I don't think I've ever seen AT&T do so many different related changes in such a short time with a new plan: UYW 2.0 comes out, price changes for older UYW plans, adding Elite 2.0, making different plans be worth different promotional credits, and lowering prices on the brand new plans.
Since there have been so many changes to UYW in the last few months, I've created a new post as the old post had lots of comments/answers that aren't necessarily relevant (or true) any more.

The main differences:
ActiveArmor: Some 2.0 plans that come with ActiveArmor, only come with the standard, not advanced. Premium 2.0 can activate the advanced for free in your plan (I'm going to guess you can do the same with Elite 2.0). There is a free version and another version that is listed with "At no extra charge".
Standard price on non-phones: $20.99 per tablet, $20.99 per camera, $10.99 per wearable. If you have Premium 2.0, you can get one of these at ½ off. If you have one of these non-phone devices, it would probably make Premium 2.0 more cost effective for you (although the additional hotspot may max it so you don't need a line for your tablet). If you have Elite 2.0, then you get a tablet and wearable for no extra charge.
If you have HBO "free" with your current cellular plan and switch, or you change all your Elite EL lines over, you'll lose HBO. You need to compare how much you'd save to see if it matters.
The prices on the chart assume autopay/paperless/checking discounts. You need autopay/paperless for a $5 discount and autopay/paperless checking for a $10 discount (and as of now, the AT&T Citi card also qualifies as a checking discount). Add $5 or $10 to each line if you do not do these discounts.
There is no way anyone can help you compare the cost of the newer plan to the older plan if we don't know what discount you have, how many phone lines, and which plan those lines are on.
Additional info on this plan can be found in this AT&T PDF.
DISCOUNTS:
AT&T Latin American roaming: Click these links for more info at https://www.att.com/support/article/wireless/KM1486292/
Please note that while the change plan comparison page (when logged in) shows that Elite 2.0 plan is not included, the Latin American roaming page specifically says it does and so does att.com/unlimited
Promotional phone credits warning: Not all plans have the same promotional deals like they use to. As always, please read the "offer details" before assuming your plan is eligible for full trade in credits. Also, please do the math to see if it's worth switching, paying $10 more a month for 36 months is $360, if it's not getting you more than $360 in credits, is it really worth switching to a more expensive plan. https://www.reddit.com/r/ATT/comments/1rsb36o/warning_a_value_20_line_may_or_may_not_cause/

My 86 year old dad’s land line was decommissioned, and he was talked into porting his number - which he’s had for 50+ years - to AT&T wireless. He could not get the hang of the new phone, so we called support to port his number to his iPhone and cancel the account. The agent said it was all set, and to keep the phone.
One month later, he gets a bill for $350. We made a second call to support, and now it’s outside the grace period and too late to cancel without this charge. They wouldn’t do anything for him on the call.
Any hope to get this corrected?

You can get 5k AA miles for linking your AA account to your AT&T account!! I'd do it quick because I bet they shut down this promo fast.

As the title says. I feel like ATT is the worst. I live in San Diego and work in Oceanside and I barely get cell service anywhere. It’s pretty much unusable unless I’m connected to wifi. When it does work, I get bombed with spam calls and texts Hoping I can get out of this contract as they are not holding up their end.
The iOS 27.2 update today finally allowed me to toggle on 5G Standalone.
However I'm not seeing the option to enable Voice over 5G Standalone / VoNR at all, not even a grayed out option forced disabled.
Not sure if my phone is too old to support it?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Ok thi,
Would love to see 5G NR DC being a thing and then to not cap the nodes at certain speeds(~4Gbps in this case).
I do have 5G SA access and tried to get NR DC but was unsuccessful

I've had AT&T for years and within the last few months their internet service has taken a nosedive for me. Internet goes out at least twice a month, then I have to either use their shitty AI Smart Home app (to varied success) or call customer service to flip some switch or do some unseen things that makes it work again. And that's AFTER having to wait for an hour and a half for a customer service rep to call me back.
I pay my bill on time every month and I still get the worst, most overpriced garbage service I've ever gotten, even worse than xFinity if you can believe it! Looking to switch providers soon, but also curious if anyone else has noticed a dip or if I'm just being singled out by the AT&T crappy internet goblin.

