I haven't seen this before today. Is it an online status indicator? Why is it suddenly showing up for me when it hasn't before?

There's this subreddit where all my posts whenever I tried posting get taken down and Mods answer after my 4th post was taken down; which to my knowledge or their knowledge didn't break any rules and their reply for as follows
"The atutomod filters content it deems as spam, lilely to break rules or unsafe for the community. It depends on the content of the post/comment, past history on the sub or overall profile.
Unfortunately we do not override the automod in such cases."
What does one even do in this case ?

I have a genuine question: why do some of the most interesting stories I come across on Reddit end up getting removed by moderators?
I’ve seen posts that spark really interesting discussions, and when I try to go back and read them, they’re no longer available.
I understand that communities need rules, but I’m curious about what criteria moderators use to remove these kinds of posts.
Has anyone else noticed this?

There's a quite prolific poster I'm aware of that just happened to go dark at the exact same time that Ukraine took out the Russian data centers. Very sus IMO.

I'm genuinely curious how some moderators are comfortable voluntarily running communities where misogyny, racism, homophobia and other forms of bigotry are practically part of the culture.
I get that moderating a subreddit doesn't mean agreeing with everything posted there, but there's a difference between allowing controversial opinions and actively maintaining a space where hatred is routinely encouraged or normalised.
At some point, surely you have to acknowledge that you're helping keep that environment alive?
So where do you draw the line? And for those of you moderating these communities, do you genuinely see no issue with what you're enabling, or do you just not care?

I had a couple of very successful posts with interesting discussion but after a week they were removed
Why does it happen?
I’ve seen that other people add links and a vetoes their products and services
But it’s not me, why to remove my post? Not their comments?

A few weeks ago, maybe months, I noticed I stopped receiving notifications for comment replies that state have been removed by a moderator. Prior I used to receive notifications, as well as be able to see an automod msg stating reasons. I've checked chat, inbox, everything but it's all empty. Now I only notice my reply didn't show up if I look it up logged off, but even in incognito I'm unable to see any auto mod messages, thought my reply is said it was removed by a mod. Is this a bug? I'd really like to know if I've broken any sub rules so I can act accordingly. But because I stopped seeing any messages I sometimes make the mistake of posting too many replies without noticing they're not going through. Not sure where to post this it didn't go thru in the help sub

Recently, I discovered that a moderator deleted a comment in one of my posts asking on how to fix my USB. I was really looking forward to follow what to do but ended up not going to be able to know.
Do they really have the power to just delete anything? I've watched youtube videos that moderators have bad reputation because of those who abuses their power.

Someone I believe has been severely harassing and stalking me for the past 7 months recently used a 12-day-old burner account to make a post in a subreddit meant for SUPPORT, falsely claiming that a bikini picture I took over a year ago isn’t actually me while putting my username in the post so now the mods are wanting me to FaceTime them and hold up my bikini pic to my face for verification😣
Despite providing the moderators with extensive evidence of the ongoing harassment, including threats, showed them many burner accounts and other harassment posts made by my stalker through many burner accounts on their subreddit and screenshots of this user contacting people who interact with my posts, they’re requiring me to complete a private video call and have the bikini from the disputed photo available before even considering to remove the post.
What makes this especially concerning is that this subreddit doesn’t even require verification to post. So someone can publicly accuse me of being a catfish without verifying anything, but I have to FaceTime the moderators to challenge those accusations?
I’ve been posting consistently on Reddit since August 2025, have completed verification in other communities, and have offered additional proof that I’m real. Meanwhile, this account has been sending people links to the accusations and contacting moderators of other subreddits where I participate.
I’m not opposed to reasonable verification, but I don’t understand why the harassment itself isn’t being addressed separately. The post is still publicly visible, and I’m banned from the subreddit, so I can’t even defend myself there. Is this really appropriate moderation for a community that’s supposed to support its members? And where can I report corrupt mods if possible. Thank you!!
I can provide more information and screenshots if asked. Thank you!

