Beltway Bandits - Horde PvP
There are several more which I am happy to add to this post, mention them in your comments!

I'm a skater and I live in NW DC, and I'm starting a campaign to build a skatepark in the fort reno/Tenleytown area. I was looking at this open grass area at 4800 reno rd, and I was wondering if anyone had any knowledge about this plot? I also wanted to know if you guys support this project, or if there are any other skaters interested in helping. If you are opposed, please say so as well, I want to know what the community thinks of this idea. I was thinking this plot could be repurposed into a park with a skatepark, a fenced off dog park, and a large grassy area for sports/picnics. I also wanted to know if anyone has any recommendations on who I should contact for the proposal. If you are curious why a skatepark is needed, it is because the nearest one is a ways away and not good quality anyways, and it would be built right near Jackson Reed hs, Deal ms, and murch es, so kids would have a place to hang out after school. Also when skaters don't have skateparks, they tend to skate on other public property often causing damage and causing conflicts with other people. Let me know what you guys think!

Twice this evening, I saw a black cat wandering around different parts of Takoma with no owner present. It had a collar on and was very comfortable with humans (tried to follow me both times). I saw it at 9th St NW & Butternut St NW (9:00 PM) and Highland Ave NW & Piney Branch Rd NW (10:00 PM).
I couldn’t get close to check the collar for information because I’m severely allergic to cats.

I was out walking around the neighborhood yesterday afternoon, and made the mistake of getting myself caught in sidewalk traffic in front of Yellow in Georgetown. In addition to the normal nice weather line at Yellow, there were folks asking for photos with a guy who happened to be leaning against the jersey barrier right there. People around me were saying "I didn't recognize him at first" and "My brother is gonna be so jealous".
I'm just curious if anyone was there and knew who the heck the dude was. The quick glance I took, he kinda sorta looked like Jon Bernthal from The Punisher movies.

Hey DC, I'm a 27-year-old Black woman, separated for over a year now and finally ready to put myself back out there. I've realized I tend to click better with men who are a bit older, usually late 30s to 40s, 50’s. I'm also open to interracial dating, so I'm not limiting myself there.
I haven't really tried dating apps and I'd rather meet people in person anyway, so I'm trying to figure out where people actually connect around here. Bars, lounges, events, classes, run clubs, volunteer groups, whatever. Where do older, more established guys tend to hang out in the city?
Any spots or neighborhoods you'd recommend (or avoid)?

Anyone know of any DC area bakeries that have cardamom buns? Like the Swedish knot-shaped pastry. Thanks!

The other week there was a post about the hilariously bad AI-generated photos that Crack Fish and Chicken uses. I hate slop as much as anyone, but I was curious about the food. I had the fish sandwich combo and a side of Mac & Cheese. Everything was good, and they gave you a lot for your money. I think it's actually one of the better carryout deals on H Street. I thought the sandwich was reasonably photogenic, or at least as photogenic as a carryout fish sandwich can be. I've got no idea why they didn't just take photos of their food, but I plan to return in spite of the weird AI pictures.

Hey everyone!
I’m preparing to purchase my first home in Washington, DC, using the Home Purchase Assistance Program (HPAP), and I’m looking for a realtor who has direct experience helping buyers successfully close on homes using HPAP.
I’d love to hear from people who have gone through the process themselves, as well as realtors who have helped clients use the program.
A few things I’m hoping to learn:
• Your experience with HPAP: How smooth or difficult was the process, and what should I know before getting under contract?
• Homes you’ve closed on: If you’re a realtor, I’d love to hear about properties you’ve successfully helped clients purchase using HPAP, particularly single-family homes or rowhouses.
• Finding the right property: How did you find homes that worked with the program, and were there any challenges with sellers, negotiations, financing, or closing timelines?
• Realtor recommendations: If you purchased with HPAP, would you recommend your realtor? If you’re an agent who regularly works with HPAP buyers, I’d love to connect.
I’m looking for someone who understands the process firsthand, communicates well, and can help me navigate the home search through closing.
If you’re a realtor with HPAP experience, please DM your website, LinkedIn, Instagram, or brokerage profile below. If you’re a past HPAP buyer, I’d really appreciate hearing about your experience and any recommendations you have.
Thanks in advance! I’m looking forward to connecting with people who can help me make this happen.

I live in a rowhouse in NW DC (so no backyard and no car) and am looking to start composting all my food waste because our house produces a lot. I've seen composting bins around the city that you can enter a passcode to use. Is there a central composting resource? Does the city hand out individual bins for single apartments to collect our compost first?

Got an assessment for a house im looking to buy and there is a gigantic ToH right in the back yard. Issue is that part of it is also in the neighbor’s yard but theyd have to cut through the fence to get to it. Neighbor’s place looks unmaintained for the most part, it’s like a junkyard back there so not sure if it’s worth talking to them about it. Ultimately im fine with the cost of take the whole thing out, those lantern flies freak me out!
Also, the tree professionals I’ve spoken to unfortunately will not do the hack and squirt method, they just grind to a stump but even then, cannot grind the entire stump due to part of it being in the neighbor’s yard on the other side of their fence. Not really sure how to handle this because I dont want the tree sprouts coming up even more. My yard is small so I can find the sprouts and poison them as they come up I guess. Any suggestions?
