Update: Reading through the responses has been informative, in both good & negative ways. The kind & informative comments from those who took their time to respond are invaluable & we thank you for them.
For those who offered such vocal criticisms, they should revisit Paul Harvey's "The Rest of the Story" & ask themselves "what don't I know." This 21 y/o has been the full time caregiver of an elderly person with dementia for the past 2 years. If you've done it, you know how hard it is. If you haven't done it, you have no idea how exhausting it is. Those "grown ass man" moments of being out with friends, enjoying a weekend camping, etc., don't happen when you are a caregiver. He will finally have an opportunity to step away for a few months.
OP: We have a 21 y/o that wants to get a seasonal job on the north coast this year. Any suggestions on finding housing for him? What jobs would be the best shot at getting hired? He'd prefer something like janitor or evening/nights. Has experience working at a truck stop & doing trucker manifests.
