The information below has been written to cover Windows 10 or Windows 11 users, as this will cover the overwhelming majority of users. If you use a Linux distribution, you may wish to use the appropriate forum, subreddit or Discord server for your corresponding distribution.
If you are experiencing any issues, including, but not limited to; games or programs crashing, system crashes, hangs, blue screens of death (BSoD), driver timeouts, system not starting, system freezes, data corruption, system shutting down unexpectedly, visual artifacts, lower than expected performance or any other issue, try the following before making a post — the majority of problems can be resolved by trying the steps listed below.
The suggestions below are not necessarily in any particular order. If a step has already been performed or is not relevant, move to the next step.

The utilities linked below will help you stress test and monitor system information, such as CPU and GPU clock speeds, voltages, temperatures, fan speeds, power usage, load and similar.
Some motherboards, laptops and desktops may have built-in BIOS diagnostic utilities to stress test certain components or the entire system. Consult your motherboard or system manual for more information.
A truly stable system should be able to run any of these utilities or built-in diagnostics without any crashes, freezes, errors or other issues. These utilities can help you narrow down which component(s) in your system are faulty, aren't installed correctly or have unstable overclocks, underclocks, overvolts, undervolts, custom power curves etc...
If you require help using any of these programs, read the help sections on each website or use Google and YouTube, as there are a plethora of guides and tutorials available. You can also use AI language models like ChatGPT, Claude, Grok, Gemini and others, which can provide answers to common questions, provide troubleshooting advice and point you in the right direction.
If you have tried all of the above and are still facing the same issue, it could be a corrupt operating system. Backup any important files or data and perform a clean installation of Windows using a USB.
Only use Windows images that come directly from Microsoft.
Windows Images acquired from non-official sources, especially stripped and debloated images of Windows or scripts and programs that strip and debloat Windows can contain malware, strip crucial Windows components or services and have other issues. For troubleshooting and diagnostic purposes, always use official Windows images that come directly from Microsoft.
The latest Windows 10 and Windows 11 ISO images can be downloaded from the Microsoft Software Download page. You can create a bootable USB or DVD by using the Media Creation Tool. You will need a blank USB or DVD that has at least 8GB free space.
If you have done all the above steps and are still facing the same issue, follow the template below for submitting a request. The more detail you can include the better. If you post something like "pc crashes" or don't list your PC specifications, then don't expect a response, as there's not enough useful information to go on and it will be assumed you haven't read this post or tried any of the steps outlined above.
Below is an example template you could use...
Summary of the issue: LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight will crash if you enable Radeon Image Sharpening and have V-Sync enabled with Adrenalin 26.9.2. This is not an issue if you revert to Adrenalin 26.9.1.
What I've tried to solve the issue: I have reinstalled 26.9.2 with the AMD Cleanup Utility, reset my in-game graphics settings, verified game files in Steam and tried enabling Radeon Image Sharpening again.
System specifications:
If you are using a prebuilt PC or don't know your full specifications, include as much information as you can, e.g, HP Z2 Mini G1a workstation with an AMD Ryzen AI MAX+ PRO 395, AMD Radeon 8060S Graphics, 128GB RAM, 2TB SSD and Windows 11.
Include links for any logs, dump files, crash or error messages, videos, screenshots or other material you have.

21/10/2026.UPDATE: VideoCardz just picked up this story and made it front-page news!
A massive thank you to WhyCry and the VideoCardz team for bringing visibility to this issue, and to everyone in this community for the incredible support.
This was never just about a warranty stamp—it’s about firmware stability and security for all RX 7000 owners. Hopefully, Gigabyte steps up now and does the right thing by releasing the missing VBIOS.
Thank you all for having my back!
26/10/2026 update : workaround at the end of post. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Hi everyone,
I wanted to share a frustrating situation regarding the Gigabyte Radeon RX 7900 XTX Gaming OC (24GB) and get some feedback from the community, as well as bring awareness to how Gigabyte is handling support for their flagship Navi 31 GPUs.
