I know the Aba is the popular more readily supported engine to swap into a mk1 chassis but I have a running and driving 03 golf given to me. I’d like to put this motor and transmission into a mk1 chassis but I don’t see much information at all. I’m not trying to build anything crazy just something fun. I’ve seen kits for individual throttle bodies and I’d be into that for sure. So any guidance and links you could share would be greatly appreciated.

Looking to sell my 83 rabbit and. Ot sure what to ask for it. I live in northwest Arkansas (if anyone were interested in it. The following work has been done to it in the past year:

Shifter bushings replaced Throttle cable bushing Vacuum lines & booster check valve Battery Fuel filter Water pump, thermostat & housing Timing belt and tensioner Spark plugs Plug wires Distributor cap Distributor rotor Valve cover gasket Fuel injectors and sleeves Fuel sender Fuel pump / fuel supply line Headliner redone Wiper arms Crankshaft seal, intermediate shaft seal, and camshaft seal Front brake calipers, rotors, and pads Rear drum shoes and hardware

To start I'd like to be clear, I have years, a lifetime of auto experience including rebuilding engines and carb/fuel injection, etc...

I've owned a few old diesel rabbits, replaced the head on one... But never would I want to screw with an injection pump, yet here I am.

I don't have 1000 ,actually more,to blow on one. Hans has resealed units for cheap but everyone says don't do it... I'm broke, so I bought the gasket set and im doing it a little at a time until I find the leak ...

It runs great. Just leaks horribly.

So I took the top off, where the springs and throttle linkage is, and put the new seal in, but I can't get it back on, there's a fork that moves but it's in the way. I'm in over my head but my wallet says find a way now.

There's no good videos, no good diagrams...

Anyone want to guide me through?

Do i got this idea for a smoke kombo, but I can't seem to hit it, and in questioning if it's possible ngl, it's smoke w/ scorpion and you do smoke damage, face walk, far for breath kameo, and then kutting room 4, smoke port, and smoked out, I've been trying to hit the kutting room 4, skill issue or not possible☹️

What’s good Mk1 folks. I am about to move cross country again and wanted to offer (in bulk) my parts bins for other enthusiasts to horde and mull over the same way I have for the last 10-15yrs. I’ve got three large Rubbermaid containers with relays, switches, CV joints, a set of long tails, 3 different clusters, fuel pumps, bumper ends, etc etc etc. I’d want some money for it, but honestly well under what’s there. If anyone is interested shoot a message and we can talk details and I can dig out and share a couple pics. Currently in lower bucks.

Hey Guys, new to this page and just wanted to share my 83 westy rabbit 1.7 5 spd. I've put alot of work into it over the past year and it's currently runny great!

Last few pics in the slide are what it looked like when I bought it for 1500 from a friend who let it sit for years in his yard.

Guy apologized, was in a lifted Chevy, he went to blow past me while I was turning, at a cross street with another car sitting there. Could have been worse, but I am done dealing with anything else today.
Any idea what to say i would take to fix it myself to his insurance company?

I want to install spotlights on my Cabriolet just for fun. But obviously I don’t want to just drill holes into the plastic Clipper bumper, and would like to mount them to a metal part of the bumper or panels behind the bumper.

Has anyone done this before? Got any tips? Know of any brackets available?

I have a 1985 cabriolet that has had fuel issue we have chased for a long time. I’m tired of working on it and honestly ready to give it away. I was thinking between $500-$1000 in not running (but trying to start) condition. Is that too much to ask for it?

Anyone know a good place to get a distributor for a 1976 rabbit with stock carb engine? Seems like there impossible to find

Is such a large stream normal? I think my coolant system is clogged, which causes all coolant passing this small hose, in stead of passing the thicker bypass hose and heating up the thermostat to let it open.

I don't have a dwell meter so I got this hz% multimeter instead, apparently it should be at 50%. When I turn the fuel air mixture screw i can hear the engine sound worse or better but the number on the multimeter doesn't change. Is it the o2 sensor or something? Should I just unplug the o2 sensor?
