App - Free Opensource WearOS app for mistral AI (and more providers soon) :D

Hi!

I own a Pixel Watch 5, most smartwatches that run Android will give you Gemini as the default and only AI out of the box. I wanted to make my own native app because I don't want to use Gemini + by making my own app I could make something fun and good that goes beyond what's currently there.

Wearstral is open source and its code can be found on GitHub (https://github.com/Hiburger/Wearstral), it works well with my API. Hopefully you'll find it useful too. It's of course easy to use and privacy friendly.

Where it gets complicated is the installation, because I haven't published it on Play store yet, you'll have to be a bit techy and use adb. Mistral Vibe CLI helped a lot the whole time with the code :)

You can find screenshots on the GitHub repo mentioned above, and I obviously take feedbacks/questions ! There's also a roadmap there, when omong other things I plan to add support for other providers aswell.

Thank you ! 🧡

News PocketPet Autumn Update is here!

🍂 PocketPet Autumn Update is here!

Hey everyone!

I’m happy to share that a new Autumn Update for PocketPet is now available. 🐾

Over the last few months we’ve been gradually reworking different parts of the project, and this update is another big step forward for us.

One of the biggest changes is the visual overhaul of the game. We’ve reworked a lot of the graphics, improved the environments and seasonal backgrounds, and tried to make the little world around your pet feel warmer, more detailed, and more alive.

The autumn update also brings a new seasonal atmosphere to PocketPet with cozy fall environments and new content for your pets.

But this is only the beginning.

A completely redesigned Season Pass is coming soon.

Instead of the old linear reward track, the new system will give you Season Stars for daily logins. You’ll be able to spend those stars on the rewards you actually want and gradually unlock new reward pages.

There will be two seasonal collections:

🍂 Free Autumn Pass — available to everyone, with coins, food, useful items, autumn cosmetics and seasonal backgrounds.

🎃 Halloween Pass — an additional premium seasonal collection with exclusive Halloween outfits, backgrounds and other themed rewards.

We’re currently finishing the Halloween content as well, including new costumes, spooky locations and a few ideas that should make the seasonal environments feel even more alive.

PocketPet has grown much more than I originally expected, and seeing people continue to open the app, take care of their pets and leave feedback is still one of the best parts of working on this project.

Thank you to everyone who plays PocketPet, sends feedback, leaves reviews, reports bugs, or simply checks on their little pet every day.

There’s still a lot we want to improve, but PocketPet is continuing to grow — one update at a time.

Autumn is here. Halloween is coming.

Thank you for being part of PocketPet!

I've made a few posts on KeyUp over the past month or so, and just wanted to post a final update that we are officially out of closed testing and published on Google Play for production!

Tons of new features. I won't post everything here but will put the link to Google play and just wanted to say thanks for the testing that you guys/girls did, really helped a lot in shaping where this app has gotten to so far.

I hope it works well for everyone, and any issues/bugs please report. Will look at it ASAP.

Recommendation Request Should I trade my Galaxy Watch 6 for a Pixel Watch 2?

I recently swapped my Galaxy Z Flip 5 for a Pixel 8 Pro. I was deep in the Samsung ecosystem with my Tab S9 and Galaxy Buds 2. I found a Marketplace offer to trade my Galaxy Watch 6 straight up for a Pixel Watch 2. I'm aware of the PW2's thicker bezels and smaller screen, but I'm curious about the ecosystem integration. The last 'Pixel-like' phone I used was the Nexus 4, so switching to the Pixel 8 Pro has been fun. Is the ecosystem integration really worth a slightly thicker watch and smaller screen, or should I just stick with my GW6?

App - Free Type on your phone instead of your tiny Wear OS keyboard

I got tired of typing on my Pixel Watch 3’s tiny keyboard, so I made Pixel Remote Keyboard.

Open a text field on your watch, type on your phone, then tap Insert on watch to send the text over

It’s especially useful for URLs, searches, and text that voice dictation struggles with.

Features:

  • Type or paste text from your phone.
  • Supports Unicode text and emoji.
  • Native crown scrolling on the watch.
  • Switch back to Gboard whenever you want.
  • No ads, subscriptions, accounts, or text history.
  • Open source

It can also be extremely useful for developers

Install the companion app on your phone and the keyboard on your watch. You may need ADB to install the watch APK, but typing works without it.

I’ve tested it with my Pixel 7 and Pixel Watch 3. It’s still in beta, and I’d love to hear how it works on other Wear OS watches.

Support Sideloading Health Apps

Hi, has anyone had any luck sideloading fitness apps? I've got a OnePlus Watch 3 and previously I used Google Fit to sync steps to Vitality (UK health insurance) to earn points. Fit has been discontinued and I need to sync either via Google or Samsung Health apps.

Samsung Health looks like a non starter. I was able to sideload an old version of the fitbit app which seemed to work tracking steps but didnt sync all steps (I did 9,000 yesterday and 2,500 were registered).

Using Health connect to share to Google health is not possible, the steps need to natively come from either Google Health or Samsung Health.

