I know this is a long shot since this sub doesn’t seem too active but my partner and I moved to Allegany. He’s originally from this area but I am not. We were in Alabama 10 years and now have permanently moved here. So I know pretty much nobody lol

I’m 37 years old. Looking for a community of other weirdos and geeks that don’t always fit in. I wish I could say what my hobbies were but lately I really embarrassingly don’t think I have any. I was going to the gym 5 days a week prior to the move and have lost 40lbs so I’m open to walking buddies (no gym membership here yet) .

I like spooky stuff, haunted places, paranormal things. I like walking around cemeteries and taking pictures. I’m open to the bar scene. I’m also part of the lgbt community so queer spaces and events also very welcome to find.

I know I’ll probably end up needing to travel to Buffalo or Jamestown or Rochester and that’s okay. But figured I’d at least try locally first.

Hi there, anyone know if it would be cheaper to buy tickets for a Southern Airways Express flight to Dulles at the Bradford, PA airport in person ahead of time, or does that not apply for this airline? Thanks.

I'm putting together a county-by-county map of sports allegiances across New York State (NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, and other leagues as gauged by interest). To do so I am collecting self-reported data from New Yorkers. If you have the time and are a sports fan of any size, I would appreciate if you helped fill up my dataset. Right now I have a little over 300 responses, but Olean (and Cattaraugus County in general) is a dead spot. I'm hoping to get a much larger and diverse dataset to boost the overall quality of the project. All answers are anonymous, no Google sign in required.

visiting family in Olean a few times a year. Is there any transportation from Bradford airport to Olean?

I've come in from Bradford and BUF. I'm coming from the west coast so getting a flight that comes in before the bus to Olean pickup time at BUF is near impossible.

Bradford is doable if I can solve the Bradford to Olean portion. I really don't want family to take time off work, just to pick me up ...although they would.

My doc of 20 years recently retired so I am looking for a new one in the Greater Olean area preferably. Nothing wrong medically but do need to get my yearly physical.

My husband and I recently adopted a lab mix puppy 2 weeks ago.
She is 14 weeks old now.
And last two days, she’s having an illness issue
Vomit, diarrhea, lethargy and Google said it is red flag need to go to a vet immediately
We have a primary vet in Bradford for our cat
They open early morning, so I was trying to go in there with her when they open but they didn’t open right on time and there was a paper says we don’t take walk ins

Anyways, after all she seemed okay.
I came back home, she ate some food she was having a nap, then she started throwing up again.

No matter what we need to bring her to a different vet in Olean on Saturday for her vaccine.
But I’m worried I just want to take her any vets
Sounds like all of vet don’t take a new clients or full of reservations

Idk what I should do
Should I just need to go to Orchard Park Vet medical center??

Does anyone have any recommendations of fabric stores or warehouses between, Erie, Buffalo, Olean, and Rochester?

Not including Hobby Lobby in this.

Did anyone else on here go to the OHS reunion this weekend?

My husband and I (late 30s) are moving to Olean in July for his job and need a place for the two of us and our older dog. Any leads on rentals or tips on where and where not to look are appreciated. We're pretty open to location, type of rental, and number of bedrooms. Move-in date is also pretty flexible. The ideal would be a house or lower unit. A garage is a huge bonus. Would definitely take an upper if it was month to month.

I'm coming here because there are fewer than 20 properties of any kind available to rent in and around Olean between Zillow, Apartments. com, FB Marketplace, On Point, and Craigslist, and nothing allows dogs. We'd be open to buying (we own a house in Buffalo), but want to wait until we're a bit more familiar with the city.

Also, how's the internet in Olean? I work remotely for a company in Buffalo and need reliable internet.

I recently came across Jim King's campaign for NY-23, and he describes himself as a "traditional" or moderate Republican who's focused on accountability and problem-solving.

What are everyone's thoughts on the term moderate Republican? And do voters in Upstate New York still want candidates in the middle, or has politics become too polarized for that? Would you be more likely to support someone willing to work across party lines, or do you think candidates need to firmly pick a side these days?
