sweet cat (f) ready for adoption!

I am a foster parent thru Meow House Cat Rescue and have had Harpur for a few months now. She has come so far in her trusting of humans and is definitely ready to find her forever home. She LOVES other cats, is very active, playful, and loves to be wherever you are. She's not the biggest fan of being picked up, but she has started to like pets and scratches more and more! She sleeps in the bed every so often, but she's also very independent. Shes up to date on everything and is very healthy!

Shes truly such a sweetheart and keeps us (and our kitties) entertained. She would make a great companion to someone who is home a lot or who has another cat who needs a friend!

Lochmere on lockdown?

My sister-in-law lives in Lochmere and woke up this morning to 9 police cars, a sniper and no one can get in or out.

Apparently someone made a threat on Facebook.

Anyone with a police scanner know what's happening?

Looking for a place that preserve flowers

My daughter got married yesterday and one thing we forgot was planning for preservation of her bouquet. I'm trying to find a local place, but Google keeps showing me out of state places and the couple of local places required reservations in advance. Anyone knows of a good place that we can use?

Found kitten -- does it have an owner?

Post image
33 Upvotes

EDIT: It's been confirmed as well as it can be that she (I think it's a she) has no owner. I suspect she was dumped by someone as she seems too friendly to have been raised by only cats.

None of the rescues we've called are currently accepting cats, and we want to avoid the county shelter if possible, so we are hoping to rehome her ourselves.

If you might like to adopt her or if you know someone who might foster her long-term, please let me know! We can arrange for you to meet her before you commit. She's very sweet -- loves to cuddle and be held.

We found this kitten (looks to be about 8 weeks old) in the engine of our neighbor's truck, south side of Cary. We're trying to ascertain if he/she belongs to anyone.

I don't think the kitten is feral, but I'm not sure. It doesn't seem to be in bad shape, health-wise. It bit as it was being removed from the engine (understandably so), and is obviously frightened, but after sitting by it for a couple hours, it accepts and enjoys pets.

We can care for it well at least in the short term, so don't worry, it is safe and fed :) We just don't want to accidentally rehome a kitten that already belongs to someone.

Honda indie mechanic

I'm looking for a trusted auto mechanic shop that services Hondas in West Raleigh or south/east sides of Cary. I've got a BMW guy near buy that has been fantastic with that car, but they don't usually service Hondas.

Any suggestions?

Hand-painted figures for sale - Raleigh area

Thumbnail gallery
0 Upvotes

I have included photos of both some of the figures available now and some of previous work.

I currently have available:

Doom Slayer (pictured), $300
Full set of Ninja Turtles (pictured - Donatello was in progress in his pic so no he is not currently missing an arm and his bo), $150 each or $400 total for the set
Nami (pictured), $250
Luffy (not pictured), $200
Deadpool (pictured), $75
Cthulhu (not pictured), $175
Spider Gwen (pictured in group photo with Zelda, Nami, and the xenomorph), $175
Marcus Fenix (not pictured), $100
There may be (probably are) some additional figures available - I’m just forgetting what I have right now 😅

Figures vary in size and are priced according to size and work involved. For example - Luffy is the same size as Doom Slayer but took less work to complete.

I also take commissions, so if you’re interested in something you don’t see here, let me know! Jane Doe (Zenless Zone Zero) and Poli (I can’t remember the game she’s from) were both commissions. So was Samus, the original Donatello I did, and the Emperor (which I’ve now done 4 times because he’s a popular dude).

Thanks!

Cary picks new town manager from inside. Now he has to reform the office he helped run

I reported on Cary’s unanimous decision to promote Russ Overton without a national search — and what council members said about choosing a senior Stegall-era administrator to implement post-Stegall reforms.

High school Spanish programs

We are moving to the area and I have a child that will enter 9th grade next fall. Has anyone had a good (or bad) experience with the Spanish language program at a particular school (for non native speakers)? Thanks in advance!

Looking to sell SFH in Cary

Hi All,

We are planning to sell our property in Cary (Brookgreen Forest), and I'm wondering how the housing market is going. We live out of state and currently have a tenant living there, we plan to sell at the end of their lease which will be June 2027.

We bought the property 3 years ago, and it doesn't look like the housing market appreciates much for the past 3 years.

What have you seen? Thoughts on the market?

Apartment Recs

Commuting to NC state, I’m currently 0/3 on newly constructed apartments without a pest infestation. Trying to be within 20-25 minutes of the campus.

For those curious, Ray At The Weld, District Square, and I’ll drop the third once I’m done dealing with them. Manager there is currently harassing me, can never be too safe.

Just want something new and without an infestation.

Gas Smell in Cary 10/21

Trying to track this down some and/or spread some awareness: it currently smells pretty strong like natural gas in Lochmere/Coventry neighborhoods (near Cary Pkwy/Tryon intersection).

We just had the fire dept come out, they said they’ve had multiple calls from here to up Walnut street a ways and cant figure out what it is. They smell it too, but are not seeing it on their detectors. Obviously if you smell it, go on the side of caution and still call. Worst case they can note where its going on and hopefully figure it out!
