This might seem like an obvious pick...because of course it's halo 2 for me! All the memories I have with this game, playing with friends, staying up all night doing the campaign, this game is just hard not to choose as the best original xbox game!

Is this rare? I bought it because I thought it was cool just wondering if this was rare

Was hoping someone had an insight on what might be worth something or how to go about selling. I can’t say the quality is for all discs. for example I have 2 Kotor 2 cause I know nar shadda wouldn’t work on one of the discs. thanks.

I've been working on a solution for cooling an upgraded CPU in a socket. There are replacement heatsink brackets for a standard CPU upgrade (without socket, directly soldered), but these don't account for the extra height, and as easy as that would be to adjust, they also interfere with the extra space that the socket takes up.

I recently found some heatsinks that were originally part of server upgrade kits for HP pentium III servers as they came with some 1.4GHz P3s I got a good deal on. These things fit almost perfectly! They clear the HDD try when installed without modification, and the only issue seems to be the level for the retention tab can rub against the fan. This can be fixed by shaving a few mm of material off of the back of the tab (it's just the handle part, so it doesn't affect the actual retention, just make sure to file the new sharp edges so you don't slice your hand installing / removing it).

The other thing about these is, they only use the centered smaller retention tab on the socket. This is wonderful because it allows for the 3d printed support brackets i designed, to lock into the outer larger tabs.

The brackets lock into the unused tabs to prevent the transfer of stress to the motherboard when installing / removing the heatsink / cpu. They also extend under the edge of the socket to fill the gap between the socket and the motherboard, further eliminating stress transferred to the solder balls on the interposer and the pins on the socket. Additionally, there are some standoffs that mount on the underside of the board that keep the board from flexing down near the CPU, an m4 screw goes through the standoffs and is used to secure both the standoffs and the support brackets to the board. Everything is printed in polycarbonate and is extremely rigid.

The heatsink used is from a 237504-001 cpu upgrade kit, you can find them popping up on ebay every once in a while. Cooling performance is more than adequate with a 1.4GHz CPU installed using the stock fan.

I'm just trying to gauge the level of interest in this while I make final adjustments and continue stress testing these things to see if it's worthwhile to put final polish on these and release the models, so, just let me know!

Came across a couple modded xboxes from a storage unit. The clear one is asking for a master key on xbmc. Is there any way I could get around it? I have never modded a console before so I have none of the software on hand for modding

It's a weird thing, most lists have xbox exclusive but there were plenty of games like Knights of the old republic that released PC and Xbox. Curious what other games were like Xbox Exclusive* but just in the no ps2/gc meaning.

I’m not sure if this is the correct place to post this, but I wanted to share some UX suggestions for “Dashloader Customizer”, particularly for those who are new to configuring Original Xbox dashboards.

The application is incredibly powerful for setting default dashboards and controller button shortcuts, but since the interface is very streamlined, newcomers might not immediately realize how it functions or how to navigate it.

For example, when first opening the app, it isn't completely obvious that buttons need to be mapped to a specific .xbe path, or that a secondary options menu is available via D-Pad Left.

To make the app even more accessible, would it be possible to add some brief captions or button legends? Here are a few examples that I feel might work:

Main Menu:
"Hold assigned button on startup to launch Dashboard .xbe"

"D-Pad Left: Additional Options"

Secondary Menu:
"Select 'Override' to assign default Dash on boot"

The Blockbuster stickers are always a huge plus in my book. GUN has them front and back with dates! Always cool enough to make me buy a game I already own (on PS2)LOL. Just need to get a 360 copy next. Found it a couple minutes later, but I refuse to buy game and case only copies unless it's something insane.

My Original Xbox has been a project for about 2 months and the console itself is done.

The Xbox is a 1.2manufactured in 2003, I have 3D printed a custom case I found online, it has a 140mm fan on the top and a 40mm fan on the backside. I designed a custom fan shroud to connect the fans and heat sinks, I also customized a lid of the HDD and on the inside I added zip tie mounts to hold the wiring. It has 2 led strips and a 3D printed power button, and I also made the lid attachable with heat set thread inserts so the plastic doesn’t get worn out. With my console now done besides all the games I want, I will be focusing my attention towards 3D printing my controllers, I believe my STLs are done I just need to test print, I know many people want them and today or tomorrow will be the day, fair warning they will most likely need some professional touch up as this is my first STL. Hello again everyone! A final update on the horde.

