I had a friend who was a umass student and almost didn’t graduate because he moved into a house that turned out to be a cult. He got caught up in the mix of the social dynamics when he was going through some really rough challenges (mother death, cancer risk, otherwise more distressing stuff). He only realized it was when they were trying to influence him subconsciously and keep him there (human trafficking) by interrupting his studies and through psyop tactics meant to isolate victims.

Apparently UMPD, the dean, and Leverett PD got involved after the inhabitants of the house that of 3 guys in a jam band and a guy who was kicked out of Sirius tried to kill him by stealing his inhalers and then plotted to shoot him when he didn’t asphyxiate from his missing inhalers.

The location of the house is 8 juggler meadow road leverett MA.
The events of this took place a year ago.
My friend did graduate though and moved on with his life.

In the past 10 days the band has given three Multibands performances on campus, traveled to CT for the UMass/UCONN football game, and today they are in Quincy for two feature performances at the MICCA high school band festival. That's more than 400 people plus all the instruments on the road. GO UMASS!

I’m interviewing for Semester in DC and I’m prepping for the interview. Has anyone here does the interview and if so, what was it like (questions, vibe, etc)

DO NOT ASSUME CARS WILL STOP FOR YOU! I have noticed so many people cross the sidewalks without even looking! Especially wearing dark clothes at night. The rumor you will get free tuition if hit by a car is FALSE! I witness at least 3 times a night someone almost get turned into a pancake! Especially when wearing dark clothes. And it’s sad I even have to say this, STOP JUMPING IN FRONT OF CARS with your hands up hoping to get hit. At least twice a week someone thinks they are being funny, and that’s just to me, I’m sure other people have the same issue.

Lastly, don’t take all day to cross the sidewalks, be considerate of the drivers. Old lady’s cross faster!

checked out a few hardcover books, and some have that fabric-like cover with no dust jacket. They’re pretty dirty, so I’d rather put something over them while I’m reading.
Does anyone know if the library gives out removable book covers or has any available to borrow? Trying to check before I buy stretchy ones myself.
