Has anyone found stage manager on MacBooks to be a helpful feature? I have tried it many times it was adding more friction to my workflow

i don’t know if there is a fix out there but for about 2 months now my mac book stopped adhering to the 80% limit i put to it.

i know occasionally it charges to 100 but it’s been a month now. anyone know how can fix this ? has anyone experienced this ?

I have an issue in MacOS 27.2. When I open Mission Control from a fullscreen app in macOS 27.2, a static preview of that app appears on the default desktop among the other open windows. It looks like a separate app window, but I can’t click or select it.

In the video below, VS Code is running in fullscreen mode. When I switch to Mission Control, a static preview of VS Code appears alongside the other apps open on the default desktop. I can’t click or select this preview.

hi! i have an m2 8/25gb 97% bh (purchased as secondhand 2 weeks ago) i checked that it has a version of Sonoma (2023) but working fine. should i go and update now to the latest version— Golden Gate (2026)?

Hey guys! I'm just trying to install and fix the app and it works on mac but i have a huge ploblem that my schoolwork need read and write file on cpp like Read on file A.inp and export it to A.out
I try to freopen but my A.out cannot update the file to export, and it export to my user folder.
Can everyone fix it to export the file on my folder not on user folder! Sorry my english is bad

Every significant update weighs 8-10 GB, and the same goes for iOS, by the way. Isn’t it just code? How many millions of lines of code must there be to make it so heavy? Or what the hell else am I downloading with every update?

Check for updates regularly in System Settings, install security updates as soon as possible, and remember to keep your apps up to date as well, since they can have security vulnerabilities of their own.

hey everyone, maybe this has been discussed already on the sub but the new macOS 27 includes Apple Intelligence in the apps and not only do I really don't care about it but I really don't want it and i'm super tired of AI everywhere. I saw that there is no legit way of turning it off once the update is installed. I just got a Mac for the first time couple of months ago (Macbook Air M4), I never had anything Apple. Would it be find if I just don't do the update and stay on Tahoe, at least for a while (i'm currently on version 26.7.2)? I saw on this sub someone made a free app to remove all the AI content. Should I update and install that instead, what would you do?

I'm running macOS Sequoia 15.8.2 and tried downloading Numbers from the App Store, but I got hit with an error saying it requires "macOS version 26 or later".

Has anyone else run into this weird version requirement glitch? Is there a workaround to get it installed or am I missing something obvious?

I missed the good battery life
I missed launchpad.
I missed being able to drag and drop from Outlook to Safari.
I missed everything!

I kept myself away from Tahoe for the whole release. I gave golden gate a chance but its killing my battery! In Sequioa, i end my day with 45 to 55% battery. In Golden Gate, it goes from 100 to 10 in a little more than half a day.

I could pretend all other bugs aren’t there. But man, the battery life is horrible in Golden Gate! Really HORRIBLE BATTERY LIFE.

I skipped Tahoe, I will skip Golden Gate. I hope the next one is better. Or i could keep it tahoe for 2 more years.

Posting this in case anyone else runs into it.

After updating to macOS 27, Choosy stopped seeing my Chrome profiles. At first only the profile icons were missing, and rebooting didn't help. Then I deleted my configured profile entries to try to fix it, and after that Choosy couldn't detect any profiles at all, so I couldn't add them back.

The fix: Choosy needs Full Disk Access.

1. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Full Disk Access
2. Turn on Choosy (if it's not in the list, add it with the + button)
3. Restart Choosy if the profiles don't show up right away

After that, all my Chrome profiles were detected again.

I've let George, the developer, know about it, so hopefully future versions can detect when this permission is missing and prompt for it.

The update process stops at 6,13GB for ever (ok, since yesterday PM). Tried a reboot, etc. I have about 75GB of free space as well.

Any guidance on how to achieve this? Can I achieve it manually?

Ever since I installed macOS 27, the corners of my screen flicker when I open or close applications, or when performing certain tasks. I’ve already updated to macOS 27.2, but the issue persists. Do you have any ideas?

I assume they're meant for anniversaries and suchlike, but they don't show in the Calendar app like birthdays. Am I missing something, or are they pointless?

It’s finally released. This started as an update to my original Mavericks patcher script and became a much bigger project than I expected.

Note: This has been tested on Monterey and Tahoe. Monterey is the minimum supported macOS for this program.

