Hello guys!
The "let's get ready!" WPD blog post is out! It has hopefully all the answers about how the WPD works, so if anyone asks, you can send them right to the blog.
What was already mentioned before is that this year, you can only send up to 5 postcards on October 1st. This is so that everyone has a chance to send some postcards and the system does not run out of suitable addresses.
The Postcard Lounge will also be open again! You can come and write postcards with us on a call, or just watch the livestream on YouTube.
Have a nice weekend and happy Postcrossing!

Found out that you can print on envelopes. I do recommend testing with just a piece of paper and drawing where you pet it in and what the top and bottom is.

I received this card from China and noticed that there’s an extra two digits on the date stamp! Does anyone know what it stands for? Could it maybe be the hour mark, or maybe something else?
It reads 20206.09.18.17 so it was posted in 2026, month of September (9) on the 18th or 17th day, or maybe on the 18th day at 17h (5 pm)?
I’m just curious, I love learning about other countries ways of doing things 🤓

I’ve been complaining about all the AI slop when sometimes all you want is to send an actual postcard with a view! I’m thrilled to announce that postcards are still well and alive in France- at least in La Réunion- there are local photographer ones and while I chose two designs there were more styles available- I was very happy to see that it’s not just stuff from the 90ies or AI generated! Felt like sharing because I need to send them to friends and family since I don’t have open slots atm. 5traveling.

I noticed NZ Post site has some Maxicards, but the stamps on them come in a range of values. Current cost to mail a postcard is $2.90. If I purchase a $1.70 Maxicard, do I add value to the back to get it up to $2.90? Do I have to add the extra stamps to the front?
Appreciate the help. Tried searching this but I must not be using the right terms.
Some of them have values up to like $6, so I guess in theory I just wait a few years til postcards go up to that... as I know is bound to happen. 😔

I have way too much stuff to make postcards from (a friend got a bunch of beaten up children's books and stripped them to make scrapbooks - she gave me her extra, though this is still a ridiculous amount help) but what are folks using as backing? I have little watercolor blank postcards but that won't match just how much I have, as it were. So, any suggestions as to what I can use to turn this art into postcards? I'm used to bones so this is new to me XD

Two of the postcrossers love whales so I did 2 orca paintings in slightly different palettes.

I'm new-ish to postcrossing, and i genuinely don't know how i was living before it ! I love waking up in the morning and checking to see if any of my postcards have arrived or that I've received one. The person here asked for some tea from around the world, so I sent them some and thought it would be cute to draw a little thing for them ! thought it was worth sharing : )
