Foojay.io (website for Friends Of OpenJDK) now takes posts through merge requests. Writers wanted.
Disclosure: I’m one of the people who run Foojay.io.
Foojay has changed how content gets published by moving away from WordPress. Posts are now submitted as merge requests, reviewed in the open, and scheduled for a publication date, so contributing works like contributing to any other project.
The first results are in the pipeline. Here’s the queue for the next two weeks: https://foojay.io/today/coming-soon/
It’s 15 posts from 14 authors, regulars and first-timers. Some of the topics:
- Reading thread dumps for virtual-thread services (JDK 21 to 25)
- Scoped values and sealed interfaces in production code
- JVM garbage collector trade-offs on a unikernel
- The Maven build cache in Azure DevOps pipelines
- NetBeans refactorings exposed over MCP
- DuckDB 2.0 and Java
- New JavaFX UI libraries and controls
- Streaming large file uploads without killing your server
- Using AI coding agents in a team, and making an LLM cite its sources
If you have something Java-related to share, we’d like to publish it. That could be a tutorial, a production lesson, a library write-up, a benchmark, a talk turned into an article, or a well-argued opinion. You don’t need to be an experienced writer, and first-time authors are welcome.

Questions about the process or the topics are welcome in the comments.
