Reminder: Understanding Reddit's Rules and Posting Restrictions Is Your Responsibility

I want to clarify a few things about posting in r/GameDevPromotions, especially if you're new to Reddit or primarily use the platform to promote your games.

You are responsible for understanding how Reddit works before posting.

Reddit has sitewide rules, automated spam detection, account restrictions, and other systems designed to prevent abuse. These operate independently of the rules I establish for this subreddit. Your post being allowed under our community rules does not automatically mean Reddit will allow it through its own systems.

Reddit is also a collection of communities, not simply a place to advertise your work. Understanding how to participate appropriately, what constitutes spam, and how your account activity might affect your ability to post is part of being a Reddit user.

In the future, I won't manually investigate every complaint about posts removed by Reddit's automated systems.

I operate this subreddit voluntarily, and I don't have time to investigate individual account restrictions, posting histories, or the various reasons Reddit might flag someone's content. Resources are available to help you understand Reddit's policies and use the platform appropriately.

If Reddit is consistently removing your posts, take the initiative to understand why. Read the guidelines, understand how Reddit operates, and consider whether your posting behaviour might be contributing to the problem.

I want r/GameDevPromotions to remain a useful place for developers to share their work and discover what others are creating. Part of maintaining that environment is expecting everyone who participates to take some personal responsibility.

I am happy to provide a space for developers to promote their work. I am not here to troubleshoot how to use Reddit for every individual who encounters a restriction.

This is basic community housekeeping, and I think it's a reasonable expectation for anyone who chooses to participate.

Promote your work, yes, I’m telling you that it’s perfectly acceptable, unlike on r/gameDev.

Feel free to share whatever you want as long as it’s related to games. This space is meant to be a free-for-all—a bit like the wild west—where anything goes (within reason). The goal is to give folks a space to post freely and, hopefully, keep some of these posts from spilling over into r/gamedev.

I made a free multiplayer FPS that runs in your browser – cactus cowboys, a sunflower sniper, no download

Hey! This is Cactus Clash, a low-poly western FPS where every player is a cactus.

Play free: https://playcactusclash.com

Works on PC and on phones (touch controls). No download, no account needed.

What's in it right now:

- 7 maps and 5 game modes

- Ranked matches with ELO

- Weird western weapons: the Sunflower Sniper, the Water Sprayer, Cactus Bomb grenades…

- Skins, hats and kill effects to customize your cactus

It's built with Three.js and Node/Socket.io. I'm planning a Steam release later, so I'd love honest feedback: how does it feel to play, how's the performance on your machine, and what would you add?

Try Crown Lands as a guest — build your kingdom in the browser with no sign-up to start

Post image
• Upvotes

We’ve added Play as guest to Crown Lands, our multiplayer medieval browser strategy game.

Start building a kingdom, explore the map, grow your army, and capture cities before deciding whether to connect an account.

Try Crown Lands — open the game and choose Play as guest.

Guest kingdoms last five days from creation. To keep your kingdom and progress, use Save your kingdom and connect Google or an email/password account before the deadline. Email verification must be completed in time. Unlinked guest kingdoms expire and are deleted.

Use the same browser while playing as a guest; clearing browser data can lose access to an unsaved kingdom.

I’m the creator/developer, and I’d love feedback on the new-player experience. What makes sense in the first few minutes, and what needs a better explanation?

Disclosure: Crown Lands is developed with AI assistance. The promotional artwork attached here is AI-generated.

Hey everyone! I'm a solo developer and I finally released my voxel-based survival and automation game, SkyFab.

It’s heavily inspired by modpacks like SkyFactory. You start from scratch in the sky, gather resources, build your base, and eventually design massive automated tech factories. If you enjoy optimizing production loops, crafting, and voxel sandbox mechanics, I'd love for you to check it out!

Here is the Steam link: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3335490/SkyFab/

CLAIMED.WORLD is a free browser conquest game where your group can fight for its own corner of the map

• Upvotes

Pick a country, choose a color and see how long you can hold it. That's the idea behind CLAIMED, the browser game I'm developing.

Influence recharges over time, including while you're offline. Spend it on your own territory or put it into an alliance treasury. Groups have up to 12 members, with leaders and generals deciding which neighboring countries to attack. You can also stay independent.

I'd like to get the first rival groups playing together. If you have a couple of friends who always end up making plans in strategy games, bring them along and choose a region to defend.

