Desktop Web "You've been blocked by network security." again (Firefox/old.reddit)
This happened last year sometime, too. Trying to go to old.reddit.com on firefox brings up "You've been blocked by network security".

[Note, this IS NOT a request to re-instate a banned account or to remove a suspension, this is about a bug I discovered as a side effect of that.]
On October 24th I posted a comment which criticized someone else for posting a slur on Twitter (I quoted them accurately but censored the slur; however, it still probably tripped Reddit's text filters) and got this suspension notice:
Banned 3-days for hate
We flagged the following as a potential policy violation:
However, at the time, the comment had been removed by Reddit. (I appealed and the comment got restored.)
The bug, however, is that the link in question pointed to the comment, which had been deleted, which means if you click on the link it just says "Removed by Reddit".
This seems like a bug, if the point is to inform the user of what they posted that triggered the ban, but if they click on the link, the content is not there.
One fix would be for the system to copy and paste the offending text into the notification that is sent to the user.

I’m experiencing a serious bug with the Reddit iOS app that has effectively locked me out of my account.
I had just opened Reddit, made one comment, and attempted to change my profile banner (cover photo).
Immediately after attempting to upload the banner, the app began malfunctioning and rapidly flashing repeated error messages. It became so bad that I had to force-close the app.
When I reopened it, I received these messages:
• “Looks like Reddit is having some trouble.”
• “Your request has been rate limited, please take a break for…”
The rate-limit message now appears immediately whenever I open Reddit, preventing me from accessing my feed, profile, or settings.
I was NOT spamming, repeatedly commenting, or refreshing pages. I had only made one comment before attempting to change my profile banner.
It appears that the banner upload triggered an error loop, possibly generating repeated requests that caused Reddit’s rate-limiting system to restrict my account.
I’ve attached a screenshot of the error.
Is there a way to get this restriction removed? I shouldn’t be locked out of my account because of an apparent app malfunction.
Device: iPhone
Platform: iOS
App: Official Reddit iOS app

Hello,
I am writing to express my deep disappointment with the recent changes to the mobile web version of Reddit. Forcing users to download the official app by blocking or limiting access via mobile browsers is an aggressive and user-unfriendly practice.
I value my freedom of choice, privacy, and digital hygiene. Due to this artificial restriction and aggressive tracking push, I have decided to completely stop using Reddit.
Please pass this feedback to the product management team. Users should have the right to choose how they access the platform without being forced into installing software.
Best regards,
Alexey

The post upvote/downvote count does not seem to display any number below 0. The comment upvote/downvote count continues to display negative numbers, but the post count always stops at 0.

No matter what you do—whether it’s clearing the cache, wiping data, or restarting the app—if you choose not to receive notifications for a comment or post, the notifications continue to appear for the user.
App version: 2026.42.0

My email address has been verified since I created my account, and Old Reddit settings explicitly confirm "email (verified)."
However, moderator tools incorrectly report my email as unverified, and the Verified Email trophy is missing from my profile.
I've never changed my email address. Could you please investigate this discrepancy and correct my account's verification status?
I can provide a screenshot confirming the verified status.
Thank you for your help!

I just witnessed an upstream service return a service unavailable. Will reddit report this on the status page or will reddit continue lying about its SLA?

I was trying to post a photo & realized that I needed to grant “allow all” permission. I did but nothing changed.
I switched back to “selected only” & updated which photos were included. Nothing changed.
It will still let me upload videos that it no longer has permission for (?) but will not update the photos selected.
The ones I deselected were removed but it won’t add anything.
I cleared my local history, logged out, restarted my iPad several times. Nothing.
The real kicker? When I try to upload pictures to this subreddit the permission is different from other subreddits.
It currently will let me upload any photo in my library here despite only having limited permission.
But in another subreddit it’s stuck on photos selected from a week+ ago & won’t update. It still displays videos that are not selected.
When I selected these pics to upload it had me confirm that I only wanted selected photos to just turn around & grant itself permission to all photos again…
Pic 1: videos it does not have permissions for anymore but won’t remove
Pic 2: my entire photo album being displayed after re-confirming I only wanted selected permission…
What’s going on with photo permissions?

The quality of videos often suddenly drops halfway through, even with fast internet connection. I've had this issue for a while, and updates didn't change anything so far. I'm using the Reddit app on Android, no third-party.

My Reddit account is approximately five years old, and I've been able to initiate chats without any problems until recently.
Suddenly, after sending approximately one new chat request, Reddit started displaying the message that my account "isn't established enough" to initiate new chats.
Account Details:
- Platform: Android (Samsung)
- Reddit App Version: 2026.42.00
- Account Age: Approximately 5 years
- Contributor Quality Score (CQS): Moderate
- Email Verification: Verified
- Account Standing: No suspension or restrictions according to Reddit's official appeals page
Troubleshooting I've Already Done:
- Confirmed my email address is verified.
- Checked my CQS, which is Moderate.
- Checked Reddit's appeals page, which confirms my account is neither suspended nor restricted.
- Attempted to initiate chats through both the Android app and Google Chrome. Neither worked.
- Confirmed that I can still participate in existing conversations.
Expected Behavior:
I should be able to initiate new chat conversations, as I've been doing for years.
Actual Behavior:
Reddit prevents me from initiating any new chats and claims my account isn't established enough, despite my account age, verification status, and established history.
Request:
Could a Reddit administrator please investigate whether my account has been incorrectly flagged by the chat eligibility or reputation system?
This issue appeared suddenly without any apparent violations or changes to my account. I'd appreciate assistance identifying the cause and restoring my ability to initiate chats.
Thank you.

Help?!??

Last week, I uploaded a profile photo and banner. They saved successfully and were visible on my profile on 3–4 visits. They have since disappeared. Now I can’t change my profile photo or banner, or create posts on my profile. Reddit shows: “Server error. Try again later.”
I also can’t find my profile when checking Reddit in an Incognito window. I haven’t received an account warning by email. A separate help post I made was removed by Reddit’s filters; I don’t know whether that is related.
Could you check whether this is a profile bug or an account-specific issue?
Username: u/RedInvestGroup
Device model: Lenovo 83A1
Operating system: Windows 11
Browser: Google Chrome, version not yet checked
Steps to reproduce:
Expected result: The change or post saves, and the profile is visible.
Actual result: Reddit shows “Server error. Try again later.” The profile photos are missing, and I can’t find the profile in Incognito.
