Hi everyone, I own a single Powerwall 3 with an 11.25 kWp solar array in Italy, installed in May 2025. Current firmware: 26.26.11-pc 0d5e28c6.
My main concern is the changeover to backup during a grid outage. On 8 October 2026, at about 20:50 local time, I experienced roughly 1-3 seconds without power before the house was supplied in backup. That duration is my observation, not a measured transfer time. The five-minute energy data show about 65% battery SOC and roughly 1.1 kW household load around the event; they cannot capture brief load spikes or the interruption itself.
Diagnostic snapshots from 11, 23 and 24 October contain PCH.SeamlessBackup.Enable = 0 under grid_code_overrides, with grid profile 50Hz_230V_1_SMC_CEI021_2024_Italy. I do not know what this internal setting means for my installation or whether it explains the delay. I have not changed it.
I also saw PWS_a083_AfciSvmTriggered in the 23 October snapshots, but it is absent from the latest snapshot on 24 October. BMS_a023_SW_Assertion is still present. NetZero reports diagnostic_alerts = []. I am looking for an interpretation of these entries, not assuming that their names prove a fault.
A separate behaviour I documented in September: PV output sometimes dropped as battery charging finished at a displayed 100% SOC. On 12 September, from 11:50 to 12:00, PV went from 8.208 to 6.624 kW while battery charging went from 4.344 kW to zero. I do not know whether this is related to the backup issue.
I have already contacted Tesla support and sent a technical update with diagnostic exports on 23 October.
Has anyone with a similar Italian/European setup had this backup delay investigated? Is this expected for the Italian grid profile, or is there an approved configuration/firmware fix?
If any Tesla Energy engineers or experienced installers are reading, which logs or measurements would help distinguish a regional setting from an installation or firmware issue?
Thanks for any specific experience or technical guidance.
