I kept rebuilding the same desktop every time I set up a new machine, so I turned the entire setup into a portable kit.
Download the archive, run "./install.sh", then log out and back in.
What it sets up:
WhiteSur Dark icons with blue macOS-style folders and white page file icons.
A macOS cursor theme.
MacTahoe styling for GTK4 and libadwaita applications.
Dark mode for a consistent desktop experience.
A lightweight GNOME Shell extension for a glass-effect top bar.
A glass dock along the bottom of the screen.
Left-aligned window buttons.
Sticky notes directly on the desktop.
Built with safety and reversibility in mind:
No "sudo" required; everything stays inside your home directory.
Automatically backs up every setting before changing it.
Run "./uninstall.sh" to restore your previous desktop settings.
Use "--dry-run" to preview every change before applying it.
Compatibility:
- Tested on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS with GNOME 46.
- Feedback is welcome, especially from users running GNOME 47 or 48.