A couple subs I moderate have a more-than-trivial amount of political orientation, and we get requests from people/groups/organizations that want to conduct an AMA with a political focus. Because we have the AMA posting option turned off by default, and we want to do some pretty thorough vetting before we allow it to move forward, all of the information that will ultimately go into the AMA body is required in advance.
We then need to turn on AMAs for only approved users, add them as an approved user, let them know that they can submit their pre-scheduled AMA post, then go back after they do and turn it off, remove them as an approved user, etc. etc.
And, in many cases, the organizations/people conducting the AMA aren't overly familiar with how reddit works and we need to help them with the post itself so they set it all up correctly.
Maybe our situation is a unique use-case, but it sure would be nice if mods could create a "proxy" ama and designate the primary Reddit account for the AMA. IT would then notify the user that it was pending their approval/acceptance and they would own it from that point forwards.
This gives us a bit more editorial control as well as removing the need for other administrative gyrations.
Is this only me, or does anyone else feel that this would be a helpful feature?

Our subreddit, BlackPeopleofReddit, currently displays a #6 ranking in News, with 1.8 million weekly visitors and 48,400 contributions.
However, when I check Reddit’s official News leaderboard, our community is nowhere to be found.
I’ve seen reports of similar discrepancies affecting other subreddits.
We’ve worked hard to build this community, and I’d really like to see our sub properly listed and recognized.
Can Reddit please look into this discrepancy and get the leaderboard updated?

My account was hacked last night and that ass had posted in some r4r sub and now my inbox is full with r4r messages and this scammer had replied to each one of them as
‘My inbox is packed from the post, Telegram’s cleaner for chatting Rosie_moonbeam84’
I have already deleted those posts, is there anyway i can get rid of these stupid dms?

Been a reddit user for many years and fairly active across a variety of subs. Never had a post removed. I credit reading the sub rules.
Then they made the auto-mod/bot changes and I have had easily 8 posts removed just this year. Typically there is no reason (and I'm not looking for you to answer why because you aren't those mods). I can say for sure they don't break the afformentioned sub rules. The one time a mod actually answered my request for a reason, it was basically. I didn't like it because X. Not something I could have guessed since that was not a rule in the sub and basically boiled down to the mods personal preference.
I'm curious what's changed? With the mod-bot costs up have you expanded the number of human mods so personal taste is having more of an impact on your subs? Are y'all actually removing more posts than before or is it just bad luck on my part? Genuinely curious.

I am curious about your point of view, since I sometimes mention differences in user experience compared to other sites (discord, instagram, facebook, standalone forums like phpBB), however I have no comparison to how it is to be on your side on reddit, and I'd like to know a bit more?❤️
if you were/are in staff in other places, like discord servers, were there differences in amount of reports, or behaviour of users?
if you have not seen other places, here some of my stats for comparison - forums or communities I moderated, could have anything between 1-1000 daily entries in queues (with varying number of staff members), and policy was to very rarely use any stronger actions than warn or temporary suspension, which could last from 15 minutes to several days. That's what initially surprised me about reddit - in other places where I was staff, it wasn't uncommon to see users with dozens-hundreds of violations and they were not banned. Here I feel like I have to be much more cautious about how I post (of course I am trying, and I think it is going better for me recently. Largely due to ability to know how things feel from your side when I asked in subs like this one)
I wonder if this difference comes from workload that you deal with or are there other reasons? or maybe you personally are more permissive?

I've noticed some posts tend to get locked (in less than 24 hours, without explanation) if they are being upvoted quickly. It seems to happen frequently for posts relating to politics, but I've even seen it happen in the cats. Why does this happen?

So I was just randomly going through my history and I was looking at one post of mine from a good 6+ months ago, and I saw it was archived.
On the other hand, I’ve seen posts from YEARS ago when searching for information on something and you could still like or comment, I’ve seen people revive a 5 year old post, etc.
Is it just an automatic thing that some subs do at a certain point?

Re "This isn’t a place to appeal a ban. If you want insight as to why you were banned you will have to ask the banning mod team, this community is not the subreddit you were banned from."
how does this work , if a MOD immediatly bans you for life and mutes you ? ( asking as a 14 yr user of a sub that had a disgreement with a MOD in a private chat and was instata life time banned and muted)
