Early voting stats for Shelby County

(through Saturday - doesn't include Monday's numbers)

- Turnout is good.
- Only 2.4% are low-propensity voters (voted in fewer than 25% of the November general elections in 2016, 2018, 2020, 2022, and 2024)
- Voter participation is still skewed heavily (as always) with age: older people vote a lot and younger don't

But these statistics don't show us who people are actually voting for - "party lean" can change.

Early voting continues through 7pm Thursday

so what happened to wild bills?

• Upvotes

born in mem '55. lived half my life in nashville now. absolutely loved w.b. as it was a jen-u-wine juke joint. served bottled 40's, snacks, cash only, tight smoke filled room with the blues/r&b band in the corner. i would send folks from gnashville there for the experience. so, i was in town recently, it's been a while, i made a visit, and was SO disappointed. wtf? as i was paying the cover, i was hearing exactly what i came for. but unfortunately, when we walked in, not only was the ambience spoiled by the expansion, right away the band took a break. a very looong break. a 45 min break. (long enough for us to order some of the 'new' food?) when they returned, the first tune? was tennessee whiskey. rufkm? i went there to get my ears cleaned out of that shit. i needed some of that soulful heartfelt delta dirt groovin' grit. we got up and walked out. not only that, the room is now twice as big, with hot food and liquor (and a variety of canned beers). i mentioned to my friends in mem, about 10-15 years ago, how nastyville is coming your way. and bubba, so it is. so sad. i will not recommend again. but, you go, you wild bill you. and good luck with that homogenization. (aiming for the tourists much?) i'm outa there. but i will always be a memphis homeboy!💜

Anyone in need of a babysitter

Hi I wanted to see if anyone is in need of a babysitter. I’m 20 y/o in college at U of M so my schedule is a little bit all over the place, but it’s about to calm down as I reach the end of the semester. I have experience working in a daycare and I’m currently in school to be a teacher and completing some of my student teaching hours this semester. If anyone is interested feel free to reach out and ask me any questions necessary !

Citizen Inquiry Local artists who can make a t shirt quilt?

Looking to turn a bunch of old t shirts into a quilt like “project repat.” Before I go to a big company, figured I’d ask if any local businesses can do the same.

Is she against men? If not, then why doesn't she just say she is for people?

Missed Connection/ I Saw You Cute guy in the burbs

Hey! I saw you yesterday (Sat, 24th) at aldi in collierville, around 10am.

You offered me your cart, and my brain short circuited. I babbled at you, because I was trying out a new (to me) mask that blocks UV (I'm allergic). As soon as you walked away I wish I was wearing something less embarrassing.

Idk if you're single, or straight, or interested- if these apply, please DM. I'd like a second chance at a first impression. Coffee on me?

Meeting room for small group

Hey y'all, I'm trying to find a meeting room for a small group of people, maybe in a restaurant or a bar? Preferably in midtown. It's our monthly gathering, my house is not going to be available this time. We'd love to have a quieter place to meet that has decent food / beer. All suggestions welcome.

GET STOKED! Mental health facilities that won’t treat you horribly

I can feel it my time is coming soon and I’ll be beyond what a little office visit can fix. But everything I hear about places here make them seem horrible like they torture you. Where can I go where they’ll actually treat me well and actually care about helping me and will they need to take my insurance and will they let me out if j use up my time for work
