I am recruiting for a MLB-realistic 30T Salary Cap dynasty baseball league that is currently about halfway full. We are trying to fill the teams with owners who are fans of that team, and the Diamondbacks are one of our open teams right now. We use real player salaries and have a hard cap as well as a salary floor. It's super active and tons of fun, so I hope you consider joining us and repping the Dbacks! DM or comment below for more info.

last episode we looked at free agent possibilities for 1B/DH. This episode Jesse and I break down the pros and cons of some trade targets.

My offseason mind decided to look into how many 2001 Births we have and it is surprisingly very low. Jorge Barrosa was our only hitter, and Justin Martinez was the most significant pitcher (Blake Walston and Dylan Ray are also 2001, but they're pretty much filler). More 2001 spirit might be what's needed for a playoff push

Baseball writer Kyle Glaser released this chart showing the number of scouts each team employs. The D-backs have 85. The Phillies are third with 89, the Dodgers are second with 91, and the Yankees are first with a whopping 109.
The league average is 68.
I know posts that are just graphs about team staffing aren't the most exciting, but it's basically the offseason - we only have so much d-backs stuff to discuss! Plus it's interesting to see how the team chooses to allocate its resources.

Saw this from MLB on FB and had to share π good for him I suppose!
Jake Woodford began this season in Spring Training with the Tampa Bay Rays, but was traded to Milwaukee on March 24.
He made the Brewers' Opening Day roster and appeared in 16 games for Milwaukee.
After being released in July, Woodford made 2 appearances with the Cubs, then ended up back with the Rays in August. He made one Major League appearance for Tampa Bay on September 24.
Being the only player to appear for both teams in 2026, Woodford will go down as a World Series champion no matter who wins! π

Just want to see how the fanbase perceives this offseason, especially from a prospect-capital perspective and the roster holes that need to be filled.

Analyst Lance Brozdowski went through each team and tallied their analytics staff, finding that the d-backs have only 13 people on their analytics team. In contrast, the Rays have 50, Cleveland has 38, and the Brewers have 32.
By Brozdowski's count, the average analytics staff has roughly 25 people on it and the average playoff team's analytics staff has roughly 29 people on it.
Another analyst, Zack Scott, came to a slightly different count and found the d-backs had the third smallest analytics team.
Of course, the head count might not reflect the resources the d-backs put into analytics - maybe they outsource some of their analytics work or maybe the 13 people they have are elite.
I know not everyone is a fan of the focus on analytics in modern baseball, but I found this interesting and worrisome.

Iβve been keeping an eye on Carlos Virahonda this year. Who else in the system do you think is ready to take a step forward? Curious if anyone has a sleeper theyβre watching.

On todays episode, Teruaki Sato. Hes a corner infielder at 3B that can also play corner outfield. According to a few posts ive seen around reddit he can also slot in at 1B and DH. Food for thought but maybe this is the big splash Hazen needs in the overseas market. And yes i only bring this up because he was posted early because hes expected to have a contract before a potential lockout.

I've been trying (with no success) to track down photos or video from the June 5, 2007 Diamondbacks game against the Giants. It was a Tuesday night game that the Dbacks won 4-3 in ten innings on a Chris Young walkoff homer off Kevin Correia.
During BP, three members of the Arizona Cardinals - Matt Leinart, Anquan Boldin, and head coach Ken Whisenhunt - stepped in to take a few swings. The only photo I've found from this has Leinart in a white Dbacks jersey, but nothing of Boldin or Whisenhunt. This is after scouring through newspaper archives, what I could access through the Wayback Machine on both teams' official sites, and so on.
Does anyone know if photos or video from this exist at all?
