Full click on 2nd "buzz" Disable or enable mode memory
In group selector Full click when desired group is choosen Select brightness group

Low Voltage Protection/Warning: The main light will start blinking and dimming down when the battery voltage is low, until the light automatically turns OFF when the battery voltage is too low - only works with 14500s, AAs don't have this protection, as they are disposable.

Reverse Polarity Protection: NO reverse polarity protection. Be careful when inserting batteries.

Temperature Control: The T9 has standard Convoy Temperature control, so when the driver reaches about 55°C the flashlight will begin to step down. The step down seems to only be down to 30%, so the flashlight can still heat up, even after the step down, under certain conditions.

Thank you for reading my review <3

A special thanks to Simon and Convoy for sending this flashlight for me to review!

Question For a 30-minute dog walk, do peak lumens matter more than a nice steady beam?

• Upvotes

When watching the pavement, finding something dropped, or briefly checking farther ahead, each may call for different lighting.
Peak lumens are easy to compare, but the setting that you actually use, I believe beam coverage, and grip deserve attention too.
I have noticed the warsun T9PRO lists a 1500-lumen burst and a 1000-lumen High mode with a 6‒12-hour runtime that varies by setting. Not necessarily meaning maximum brightness lasts that long: a clear mode-by-mode sustained-output curve is still needed.
My question is: for regular evening dog walks, what setting do you actually use? Do you prioritize lighting the ground, checking ahead, one-handed operation, or avoiding having to adjust along the way? If possible, I’d like specific situations. For they are more helpful than maximum lumen numbers alone.

Gift Advice

Hello!

I’m looking for a gift for my lovely partner who is my favourite person. They love a good flashlight and I’ve perused the subreddit but having a hard time knowing where to begin!!

They currently have a small flashlight from Skillhunt (not sure which one, it is about 3 inches long, can clip to a bag and headlamp attachment and the light comes from the side). The rest of his flashlights are random buys from hardware or dollar stores.

Through casual conversation I’ve been able to get some of his wishlist requirements:

1) light that comes from the end of the flashlight rather than the side
2) good colour fidelity
3) general purpose/wide use cases - he likes to take walks at night, putter around our yard, do home Reno projects

Looking for something in the $50-150 range. We are in Canada which I believe impacts some shipping but I have relatives in the US who could also help me order if needed. Thank you!!!!!

NEBO really isn't that great. I mean the old one the side piece ripped out before I ever could use it. I had to make my own button for it. Then I get a new one and the glass on the laser isn't even there. You can tell where its supposed to sit. I didn't buy these, they were given to me at my job.

New one on the left, old on right.

Convoy Order was delivered - here's some beans

Here you go u/njbillk1

I asked the community a couple weekends ago for some driver recs for my first Convoy order and here's the beans. I am really impressed with the S21E. It's not that big and puts out impressive light. I'll be adding a few more of them for the cars. The C8+ is probably my second favorite because of the size. The other two toss some impressive light, with the L21A being more of a party light or something and the M21K being more floody. For reference, the chicken coupe is about 50 yrds and the tree is around 100 yrds. I am going to need to add some lights once I stop blowing money on other hobbies 😂

Question 14500 button top cells

Earlier this year i bought a Tac AA 2 I love the little light nothing super bright but more than enough for night walks but I was under impressed with the 14500 rechargeable cell got 1 hour of battery life off of it. On max. So I bought 5 vapecell 15s and now im getting 1.5-2 hours of battery run time. My question is is there a better 14500 available willing to try something different.
