I've never had one of these and it seems a little confusing lol. Based on the little bit of research that I was doing before, it sounds like the TurboDuo can play the Super CDs by default whereas with the TurboGrafx-16 and TurboGrafx-CD you need an additional card to be able to play those games. I've also read some people saying the TurboDuo is less reliable due to capacitor issues or something though, so dunno if it's advised to avoid them?

Basically I haven't actually bought any console yet so was trying to figure that out, and then also was wondering if there are like flash cards or such that would allow me to play all of the games or at least like most of them, since it seems like games are really expensive at this point so dunno that I'll be collecting much.

I stand corrected. As confirmed by Elmer, the project is still alive and hasn't been abandoned, even after all these years. I'll remove everything and encourage everyone to follow its progress, hopefully here on this subreddit.

This patch has been in the works for quite some time! Maybe some of you remember me hinting it over the years… well, now here it is!

Thanks to the Xak duology subtitle hack, I've learned enough to display subtitles in the cinematics of Cosmic Fantasy 1 as well.

Subtitles, story and NPC dialogues, all the UI I could find and game text are in English.

I did NOT translate the game. The patch hacks the script from Cosmic Fantasy Collection 1 in and applies subtitles, thiis accounts for almost 2,600 unique text entries.

The subtitles use a custom renderer that covers 364 captions across 59 audio tracks, which required a lot of timing and mapping effort, which my 2 friends and I did. The Collection was a great reference for this as well, but due to PCE CD requirements, some timing changes were needed.

Because the game uses a really cool font for location naming, rather than replacing it, I decided to add an English caption, which you can see in the first pic.

And yes, the patch corrects the battle message error that Edia never fixed.

Cosmic Fantasy 2 (as undub and just sub), 3, and the two 4s are also possible.

AI was NOT used for hacking, testing and packaging. An agent was used to write the documentation because I'm lazy.

Patch here! If you play this via CD, please let me know if you encounter any bugs or odd things.

Just to know if they are banned in this subreddit...

Looking to get one of the mini consoles, I know they're expensive, but the Japanese import one is a bit less so, and I'm wondering if all region consoles have all languages of the games they have or if they're region locked.

Also, I guess I should ask if the PC Engine Mini has a menu language selector, too. lol.

I got my first Core Grafx a couple of months ago and I gave it a proper refurbishment and cleaning, including cleaning the power switch with 99% Alcohol to make sure it cleanly switches.

Flash forward to a couple months later, I go to turn it on to play and for the life of me I can't switch the power to on. The only way I can turn it on is to open the console and switch it over without using the green plastic overlay which is obviously not ideal.

Idk I've never had an issue like this. My only plan of action I can think of is to clean the switch using electronic cleaner to try and loosen it. Has anyone ever had an issue like this before?

Hoping someone has encountered these in the past and I won’t have I go the custom route.
