I was diagnosed with both of these. And I am shocked. It's my first time being diagnosed with a gut problem.
Is this common in rwanda?
The h. pylori could have been there for a long time. This is by far the most dangerous as it could cause ulcer. This could have been proliferated by the lack of diversity of foods in my diet. It can also be transmitted by kissing?? wtf???
I am not much worried about ascariasis. I believe i got this because I eat a lot of raw fruits and vegetables.
I have a question regarding this: What hygeine precautions do you follow for eating raw fruits and vegetables? Should I be worried about the cleaniness of the tap water for washing cooking utensils? And should I take extra measures in separating outdoor shoes from what I wear inside to avoid transmission through infected soil?

This one is tough and makes people sensitive. What personal hygiene were you taught and what are you still following? I keep meeting people with strange “scents” across different parts of the country and I wonder what was the initial education.

Y'all without wasting anyone's time and all i do have something so share. I actually confirmed that i am in love and it was the most weirdest way to find out.
He yelled at me. That is how i found out.
For context i was diagnosed with ADHD years ago. It is a neurodevelopmental brain disorder that i guess most people deem quirky because of its symptoms, normal people have them too but for people with it it's a disability which is very detrimental. With ADHD we experience things differently including any emotions like love, etc..
Adhd has very many horrible symptoms, the one i hate the most is the impulsiveness that it brings and the rejection sensitivity dysphoria( basically any slight change in routine will have me believing that this person hates me solely), there's different types of ADHD. Mine is combinational meaning i am hyper focused but also very inattentive it is a constant war zone in my head. I will hyper focus on the weird things he said but not very attentive when i am being loved.
You can imagine how hard it is for me yes, but also for the people who love me, i know it's hard for them. I know no one wants to admit it but i am really hard to love sometimes, other times i am awesome.
The combination of the two symptoms i mentioned above makes it hard for me to have fulfilling relationships and since it is hard, i thrive to leave when things feel hard, also the combination i mentioned above ruined the relationship i had with the person i mentioned i think i love, i can't cry wolf and blame everything on my diagnosis but if i am being honest it really is my diagnosis that led to that chaos lol. And as accountable as i am all i can hope for is to keep going to therapy and taking my medication and working on myself. I wasn't diagnosed so long ago so i am still learning myself not as a faulty person i thought i was or someone who can never makeup their minds like i thought i was but rather as a person whose brain works differently who needs grace sometimes. So they are days where i fall back in my habits and these habits ruin good things for me.
Now back to what i was saying. He yelled at me and i deserved it, i want to stay and work on myself and better myself for us. The thing is he understands me probably better than anyone i have ever known. Knowingly or unknowingly he's very reassuring on days where i don't know how to ask for it, i grew up masking a lot so vulnerability feels like death to me at least. With him i am nothing but vulnerable, and it's so embarrassing but safe. I guess what i am trying to say is that i have been yelled at a lot by so many people. He yelled at me in a way that was so harsh but also so reassuring and idk if he knew that as he was yelling or if he's just an incredible person. Anyway i think i love him.
This whole rant is really not going anywhere, it's just a realization that i have had in all my years of living and i know we all struggle differently especially since different developmental problems aren't as addressed in our community so i figured incase there's someone out there who goes through what i or anyone who is neurodivergent goes through. They're not alone.
And to boast that i am actually in love and it feels okey With or without this person. I used to wonder if i ever will feel that because i had to wear a mask everywhere but now i know that there's at least one person who knows me as messed up as i can get and even when they're completely enraged by me they still find ways to yell at me in a very loving and human way.

I have been trying to check & compare the bride price both in Uganda & Rwanda to see how they differ . I wonder how many cows the girl's family ask if u want to marry their daughter in Rwanda , do you pay it in cash ( money) or bring the cows ?
How do poor families do it compared to middle class and wealthy families . Somebody share knowledge on this matter for me.

Muraho!
I’m a foreigner who relocated to Kigali a few months ago for a professional role. I am really enjoying my time in Rwanda, but as I settle into my job, I’m realizing there are cultural nuances in the workplace that I’m still struggling to fully grasp.
I know every country has its own unspoken rules regarding professional etiquette, team dynamics, and communication. I genuinely want to adapt, collaborate effectively with my local colleagues, and make sure I'm respecting the work culture here.
For locals and expats who have experience in the Rwandan corporate or NGO space, I’d love your advice:
Communication & Feedback: What is the best way to handle professional communication? How is constructive feedback usually given and received without causing friction?
Workplace Dynamics: What are the general expectations around hierarchy, raising concerns, or decision-making?
Common Faux Pas: What are the most common blind spots or mistakes you see foreigners make when they first start working with Rwandan teams?
I’m eager to learn and would appreciate any insights on how to be a better, more culturally aware colleague.
Murakoze cyane!

Hello everyone,
I need some advice regarding Rwanda’s vehicle technical inspection process.
I attended my first vehicle technical inspection appointment on Friday, 23 October 2026, but unfortunately, my car failed the inspection. I immediately rescheduled the second visit for Saturday, 24 October 2026.
However, my car wasn't ready for the reinspection, so I couldn't attend the second appointment.
Now, when I try to reschedule through Irembo, I get an error message saying “Vehicle not found” after entering my vehicle's registration number.
I'm trying to find out what I should do next and whether it's still possible to reschedule my second inspection for Monday, 26 October 2026.
So far, I've emailed the Rwanda National Police at [commdai@police.gov.rw](mailto:commdai@police.gov.rw) and sent them a message on WhatsApp, but I haven't received a response yet.
Has anyone experienced this issue before? If so:
I'd really appreciate any advice from anyone who has dealt with this situation or knows how the process works.
Thank you!

How does one find specific projects to join in Kigali? Tree plantings, local cleanups, house buildings or repair? This is my first Umuganda here and I want to help.

Hi all - I'll be visiting Rwanda in late December for 5 days. I have my gorilla trekking permit, and I intend to rent a car at the airport. I wanted to ask a few logistical questions:
Given I have my permit, do I just need to arrive at the volcanoes NP office/visitors centre at 7am, and guides will be there to take me on the trek, or do I need to book/arrange something else beforehand?
I think the road is paved all the way to Kinigi, so is a normal car sufficient, or do I also need to drive to the trekking trail head, and potentially need a 4x4?
I will spend two nights there, and then I'd like to drive south to Nyungwe NP for chimpanzee tracking. Is the road in good condition, and should I be aware of anything en route?
I have not booked a permit for the chimpanzee tracking, but I can see it on the website. Same question as for the gorilla trek - if I get the permit, do I just need to arrive at the NP ranger station at a specific time in the morning and guides will be there?
I may need to drive back to Kigali in darkness on my last evening to catch a flight the next day - how is night driving in Rwanda?
Thanks for the help!
