Stressing as this is my big one currently out — it closed Friday, but I’m wondering if anyone has heard anything about interviews yet? Will probably return to this thread over the next month to post updates/discuss

Hello y'all, has anyone heard back any new information about the State Department Summer 2027 Internship? Obviously the date for contact was a few weeks ago but I'm still waiting. Has anyone's status changed? Or what is the usual delayed timeline in the past?

I didn't check until the October 9th application deadline but ever since then my USAJOBS posting has just said "Application Received; Grade 04, no comment"; does this mean I haven't been referred to a consideration stage and I should assume I've been rejected? I know a few people have mentioned the default No Comment marker doesn't really mean anything about acceptance, but I've seen some people's application said they were not referred to the next stage?

Didn't think I'll get the internship anyway given the competitiveness but now the delay is making me antsy; I just want to KNOW that "unfortunately, given the strong pool of applicants..." so I can move on mentally.

I applied to a bunch of people, so far I've only heard back from one member from the US House of Representatives.

Hi y’all I was finishing up my application right now for a congressional internship & when I went to submit around 8:10 CT, it said the application was closed. I know for a fact the deadline was today and was actually extended (was supposed to close last Monday.) I sent an email to the person in charge but she’s out of office until Wednesday. I’m actually so sad, I put a lot of effort into my app and would hate to see it go to waste. Any suggestions? Would it really be counted against me if they didn’t specify a time?

I'm going to just assume I've been ghosted but has anyone heard back from them?

Has anyone heard back from his office yet?

trying to do some interview prep! what kind of questions might they ask? asking for senate, house, and committees :)

I cold-applied for an internship with my home-state senator, and they reached out to schedule an interview! What kind of questions do they normally ask? I had applied for the general/legislative internship

Does anyone know if interviews for Padilla’s office are offered all at once?

Had my summer 2027 internship for CADP in Chicago super day last Friday. Wasn’t sure if anyone heard back or when I should expect to since it isn’t IB?

Title. They said applications would be sent in late September but there’s nothing yet.

I'm curious to know how many internship applications house/senate offices receive, particularly during the summer vs spring/fall.

Has anyone received an offer for BPC spring internships?

i’m a student in the DC area originally from MN hoping to apply to congressional internships for the spring 2027 cycle, but neither of my senators are running for reelection. in this situation, should i apply for their offices/will future senators honor that or do offices that have just been elected open spring applications after midterms?? lmk if anyone has had experience in a situation like this!!

Hi all, just posting on here to see if anyone else has heard anything back regarding the SCOTUS intern program for Spring 2027. I know around this point in the timeline they were sending out interviews for Fall 2026 so wanted to see if people had heard anything yet

DC event details: October 24th from 10:30am-1:30pm at Spark Social. Here is the sign up link.

We also are having a virtual phone bank on the 29th of October and the 2nd of November. Find our Eventbrite for that here.

These elections are often decided by a couple hundred votes. Your efforts here really matter.

Women only represent a third of state legislature elected’s nationally. The First Ask’s mission is to elect non-incumbent progressive women to reach gender equality in state legislatures.

State legislators have the power to protect or overturn our reproductive rights. We are working with women in Texas, Georgia, North Carolina, Michigan, Kansas, Kentucky, and Pennsylvania.

They also vote on:
\- Data centers
\- Utility prices
\- Congressional maps
\- Voting rights
\- Insurance rates
\- Health insurance (for ex: Medicaid expansion)
\- Education funding
\- The list goes on and on……

Hope you consider joining us in our effort to elect women— state legislators are the boots on the ground for the entire party.

Best,

The First Ask

I applied through John Fetterman's office for the U.S. Senate Page Program for Spring 2027 and recently received an invitation for an interview, most likely on Wednesday or Thursday.

Does anyone who has participated in the program, gone through the interview process, or just someone who generally has interview knowledge have any tips? I'd really appreciate it.

Hi! I am a bama junior looking for a bestie!!! #ROLLTIDE

Coleen Hoover & Taylor Swift all the way, but also Clausewitz hahaha so quirky. Matcha and Pilates and Pomeranians and a good tan. I'm shadowing the new WH press secretary office chief of staff. I've always wanted to work with other like-minded women! I don't like going out (I have self respect unlike (some people lolll)), but I love hunting (very important to my lifestyle to eat whole foods that I source).

I am looking for a roommate that is like me. So excited to be in the most powerful city in the entire world! Respond if interested ladies!

Anyone hear back from his office yet?

hi everyone! i’m applying to spring internships in DC right now and doing research on housing opportunities. i’m hoping to live somewhere furnished because i’m moving from california and would be limited in how much stuff i can fly with. i was looking into WISHGRAD intern housing but noticed they have a requirement that their residents be students and i’m no longer in school (graduated in 2025). has anyone had experience with trying to find furnished, short-term housing as an intern who has graduated? would appreciate any advice or recommendations. thank you in advance!

Has anyone heard back for the State Dep Student Internship Summer 2027? Thought we were supposed to get something a couple weeks ago.
