Hi, I'm a iowa state student who used to play drums back at home and I've been really depressed about not being able to play drums recently. Is there any place that I can rent out or practice with a drum kit? Thank you!

My roommates are moving out at the end of November in the middle of our lease and I don't want to break the lease nor double what I'm paying for rent, so my partner and I are looking for a new roommate starting in December.

Rent is $1400 plus utilities, so you'd be paying $466 plus utilities which is usually around $50. You'd have two rooms and your own bathroom. Free parking and internet. Ground floor. Our lease currently lasts until July 27th, 2027.

Let me know if you'd be interested or have any questions.

The New Sincerest’s first autumn set at Morning Bell Coffee Roasters is happening TONIGHT, Friday October 23rd starting at 9pm! The New Sincerest’s sets have everything you need for a night out: bumping music, delicious cocktails and mocktails, tarot card readings, photo opportunities, and so much more.

🎧🖤 After summer sets of colorful hyperpop, irreverent electroclash, and Balearic inspirations, October's set will be headed in a darker, moodier direction for the season. Nocturnal neon synthwave, dreamy and dense goth, grimy yet layered techno, and subterranean dub will be on the decks all night, so come on over to Morning Bell Coffee Roasters on Main Street to catch the autumnal groove.

👔 Dress code: Goth, leather and denim, black, moons and stars. Costumes are also encouraged for the Halloween season!

🗓️ See you October 23rd at 9pm at Morning Bell Coffee Roaster

Best places to go to for a (hopefully) cheap computer repair? The hinge on my Dell Inspiron 16 7620 2-in-1 has come loose, and am hoping to find someone who can fix it. If it’s well over $100, I might give up hope and just buy a different cheap used laptop since I only need one for six more months :(

Currently looking for any local musicians around Ames Iowa for a party on the 1st of November if you would like to get your name out there I can definitely set you up a gig

Which Ames-based radio channels play old school RnB or jazz; artists like Christoper Cross, Ray Parker Jr, Al Jarreau, ABBA, Charles & Eddie, Maxwell, Dionne Warwick, etc?

I’d appreciate recommendations

I started “Support the Rights and Dignity of Trans People” on Amendment. This is for state-level candidates in Iowa. I ask that state-level candidates go on record to support the rights and dignity of trans people. Iowans should know what the people running to represent them stand for.

I’m looking to get a couple items tailored. One is a sweatshirt that just needs thumb holes put in it and the other is the lining of a leather jacket that needs repaired.

I used to go to a woman named Marianne who had a tailoring business out of her home, but the phone number I have for her doesn’t work anymore.

Does anyone know of any shop — or ideally an individual person with a business — who could help with these things? Any shop recommendations? I live in Ankeny and the primary shop here wasn’t willing to help.

If anyone is in contact with Marianne and knows if she still does alterations and/or repairs that would be even better!!! I have her last name but didn’t want to put it here just in case.

This week’s notes plus a catch-up post for the last meeting in September. Sorry for the late posts, thanks for looking!

Anyone been to Ledges recently? If so, how muddy are the main walking/hiking paths? Are the leaves starting to change? Just wondering if it's worth the drive up from DSM this weekend or better to wait a few more weeks! Thanks!

where can i get some pupusas??

I'm an employee through Aerotek and I am temporary out of work for the next week I was wondering if there's any jobs I can work to make money so I can pay some bills