Note 2: There is an ongoing issue with the 11,4. This is still being worked on. I have just released Beta 6 which provides some experimental, untested potential fixes, as well as diagnostic tools to help generate logs. If you have any issues, please raise an issue on GitHub and provide the logs there. Be aware I am unable to test the 11,4 myself as I do not have one.

MavericksResurrection installs Mavericks directly onto an internal partition or an external USB drive, from within your existing macOS installation. You don’t need to make a USB installer, boot into it, or manually run the post-install patches afterward. The app handles the installation and the patches.

The main additions are:

1. Direct installation to an internal partition or USB drive.

2. NVMe support, including buttons to add or remove it from an existing Mavericks installation without reinstalling the OS.

3. A post-update audio fix. Mavericks updates can break the internal speakers, microphone and HDMI audio. Boot back into your newer macOS, select “Fix post-update issues,” and let the app repair the affected installation.

4. MavericksForever integration, so the app can download and prepare Mavericks for you, or reuse an image it previously saved.

5. Diagnostic logging for troubleshooting.

I tested direct installs to both my internal NVMe SSD and a USB drive, installed the available Mavericks updates, repaired audio on both, and tested removing and reinstalling NVMe support on the USB installation. Both installations boot and work, and NVMe access returned after reinstalling the driver.

This is a beta because compatibility with the 11,4 and other NVMe drives still needs testing. My Apple NVMe SSD works, and the driver is intended to support third-party drives too, but I can’t promise every drive will work.

The app supports MacBookPro11,4 and MacBookPro11,5. My testing was on the 11,5, running the app from Monterey; the 11,4 remains untested.

Back up important files first. You need an existing Mac OS Extended (Journaled) partition. The app formats the partition you select—it does not partition your disk. Keep your newer macOS installation available for repairs and troubleshooting.

One important boot warning: HDMI connected directly to my 11,5’s built-in HDMI port prevented Mavericks from booting. Leave it disconnected until Mavericks reaches the desktop. HDMI through my dock worked, but other docks and the 11,4 are unconfirmed.

If you just want to install, there's just one thing to know. Sometimes a window may reappear after its disappeared. I can't figure out why, but it doesn't affect functionality. If you see a window reappear that you had just confirmed, just ignore it. Interacting with it might interfere with the process. They seem to appear after entering admin credentials in the authentication popups. As far as I see, that's the only bug I can see from my testing.

Hi everyone. I’ve got an M1 Pro MacBook Pro with 16 GB of RAM. Right now I’m using the latest release of macOS Tahoe. Do you suggest me to update to macOS 27.2? Or I should stay to 26 because of optimisation problems? Thanks in advance everyone!

Hey, has anyone else run into this after upgrading to macOS 27.2? When I hold Cmd and drag a menu bar icon, the icon starts flashing like crazy as soon as I move the mouse, and it takes a second or two before it goes back to normal (stops flashing). Just wondering — is there any workaround for this?

On macOS 27.2, when I swipe from right to left to open the Notification Center, there is a flicker as the notification opens, and I can see through the widgets in the Notification Center.

Yes it is better than earlier MacOS 27 releases but for those who are pushing it, Mission Control still stutters and will turn the whole desktop black and unusable.

Edit: I should mention that unlike my black screen on 27.0 where the wallpaper would come back after choosing a desktop, this one is completely unusable until I 3-finger swipe with my trackpad.

I encountered this issue when using the thumb button of my M720 Triathlon mouse to access Mission Control, and was able to recreate this. I couldn’t recreate this on Magic Trackpad. It only comes back when I access Mission Control from my trackpad.

But I’ve only been able to recreate this when I access Mission Control constantly (talking 10 times in 10 seconds) so I don’t think it affects many. And while Mission Control was somewhat fast, it was not as smooth as Sequoia, and it still displayed many UI glitches

I always keep the system in sleep every night by closing the lid. I have an 80% charging limit (apple system setting).

Usually there is a 4-5% ideal battery drain every night.

Today I found my Macbook completely dead with full battery drained. Not sure what caused this.

Is there an easy way to find out what drained the battery? Any app or what activity drained the battery?

Why this could have happened? It has never happened in the past.

I can’t wait to mod and unbloat the sht out of my Mac and it’s enforced apple guidelines and limitations.. Also, videogames, software compatibility, and more, the list just gets better. I feel I will finally be in terms with OWNING my hardware again.
