LOOKING FOR BUDDIES Title: Looking to Connect with People Interested in Astronomy, Astrophysics & Space Technology 🌌

Hey everyone!

I'm a first-year CSE student from Tamil Nadu, India (IST, UTC+5:30), with a strong interest in astronomy, astrophysics, and space technology. I'm currently learning software development and looking to connect with people who enjoy applying programming to space-related problems.

A little about me:

- Experience level: Beginner — still learning and building my technical skills.

- Current tech stack: Kotlin, Android development, Git, and Linux. I'm learning as I work on projects.

- Availability: Mostly online, with Sundays being the most convenient for longer discussions or collaborative work (IST).

- Interests: Astronomy software, scientific computing, astrophysics simulations, space exploration, and open-source projects.

What I'm currently working on:

I'm developing an Android astronomy app that uses smartphone sensors and astronomical calculations to determine where celestial objects should appear in the sky. My goal is to build a usable application and gradually explore features such as real-time sky identification and camera-based overlays.

Who I'd like to connect with:

I'd especially love to meet experienced developers, astronomy enthusiasts, researchers, or students who have similar interests. If you've worked with scientific software, astronomical data, simulations, computer vision, or mobile development, I'd be excited to learn from your experience.

I'm also happy to collaborate with fellow beginners who are motivated to learn by building things together.

My goal: Start with online discussions, exchange knowledge, contribute to small projects, and eventually build something meaningful together. I'm particularly interested in practical projects rather than just discussing ideas.

If any of this sounds interesting, feel free to comment or message me! I'd love to hear what you're learning or working on, and what kind of space-related projects interest you. 🚀

LOOKING FOR MENTOR Self-taught Python developer building a personal AI platform—seeking an architecture mentor

Hi everyone, I’m an Australian solo founder building Forge, a personal AI platform focused on persistent knowledge, evidence-based reasoning and keeping the owner in control.

The question behind it is: how can an assistant become more useful over time while keeping its knowledge traceable, its mistakes correctable and consequential changes subject to human approval?

I’m developing it in Python with a modular, service-based architecture. There’s working code covering knowledge storage, retrieval, evidence handling and reasoning, but it’s still under development. My immediate focus is reliability, testing and bringing the pieces into dependable everyday use.

My background is in commercial fishing. I started learning software development through this project 7-8 months ago, initially working on an Android phone with Termux. I use AI coding assistants extensively, and I’m putting serious effort into understanding and verifying the results.

I’d like to connect with someone experienced in software architecture, AI systems or taking an ambitious prototype towards a maintainable product. An occasional conversation would be valuable—someone who can challenge my assumptions, spot unnecessary complexity and help me judge what deserves attention next.

I’m looking for perspective and honest criticism, rather than someone to build it for me. I can bring focused questions, diagrams and small, sanitised examples without sharing the private codebase.

If that sounds interesting, I’d be very appreciative of a comment or message. Recommendations for communities where this kind of mentoring happens would also be welcome.

My timezone is Melbourne Australia but due to forge being my main focus and suffering from insomnia I'm available virtually 24/7.

LOOKING FOR BUDDIES Looking for a Coding Partner / Buddy from Bangladesh 🇧🇩

Hey everyone! 👋 🇧🇩

I'm looking for a coding big brother or a coding partner from Bangladesh who shares an interest in software development.

I'm mainly working with JavaScript, React, Next.js, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS. I want to connect with someone who can guide me, share knowledge, exchange ideas, and build interesting projects together.

If you're more experienced, I'd love to learn from you. And if you're at a similar level, we can learn, grow, and improve together as coding partners.

I'm not looking for anything too formal. Just genuine connections with people who enjoy coding and want to get better at it.

If you're from Bangladesh 🇧🇩 and interested, feel free to comment or DM me. Let's connect and build something cool! 🚀

Looking for US-based AI / software engineers to connect with, build together, and cowork

Hey everyone!

I'm a software developer from India, currently spending most of my time around AI engineering and software development.

Lately, I've been looking to connect with people based in the US, especially California, who are genuinely curious about technology, enjoy discussing ideas, and are always building or experimenting with something.

Just to be clear: I'm not hiring, looking for a job, or trying to recruit anyone. I'm simply looking for a tech buddy someone I can learn with, exchange ideas with, hop on calls, and spend our otherwise unproductive time doing something meaningful together.

I'd love to find a few like-minded people to:

  • Talk about AI, software engineering, and interesting technical ideas.
  • Hop on casual calls and share what we're working on.
  • Do virtual coworking or coding sessions.
  • Maybe build a side project together if we click.

I'm not looking for a mentor, a job, or anything formal. Just genuine connections with people who enjoy building things and exchanging ideas.

I'm happy to start with a casual conversation and see where it goes.

If this sounds like you, drop a comment or DM me! I'd love to hear what you're currently building.

Making a small educational programming group

Timezone: CST
Stack: All (There is no need to stick to one language)
Experience level: Advanced
Goal: Create humanitarian coding projects

I am looking for a small group of people to make Christian coding content(3-4 people), like a programming studio. Examples include language learning of the Bible, video games in wholesome family friendly themes, IDEs, mods, game engine components, maybe geospatial work if you are inclined. I am an older 34 year old male and have been relentlessly studying Computer Science for 8 years, I am much better than someone who has been doing it 8 years.

I seek advanced programmers who are wholesome and either believe in the Christian content or can truly get behind it.

I can teach AI, how to read/write research papers, teamwork, but my main requirement is that you have actual background in Computer Science as without that you can't really do much.

I feel that is not an unreasonable request given there are plenty of CS majors who have not caught up to AI.

The way its going to work is we brainstorm good humanitarian projects and work together to create them one at a time as a hobby for our actual SWE jobs to keep up with the market.

You will have to pay for your own AI tokens though. I have Claude/ChatGPT Max plans. We can pool them(Yes there are ways to pool subscription plans) if either one of us runs out.
