I have an MSI Delta 15, and I'm having issues with both the HDMI port and the USB-C port that supports DisplayPort output.

Here's what's happening:

• HDMI: The port stopped working completely, but recently it started detecting my monitor again. However, the connection kept cutting in and out.
• USB-C data transfer: Speeds have become extremely slow. I can still transfer files to and from my phone, but I can no longer use my external SSD properly.
• USB-C display output: I used to connect my Huion drawing tablet with a single USB-C-to-USB-C cable that handled both display and data. That stopped working, although display output still works through USB-C hubs and dongles.

I've reinstalled Windows and the drivers multiple times, so I doubt it's a software issue. I'm wondering whether this could be a motherboard issue, a faulty USB-C controller, damaged port circuitry, or something else.

Has anyone experienced anything similar with their MSI laptop? Is there a way to diagnose the actual fault, and could this be repaired without replacing the entire motherboard?

I'm based in Nepal, so official MSI repair options are limited for me. I'd also appreciate advice on what I should ask a third-party repair shop to check before agreeing to any expensive repairs.

I’ve been searching EVERYWHERE and I haven’t found any specific information on how to change thermal compound on this laptop (thank god is not liquid metal because I’m not a technician)

I think it uses PTM7958 but avability in my region only let’s me use PTM7950.

MY QUESTION IS - which pad thickness of PTM7950 does the GPU and CPU need for this exact laptop 0.2mm or 0.5mm ?

Morning all, I'm getting extremely frustrated with this laptop, I've undervolted laptop, used GC-Extreme thermal paste and changed thermal pads and 6 weeks later temps go to 100c.

I'm now getting some 7950 phase change thermal pad, some Grizzly thermal putty for VRM but am stuck on a laptop cooler (old one is useless).

I'm looking at the KLIM Everest or Turbofrost as on a budget.

Can the group give advice on what would be the best out of the 2 as I'm getting different reactions when researching.

I need some help diagnosing my MSI GF63 Thin 11UC (MS-16R6). I've been using this laptop for around 3 years, and recently the display stopped turning on.

Here’s what I know so far:

• The laptop's power and charging LEDs turn on, and the fans spin.
• The internal display remains black.
• I previously tried troubleshooting the RAM and SSD, but the issue persisted.
• I also tried connecting an external monitor through HDMI, but I got no display there either.
• An MSI-authorized service centre told me that the BIOS chip was faulty and suggested that they couldn't replace the chip individually.
• I purchased a brand-new replacement display panel and charger, but the service centre says the display still isn't turning on.

I'm trying to understand whether this could be:

1. A corrupted BIOS or faulty BIOS chip that needs reprogramming or replacement.
2. A motherboard issue preventing the laptop from completing POST.
3. A blown eDP/LCD fuse or a fault in the display power circuit.
4. Another issue that I'm overlooking.

My questions:

• Has anyone successfully revived an MSI GF63 with similar symptoms through BIOS chip reprogramming or replacement?
• Could a blown eDP backlight fuse cause this, or would that be unlikely if HDMI output is also absent?
• What diagnostic checks should a technician perform before concluding that the entire motherboard needs replacing?
• Is board-level repair worth attempting before considering a motherboard replacement?

I don't want to spend more money replacing parts without knowing the actual cause. Any suggestions from people who have repaired similar laptops would be greatly appreciated.

- External Monitor: Samsung Essential S3, 27-inch, 100Hz

- Connection: HDMI

- Display Setup: Extend these displays

- GPU Connection: The external monitor is directly connected to the NVIDIA GPU, while the laptop's internal display uses the AMD integrated GPU.

Reported Issue

- When the charger is plugged in, the external monitor switches from 60Hz to 100Hz.

- When the charger is unplugged, the monitor switches from 100Hz to 60Hz.

- During the refresh-rate change, the external monitor goes black for approximately 1–2 seconds, then returns to normal.

- The issue occurs when the external monitor is set as the main display.

- When the laptop's internal display is set as the main display, the issue does not occur.

- If the refresh rate remains unchanged, plugging in or unplugging the charger does not cause the black screen.

Is ts a feature or issue i has came after the reset of my laptop is also tried turning off the display power saver from the msi center but it turns on automatically nd does not make any change

I sent in my Vector 16 HX AI for a repair after the GPU failed only four days after receiving it brand new in the mail. I just now got it back and am seeing SEVERAL stuck pixels and a gouge in the screen I can feel with my fingernail! How does this even happen?????? At this point I think I'd either like a different, brand new unit or a total refund, this is ridiculous. Anyone else experienced anything similar???