I’ve had a few issues along the way so sorry for the delay. So much went wrong I about gave up. But here I am to let you know that I have a plan (or a formulation of a plan lol). So here goes:

Going to be running auctions on Whatnot for 4 days over two weekends in January (exact days could possibly change before then so keep watch on it). Bidding starts when 10 people are on the show.

Day 1 - Lanyard madness. All lanyard cards come with both a black and a green lanyard. Bids start at $3 with the final item being the Halo holo. The Brute Force cards come in a 4 piece set until they last. Leftover lanyards will be sold on day 4 with black lanyards joining the giveaways on day 2. Lanyards available until they last.

Day 2 - Halo Day. All items Halo with a few surprises in the mix. All start at $3 each.

Day 3 - Fun stuff. A mix of all kinds of display items. Standing items, stickers, pins and more. The big items being the watches (4 of Blinx). Many different game titles being shown. Bid starts will vary from $2 up.

Day 4 - Rare and display items. The bigger items on hand. Mostly Xbox branded items. Big items of note: sandals, Xbox tags and dog tags, suction cup window cling, window transfers, Xbox signage, display unit mat, and more. Bid starts will vary. This is the big day for the best items.

Any leftover or unsold items will be posted as sale items after the shows, if any. Shipping to be paid by buyer. No returns or refunds, items are sold as is (Gotta put this in here).

Giveaway items each day - 1 of each - Wolfenstein sticker and Brute Force pin. Black lanyards after day1. Of which overflow sales will happen on day 4 so those who don’t get one have opportunity. One per person through the giveaway.

The bad news - the large posters will not be sold. I had issue with the logistics and shipping of them without costing a fortune on both ends. I’m not set up for it and it takes a ton of space to do so. That said anyone interested please contact me for details. I’m willing to let them go for cheap if pickup (Houston, TX area) or will meet if price is right. There’s about 50-75 posters including launch posters, static posters, and a large Xbox sticker. Also a few empty console boxes they used for display included. I have some pictures. There’s corner damage to a majority but they overall look great.

Again I apologize for the long delay. My inventory list got lost and had to redo. My venture into eBay for this didn’t work like I was wanting so had to find another site… and life in general. I’m not looking to make money on it as much as to cover my time and expenses which is why I’m going this route (bidding allows you to dictate pricing limits as opposed to me setting prices). As a kid I used a Duke since its what my cousin had for his Xbox. He has bigger hands so he never needed an S controller. When I got my own it came with an S and I got a wireless Mad Catz microcon (or minicon, not 100% sure which) and never bothered to buy a Duke. Well nowadays I need some sort of handicap if I play FPS games with my friends, so I figured a Duke would do it, but honestly, I find the controller itself fairly comfortable and I have medium sized hands (if glove sizing is anything to go off of). Where I dislike the controller is the layout of the thumbsticks, d pad and buttons (face, start/select and black/white). They just feel too far apart and I'm not a fan of the rotated diamond shape of the face buttons. The black/white buttons being up top is also something I'm not huge on, but I could probably adapt. After testing out both Halo CE and Tony Hawks Pro Skater 4, I decided I would rather stick to an S when I could. If the logo was a bit smaller and the face buttons not rotated like that, I would probably like it more than I do, but I guess I'm just describing what they did when making the S controller, lol.

I know its been asked a million times, but what do you guys think of the Duke? Love it, hate it, has it grown on you? I certainly think there are worse controllers out there, but Microsoft and Xbox seemed to learn right away what did and didnt work, giving us the S controller and then the amazing 360 controller thats more or less been the base design for over 20 years now, so I don't think I can give the Duke too much garbage

Back like 2 years ago I would say I got my original Xbox and a month or so later all of the colours disappeared it all went to black and white. I kept it off for like a week and it went back to colours and idea?

Posting this after finally picking up silent Hill, I’m surprised I didn’t have to pay an arm and a leg for it. I spent only $60 but the cash was that wasn’t in the box so I had to provide my own case and cover.

In general, I’m very surprised how some of these games look so good compared to PS2 with the exception being MGS2 that game is kind of weird because while it looks better performance gets tanked compared to the PS2