10 year AT&T customer. Have an AT&T account, wireless bill paid monthly by automatic draft. Able to activate phone using AI, but it sends a confirmation code that never comes. AI won’t respond to “eSIM” or download “eSIM.” Following all instruction provided by CSR. CSR even said it would be easy to activate a phone and download an eSIM… if I got to talk to a human. Can’t log in to AT&T app or website because, yes you guessed it, it sends a confirmation code that never comes. First AI transferred me to someone who could help me. It was of course another AI that couldn’t help. AI says phone activated and should now work. It doesn’t.
What is the trick to speaking with a human at AT&T?
To get the cell service I am paying for.
Oh yeah, there is a link for try alternative method.
It takes you to a send confirmation code again. The exact method you are seeking an alternative to. Insanity.

At costco, want to trade in. They said the line has to be upgraded to premium in order to trade in. One of the line is already premium plan, so wondering if I can order new phone on premium plan, the switch the phone number on new phone to Value plan. Do you lose costco promotion if you do that? The costco att guy said you can't do that. Anyone have experience trading in like this? Thanks
Physical sim. Can I swap from an obsolete unsupported iPhone to an iPhone 12 on a corporate account without calling HQ? If I call them they will most likely cancel the phone line. Don’t have access to the AT&T account afaik - that’s a second question, can users set up accounts for corporate phones?

In May, I added my wife to my phone plan and got her a new phone at the same time. However, we are now separated and will be divorcing soon. She is living 3 hours away with her parents and telling me, through them, that she wants off my plan so her number can be added to theirs with T-Mobile. The line isn’t in her name, they’re both in mine, but she’s been paying her line’s bill on her own. The phone still has 31 payments left of $20.28/month, but she was getting a $17 discount on it so only $3 added to the line plan. I spoke with a store and they said I would need to do a transfer of billing to her, so that it’s in her name. Will ATT need the phone paid off before the line can be released for carrier transfer, or as long as the bill has been updated to collect the phone cost on her next bill, she can do it sooner than the bill paid and posted?

I’m two months in after switching from Verizon. I REALLY miss Verizon. I hadn’t expected the AT&T network to be this poor. Slow loading of video in apps, constant stopping of playback in Spotify. It seems like 1-2 bars of 5G+ is the equivalent of 3G.
I have tried tweaking the cellular settings but I cannot get something that makes it better. Anyone have any recommendations?
FWIW, iPhone 17 Pro

How long until AT&T resolved it? I am 99% sure my phone was stolen as it hasn’t been scanned or seen in a week and they can’t locate it. They refuse to mark it as stolen and AT&T refuses to do anything until FedEx marks it. How long did it take for a replacement? Was the process easy?

I bought an iPhone 18 Pro Max on September 19, 2026, on a 36-month installment agreement with a $1,200 trade-in promotion. I’m currently on Unlimited Premium PL in a nine-line account.
My bill shows:
Phone installment: $41.67/month
Trade-in credit: $33.34/month, currently 1 of 36
Remaining phone balance on that bill: $1,458.32
The account owner and few others decided to dissolve the family line and plan to close the account. A few of us want to transfer our numbers and installments to another AT&T family account before that happens.
AT&T’s Andi chatbot gave conflicting answers, so I’m hoping someone familiar with transfers can clarify:
I want to preserve my number and remaining promotional credits, and avoid an unexpected payoff bill.

So I switched my auto-pay to our bank account to get my $10 a month discount, and bingo, my bill is now $5 a month cheaper! How do they explain that then?

I lost my wife this Thursday while she was on her way to work. I will be deactivating her service but she was the account holder. Can her cell phone number stay tied somehow so it can't be passed over to someone else? If not, I understand. I am just trying to hold onto everything that I can.

Couple years ago I traded in an even older Samsung for another Samsung (s22) at no cost. Looking to now trade that 22 in for I guess a 26. I see it's not a 100% trade-in value at the moment. The previous deal was for any Samsung of any age. So hoping this comes back around.