Play: https://claimed-world.vercel.app/

The interface is currently in French. This is an early playable beta with a free account and email confirmation. No download or purchase is needed. Paid sponsor logos are a separate advertising layer and don't increase conquest strength.

Medieval Tavern upcoming game Drunkards Tavern

Thumbnail
youtube.com
• Upvotes

We're two developers working on Drunkards Tavern, a 3D medieval tavern simulator where you and up to 3 friends more run your own tavern in the most chaotic way possible! Cook and serve meals to all kinds of customers, discover and unlock new recipes, upgrade your tavern, and explore the village to find suppliers offering better deals than the local market. But running a tavern isn't just about keeping the customers fed... you'll also have to deal with drunken troublemakers, break up bar fights (or start them yourself), and survive all the ridiculous situations that come with running a medieval tavern with your friends. Drunkards Tavern is currently in development by A.M Interactive, and we'd love to hear your thoughts, feedback, and suggestions!

The weapon icons in our prototype are doing a lot of work here. We show the choices for a moment before cutting to the train fight. What do you think about the game idea?

My first Steam game crossed 2,000 wishlists during my first Next Fest 🥹

Post image
13 Upvotes

Honestly just really happy about this one.

I went into my first Steam Next Fest with around 1,600 wishlists, not really knowing what to expect.

Now the festival is ending and Worm Capitalist has crossed 2,000.

Steamworks shows 2,291 lifetime additions now, which still feels a little unreal considering this is my first Steam game and the page only went live a couple months ago.

The graph has been a bit chaotic. I had one pretty crazy spike from China before Next Fest, and then the festival gave the game another really nice push.

Still a long way to go, but seeing actual people discover the game, play the demo, stream it and add it to their wishlist has probably been the most motivating part of development so far.

Full release is November 30 :)

Steam:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/5073430/Worm_Capitalist/

How did Next Fest go for everyone else? I'm really curious what kind of numbers people saw this week.

Hey everyone! We’re planning to launch StoneEra on November 6!

Ahead of release, we’re sharing our pricing so you know what to expect. The image below shows our planned regular prices across all supported regions.

🎉 The base game will be 10% off for the first 7 days after release! This discount will apply to the base game prices shown in the image.

💛 The optional Supporter Pack will include:
• 5 additional NPC appearances
• A special flag
• A Supporter badge beside the main menu logo

It’s an extra way to support development, with cosmetic additions only — no gameplay advantages. The launch discount applies to the base game only.

Thank you for being part of StoneEra’s journey. We can’t wait to see what you build! 🌱

Clocked – a free daily trivia game: 20 questions, 5 minutes, type answers in any order

I made Clocked, a daily general-knowledge quiz that runs in the browser with no download or account.

  • 20 questions and a 5-minute timer
  • One answer box: type answers in any order and they fill in the right question
  • Same quiz for everyone, new one every day at midnight ET
  • Streaks, a score card to share, and a rating that builds over time

It starts easy and ends with a few tough ones you can reason your way to. Feedback on the difficulty or answers it should accept is very welcome.

I spent months bringing Liero style chaos back to life. TRENCHWORMS launches October 30!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Remember Liero? The crazy real-time battles, ninja ropes, explosions, and maps that barely survived a single match?

I missed those days, so I made TRENCHWORMS!
I’m a solo indie developer from Poland, and this is my first game. It launches on Steam in just three days!

Here’s what you can expect:
- 26 weapons
- Fully destructible 2D terrain
- Ninja rope movement
- Local multiplayer for up to 6 players
- Online multiplayer
- AI bots
- Single-player campaign
- Full controller support

Unlike turn-based Worms, everyone fights simultaneously. No waiting for your turn, just nonstop destruction!

Release: October 30, 2026

Steam page and trailer:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/5161820/TRENCHWORMS/

I’d love to hear what you think of the gameplay. And if you grew up playing Liero, I hope this brings back some memories!

Life in the Kingdom Demo out now! :D

You find yourself thrust upon the throne of an entire realm at the tender age of 25.

What will you do with your new found power? What kind of leader will you be?

Will you build up the realm and it's people, or use them to live a life of opulence and power?

Will you protect those in your realm from the many dangers that are sure to come your way, or will you leave the people exposed to the evils that seek to consume your kingdom?

Will you keep the peace with the leaders, and aspiring leaders, of the land, or will you mercilessly crush the first sign of rebellion?

No matter what you choose, the relentless march of time is ever nipping at your heals. You only have so long to build your legacy and leave your mark on history.
