For people who has difficulty getting started in Study
Hiiii ! Are you finding it difficult to get started with your studies? I can help you with that!
Here is my guide for those who struggle to begin studying:
Choose a specific time, a dedicated space, and the subject you want to study - make your study plan concrete.
When the time comes, commit to studying for just 2 minutesāthatās right, only 2 minutes for that particular subject.
Here are a few tips and notes for you:
- Focus 100% while studying (this means engaging all your senses in the learning process; avoid listening to music).
- Donāt force yourself to study for longer than intended.
- Keep this up every day, and gradually increase the duration little by little.
Youāve got this! If you still find it challenging to study, feel free to send me a messageāIād be happy to be your study partner.

How to take notes that last longer
Hello everyone, I'm a uni student studying statistics and economics and most of my life I've spent only studying a few days or even one day before the exam. Usually the notes made in such hurry are sooner or later discarded.
Now I want to change that, I recently started enjoying studies and I want to make notes in such a precise way that maybe a few years down the line I would still be able to understand and have a quick revision.
How do u study and make notes so deeply? That you can remember it months or maybe years down the lane

So Im a 17 year old taking on IB Biology HL and Chemistry HL. The issue is that no matter how I try I always end up losing the information and not being able to retrieve the information even a day later. How would I improve it? ( also sorry for my broken English, its my 2nd language )

Looking for a Study Buddy to Study Together Daily
I'm looking for a study buddy who wants to study regularly, preferably every day. I feel like having someone to study with can help us stay consistent, motivated, and accountable. My Study Plan:
Study together on Google Meet or Discord for 1 hour.
- Take a 10-minute break to discuss what we studied or talk about anything we like.
- Repeat this for 3 study sessions, with a total of 3 hours of focused studying.
- We can increase the number of sessions once we're both comfortable.
- I'm looking for someone who is disciplined, motivated, and serious about achieving their goals. We'll share daily targets, track our progress, and keep each other accountable.
We can motivate each other, share our daily goals, check in on our progress, and push each other to keep going, especially on days when motivation is low. I'll do my best to motivate and support you too! š
A small clarification: I'm a male, and gender doesn't matter to me when choosing a study partner. However, if you're specifically looking for a female study partner, please don't DM me, as I want to respect both our time.
If you're genuinely interested, feel free to DM me. Let's stay consistent and achieve our goals together! šŖš

The study habit that helped me most: quiz yourself on your own notes instead of rereading them...
Rereading feels productive but doesn't stick. What worked better for me was turning my notes into questions and answering them one at a time, then coming back to the ones I got wrong a day or two later.
Full disclosure: I got so into this that I built a free app to do it automatically (Nexa), but you can do the same thing with any flashcards or even a friend. If anyone wants to try the app and tell me what's wrong with it, I'd really appreciate honest feedback. I'll put the link in a comment if that's allowed here.

Ways to shorten a paper without losing key points (tips that worked for me)
Shortening a paper has always been a struggle for me. Sometimes you have so much material and so many ideas that it's hard to decide what to cut. Especially when you're happy with what you've written but still need to meet the word limit.
Here are a few things that have actually helped me:
Start with the introduction.often spend too many words on background information when I could get to the point much faster.
Remove repeated ideas.Sometimes I explain the same argument twice in different words. Ask yourself: "Does this paragraph add anything new?"
Cut unnecessary phrases.Small changes add up:
⢠"Due to the fact that" ā "Because"
⢠"In order to" ā "To"
⢠"It is important to note that" ā Just delete it.
Use active voice.Instead of "The results were analyzed by the researchers," write "The researchers analyzed the results."
Combine similar points.Especially in literature reviews, grouping related studies can save a lot of words.
Use a word counter.check my word count after each round of edits to see how much I've actually cut.
Keep your main arguments and evidence. Don't sacrifice important information just to reach the word limit.
One thing I've learned is to edit in two rounds: first remove repetition and unnecessary paragraphs, then shorten individual sentences. And always reread everything afterward, because sometimes a shorter sentence no longer makes sense.
Anyone else struggle with word limits? What tricks have worked for you?

Feedback on a new study app that we're building
Hey guys, I'm Alex, and I'm a founder from Brazil. I've been building an Edtech company in Brazil for almost two years now, focusing on essay correction and writing improvement. Over the last few months, we received a few inquiries from our users about a new platform for time management and study plan composition.
This led me to talk to my girlfriend's friends and a few other people at Uni about our idea: an app for studying (groups or solo, but mainly focused in groups) where you can invite friends, set timers, block applications (and let other people see when you try to cheat), and even generate quizzes from your own material (especially ones that aren't as ridiculous as the ones regularly made by GenAI models).
We're building a waitlist and I'd like to kindly ask for feedback and ideas for improvement! Here's the link for our page: https://www.eddicts.app/
I've also been building adaptive learning models for Portuguese for the past few months, so I'm also thinking about incorporating a more general adaptive learning system into this new app in the future.
ps. I think self promotion is allowed by the rules, hopefully this won't be taken down
ps 2. excuse me for any English errors, it's not my first language

What ruins study habits the most is stress.
What do you think? I feel that, more than any methods or tips, the most important factor is stress and the management of cortisol levels; generally, those with better health have greater endurance, retain information much more effectively, and do so in less time.Being healthy and getting a good night's sleepā8 hoursāis many times better than using the best study tips.

How do I recall what I studied for an exam after giving it?
Might have phrased it incorrectly but I recently gave my mid term exams and I now when I open my math book to start studying again it feels like Iāve forgotten everything, so is there an effective way to relearn what Iāve already studied especially for a subject like maths

Smart people, I need a bit of help on studying
Good day everyone, I have a question regarding the way to manage your resources when studying. What I do currently is this:
1. Read the whole chapter of the book.
2. Quick re-read to highlight the important stuff.
3. Write the highlights on my notebook.
4.Read excessively until solving the exercises becomes not-too-difficult.
Today I was feeling like I was doing it wrong? Perhaps I could skip copying the highlights to the notebook and just read them from the book as it is? Am I wasting too much time on writing?
The reason I copy the highlights is because this how I was taught when I was at school. There is no particular reason to copy the highlights unless it absolutely is better than reading from the book.
Am I doing it wrong?
