I haven't seen this before today. Is it an online status indicator? Why is it suddenly showing up for me when it hasn't before?

quick question- are moderators not allowed to be paid? I was looking at mod rules

There's this subreddit where all my posts whenever I tried posting get taken down and Mods answer after my 4th post was taken down; which to my knowledge or their knowledge didn't break any rules and their reply for as follows
"The atutomod filters content it deems as spam, lilely to break rules or unsafe for the community. It depends on the content of the post/comment, past history on the sub or overall profile.

Unfortunately we do not override the automod in such cases."
What does one even do in this case ?
