I know a lot of students can’t even name the current mayor. If you have any intention of living in Ottawa please go vote, if you want the O-Train to run please go vote accordingly

Request for Help Call for Student Sources

Hi! I'm a reporter for the Charlatan, Carleton's independent newspaper, and I'm working on an article on how AI might be affecting students' experience of dating. I'm looking to interview students who have used AI for dating advice.

This article is objective and the goal is to provide an open and nonjudgemental view of this topic.

Interviews are around 10 minutes and can be either in person or online. If you're interested in sharing your opinions, send me a DM and we can arrange a time that is convenient for you!

Halloween scene?

Hey gees, what's the move Friday and Saturday? 😈

21M, me and a buddy are down for whatever's actually going to be packed — not a half-empty bar with a fog machine. House/techno preferred but honestly a loud room full of people in costumes is the brief.

On our radar so far: Nature Nocturne at the museum (Fri), 'Til Death Fest at Preston (Fri/Sat), Aléa at Lac-Leamy, Palace Haunted House (Sat). Anyone been to these in past years — which one actually turns up? Any afters?

Single, friendly, will trade a drink for good intel. 🎃

How helpful is it nowadays? I’ve heard a lot about it being very hard to find anything even with the coop program and it’d be helpful to know what others experienced

Made an NBA guessing Game

Made a game for my friends and I. Basically, you watch a real NBA play from the 2015-16 season (ik its been a while lol), and the player you're guessing is the glowing dot. There are 5 new plays every day, and you get hints if you guess wrong.

My friends kept playing it, so I figured I'd put it out there. There's a Rookie mode where you pick from 4 different options, which is built for more casual fans, and a Pro mode where you type the player's name.

Enjoy, and any feedback would be highly appreciated!

People in Ottawa living with endometriosis

Hello! I'm a journalist and student at Carleton. I'm writing a story on endometriosis—specifically having to do with the long wait times for surgery in Canada. If you have any experience with the wait times, or just a gap in health care for people with endometriosis, I would love to speak with you. Send me a message!

Master of Digital Transformation and Innovation

Hello, I received the admissions offer for the Master of Digital Transformation and Innovation (online) program. I'm looking to see if there's anyone who has completed it or who is currently in the program. How do you like it? Is there anything I should be aware of?

Also, I am currently working full-time. Is taking two courses in a semester really doable?

I guess those in the MEM or MIAI programs could also share your experiences, given that we'd be sharing the same elective options.

Any insights would help. Thank you!

MAT 1722 final tmr

I'm taking the math 1722 final tmr but I was in a class with a different teacher but will be writing Mr Mountassir exam. Does anyone know the format of his exam and if we are allowed calculators? He never responded to my emails so if anyone else is taking it and knows i'd appreciate any information. Ive just been preparing in general but nothing specific as I don't know what he might concentrate on. (Also any regular calc 2 general help i'll take if you think there is a topic I should look at more)

Discussion Club Idea (womens health/health sci)

Would anybody be interested in joining a club that talks about your research (in womens health) and creating approaches to create a better healthcare system for womens health? I've been an advocate for women's health for years now and I'd like to start something. Maybe we could start with small things, like approaching the school for more doctors that specify in common diagnoses women experience (on campus specifically) to shorten wait-times (like utis, std, etc). And with fun pop-ups that could save money which would be donated to charities. Having people on the executive board and volunteers could really make something like this real.

How important is it to know a prof before reaching out for honours supervision

I feel like someone told me once you should only reach out to profs who know you by name and who's class you did well in but Im in a very small program and much of the research being done is with profs I never had. Is it pointless to reach out to profs who ive never met/didnt interact with much How important is it to know the profs you ask for honours