Thanks.

App - Testers Wanted Nail Guard (Wear OS): your feedback is in build 7, and I’m looking for more testers

Thumbnail

Hi all! A few days ago I shared Nail Guard, a Wear OS app that learns the pose of your habit (nail biting, face touching, hair pulling…) and gives your wrist a gentle buzz when your hand goes there.

You sent me great feedback, so I got to work. Here’s what’s new in build 7:

  • Night pause now: going to bed earlier than usual? Start the night pause with one tap. Awake again? Stop it just as easily.
  • Night times per 15 minutes: you’re no longer stuck on whole hours. Sleep at 23:30? Set it with the crown or − / +.
  • Two tiles: one for night pause and one to snooze for 15, 30, 60 or 120 min, one swipe from your watch face.
  • No more flash: changing a setting or turning Nail Guard on/off no longer flashes the screen.

Still on my list: checking how it behaves next to “Raise to talk” on newer watches.

The update is waiting for Google’s review and should reach testers soon.

I need more testers 🙏
To publish on Google Play, I need 12 testers who keep the app installed for 14 days. It’s a closed test, so it works like this:

  1. DM me the Google account email you use on your watch. Please don’t post it in the comments.
  2. I add you to the test and send you the join link.
  3. Open the link on your pc with that same account, then install Nail Guard on your watch.
  4. Record your pose (about a minute) and keep it installed for 14 days.

It’s free, and every bit of feedback helps, good or bad. Thanks for helping! 💙

  1. Open the test registration page:

https://play.google.com/apps/testing/ch.hygro.padelscore

  1. Select “Become a tester”.

  2. Open Google Play and install Padel Score on your compatible Wear OS watch.

Please test the app during real or simulated matches. Feedback about usability, layout, scoring, crashes, or other issues is very welcome.

App - Testers Wanted [DEV] Looking for testers for my new app Wear Gestures.

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hello everyone!

I've just finished working on a new app for Wear OS and Android called Wear Gestures, and I'm looking for some beta testers.

The core idea is simple: the app allows you to assign specific actions to one of 7 available wrist/hand gestures.A cool feature I added is Webhook support! In plain English, this means you can use gestures to do things like turning your smart home devices (lights, smart plugs, etc.) on or off right from your wrist.

I’m really curious to hear your thoughts, get your feedback, and see if you find this kind of app useful in your daily life.

What's in it for you?

  • The app is completely free to use during the testing phase (until December 15th).
  • Anyone who helps me test it and provides feedback will receive a free promo code for the full version once the app is officially released to production! 🎁

How to join: Since the app is currently in closed testing, I need to add testers manually. If you're interested, please send me a Private Message with your Google Play Store email address. I will add you to the testers list and reply with the download link.

Thank you in advance to everyone who decides to help out. I really appreciate it!

App - Paid - One-Time [Tile][App] New Update to Sun & Moon Tiles (Now Sun, Moon & Tide Tiles)

Post image
6 Upvotes

Greetings WearOs community!

I've published a new update to my Sun & Moon Tiles app which is now called Sun, Moon & Tide Tiles.

While all the previously available information on tiles for sun and moon are still there (sun/moon rise/set times, moon phase, day length etc), I've overhauled the UI for a more modern and clean look.

I've also added a new Tide tile which shows times and heights of high and low tides + current tide height for the coastal station near your location.

App - Paid - One-Time I Built a Smartwatch App That Pauses Your Podcasts and Audio Books When You Fall Asleep

Post image
0 Upvotes

Sleep To Pause is a super simple app - If you're listening to an audio podcast or audio book and starting to drift off to sleep, then you can start the "Sleep To Pause" app and a countdown timer will start (set between 3-15 minutes) - Once the countdown reaches 0, the watch will vibrate.

If it detects you moving your wrist within 5 seconds of the vibration, the timer resets. If it doesn't detect movement, then a "final countdown" starts for 60 seconds. After this 60 seconds, another final vibration occurs on the watch. If you move your wrist within 5 seconds of the vibration, all the timers start again. If you don't move your wrist, it sends a message to the companion app on your phone, and that will pause audio of whatever app you have playing audio (e.g. Amazon Music, Spotify, etc.)

This way, when you wake up the next morning, it's super easy to find the point of your audio book or podcast where you fell asleep.

No personal data recorded, no health monitoring, just a super simple solution.

Support Battery Usage

Hello everyone,

I got my OnePlus Wear 2 watch about a month ago, and about a week ago battery drainage issues started, and did a full reset, and still the battery drains pretty much quickly, I don't get nor 100 of promised working hours, and barely 48 hours.

I looked at the battery usage and saw this, basically all of the apps work in the background from the moment I wake up.

Help on fixing this issue would be extremely appreciated.

So I bought the mi band 10 a couple of days ago and i was surprised how mild it is vibration is. It doesnt get any near of waking me up which was the main reason i bought it for

Can you guys give me suggestion of other bands or smartwatches that really have strong vibration