1. The Problem: Driver TDRs & Firmware Desync
Driver 25.9.1 (Older branch): Flawless stability. Zero crashes, perfect frame pacing, rock-solid in low-latency competitive titles like Warzone.
Driver 26.x.x (Newer branches, including 26.6.2 / 26.8.1): Constant driver timeouts (TDRs), black screens, and game crashes under heavy low-latency workloads.
This points directly to a conflict between the aggressive power states / PCIe bus scheduling introduced in recent AMD Adrenalin drivers and the factory VBIOS microcode.
2. AMD-SN-6023 Advisory & Partner Response
AMD issued the AMD-SN-6023 notice regarding firmware/security mitigations for the RX 7000 series.
While partners like Sapphire quickly rolled out updated VBIOS binaries for their 7900 XTX lineup (which community members on Reddit confirmed completely fixed the 26.x.x driver crashes and TDRs across the board), Gigabyte has only updated lower-tier cards (RX 7600, 7700, 7800) on their support page, completely neglecting their top-tier $1,000+ flagship model.
3. Gigabyte eSupport Response: The "Out of Warranty" Cop-Out
I submitted a detailed technical ticket to Gigabyte eSupport explaining the TDRs, referencing the AMD-SN-6023 advisory, and asking if an engineering/beta VBIOS was available to align the power delivery handshake with modern drivers.
Their response was an automated template that:
Told me to download outdated graphics drivers directly from Gigabyte's product page.
Stated that because the card is "out of warranty," they cannot help and I should contact a paid local repair shop.
A VBIOS/firmware update to match an official chipmaker advisory and fix driver compatibility is a software/firmware maintenance issue, not a physical RMA hardware defect. Expecting customers to stay on ancient GPU drivers forever just because the hardware warranty expired is absurd for an enthusiast-grade flagship card.
4. Questions for the Community:
Has anyone with a Gigabyte RX 7900 XTX managed to get a newer/beta VBIOS from support by escalating further?
Are other board partners (ASRock, PowerColor, ASUS) releasing VBIOS updates for 7900 XTX cards, or is Gigabyte the only one dragging its feet on their flagship?
I have requested a formal Tier-2/Engineering escalation on my ticket. I'll update this post if Gigabyte decides to take technical responsibility.
WORKAROUND:
Hey, I want to share that for me it wasn't a HAGS or browser issue, it was direct driver timeouts in games like Warzone on the 26.6.4 driver. I found a solid workaround: by capping the max frequency down to around 2829–2830 MHz, it completely stops crashing and finishes matches fine. Even with my VRAM pushed to 2714 MHz with Fast Timing enabled, it remains rock solid.
Beyond just stopping timeouts, lowering that top frequency ceiling actually helps overall stability: it prevents the front-end core clock from racing too far ahead, allowing the shader clock to stay much closer in sync.
The core issue with the 26.x branch compared to 25.x is how aggressively the new drivers drop voltage during load fluctuations while the core is still trying to boost to extreme highs, starving the silicon on stock VBIOS tables unless you reign in that top end.
To add a bit more detail on why this happens: on the 25.x branch, my card could easily hit 3000 MHz or more without ever crashing because the driver maintained a natural safety gap between the front-end core clock and the rest of the pipeline when scaling up.
However, on the 26.x branch, AMD changed how aggressively they couple those clocks, pushing them to stay extremely close together even at peak boosts. The moment load dips slightly and voltage drops, as soon as the load picks right back up, the voltage becomes completely insufficient for that tightly forced state, resulting in a sudden driver timeout unless you cap that top-end frequency.
Even when you lower that core clock frequency on the 26.6.4 driver, you aren't losing any latency or FPS. On the contrary, you actually gain stability because the shader clock, which is a hidden value not shown in standard monitoring software, can run much more evenly and in sync with the core.
I've been researching, and with what I learned, I've applied it and it turns out that it works. Otherwise, if we leave the frequency without limit, the shaderclock will attempt to climb as high as the coreclock, and due to the failure of the VBIOS table (which is not designed to match the coreclock-shader clock) there is an excursion of the stable values of the voltage-frequency on the top and last part of the curve that is in the VBIOS.
