Are you registered to vote in Phelps county, and have you early voted yet? It's super easy to vote early, you don't need a special excuse, just head over the Phelps County Courthouse (https://maps.app.goo.gl/5dWhwuJVzP6fbNAS6).

Enter through the front doors, walk through the security checkpoint, and head to your left. Some friendly people will greet you. Have your photo ID ready. They'll hand you a ballot, you take a seat and fill it out (both sides), and run it through the machine and take your "I Voted" sticker. Takes less than 5 minutes.

If you aren't sure if you are registered or where, check here: https://voteroutreach.sos.mo.gov/portal/

Chime in once you've voted to let everyone know!

The headline for Placide Houser’s letter, “Amendment 6 could be Disastrous…” is quite a dramatic statement, whoever wrote it.

Which petitions, written and signed by 100,000s of Missourians, were ever passed that attacked gun ownership, parental rights, or created sanctuary cities in Missouri? Who can convince the majority of Missourians to vote for a petition that is unpopular, unconstitutional, and bought and paid for? That would be the current Legislature, not voters. They overturned an election result in 2024, disrespecting 57% of statewide voters. That kind of majority in today’s Missouri shows that voters of all political persuasions agreed.

How can anyone argue that only Democrat voters passed that petition into law, or signed this one to go on the ballot? But it is true that Republican politicians who voted that day in 2025, on the record, overturned it.

Can we talk reasonably as fellow Missourians? We petitioners are unpaid volunteers. We asked voters if they would sign while the politics of 2025 was used to scare them with a felony and fine if they signed twice one of many petitions around then. Some declined stating their signatures could affect their jobs or their home life, all while lies spread about how we were fake out-of-staters. One woman yelled and took photos of me and an out-of-state licensed car parked close by — not mine of course.

Politicians like to say voters are stupid or less informed than them, and yet over 80% of statewide primary voters said “no” to Amendments 4 and 5 — both written and passed by the Legislature. To keep our right to pass our own petitions we have to make sure the Legislature knows an election result is constitutionally protected. And to change or overturn it should be agreed to by a big enough majority — again an 80% vote — to convince Missourians to vote again on the same issue. The state rewording our petitions to make it hard to be sure how to vote is a very public concern. Yes on Amendment 6 will enforce our 100+ year law that all Missouri voters can speak as a group to our state government. Most voters will have to agree for that to happen.

Friendly neighborhood new here person again, where should I take my tween trick or treating as the street we live on is not it? y'all got any trunk or treat things going on? any major streets that go all out I should be on the look out for?

For context Im a highschool Junior with good GPA and test scores

looking at Missouri S&T, my main question is how good the mechanical engineering is compared to other schools, and if it is a good school if I want to work in automotive as all the other major schools I can find online that would be good either cost way more, or would be worse according to what I can find to S&T

Hello All, I have a question and hoping someone has an answer. For the longest time I would drive down Pine St on my way home from work just to see this particular vehicle. I’ve dubbed it the “Happy Truck” and it has always brought me great joy to see it, often turning a bad day into a good one. Lately I haven’t seen it, at least since sometime this summer. Does anyone know what happened to it or where it is? The attached picture is my own from Google Earth, for reference. Thank you in advance.

I'm looking to buy a car. I'm still a student here so I can't spend much (around 5k-7k) I don't expect the car to be really really good, just good enough to get me from point A to point B without much trouble.

Any leads are sincerely appreciated

Has anyone else had an awful experience with these people? They're trying to keep $850 from our deposit for "mowing and weeding the front and back yards". Have they tried to fuck over anyone else?

Be safe out there friends.

Just had a few questions about rolla as I will most likely be studying there. First is it safe and what crimes should I be vigilant of?

Second is there a large international student community or is it mostly local?

Also any recommendations for accomdation, looking for one to two bedroom apartments in a nice area near S&T.

I mean it’s Wednesday… edited*

I am relocating to Rolla for a new job and am looking for a short term or month to month rental while I find a permanent place and establish income history. I have a spouse and service dog. DMs are open.

There is a friendly stray cat in the Rolla area that I’ve been interacting with. While purring, it makes a heavy, congested rattling sound and occasionally does something that looks like sneezing/coughing.

Since it's a stray and not my personal pet, I'm looking for advice or resources on affordable local clinics, rescue groups, or organizations in Rolla that might be able to check or treat a stray cat with upper respiratory issues without high costs.

Any recommendations or contacts would be greatly appreciated.

Hey guys I was doing a residency out in Belle and came to Rolla to make a RT66 video and ended up finding so much more than I expected. Great town! hit the link to check out the video!

No excuse absentee voting starts tomorrow. Anyone who wants to vote early can go by the county courthouse and vote. Weekdays through November 2nd with one Saturday open from 8 to noon on Halloween.

ICE seen today near IHop this afternoon. Apply caution.

Hello. I'm a thirty year old guy who has been here over fifteen years in Rolla. I'm looking to broaden my social circle by finding people, groups, or clubs with similar interests. I'm into cartoons/anime, Pokemon, journaling, dungeons and dragons, poetry, writing letters, Super Smash Bros., corny jokes, nature and outdoor activities, and being introduced to and trying new things. I like some board and card games as long as the rules are simple.

I'm left leaning and I support the lgbtq community. I would love to find someone else with dogs so that my dog could come over and play or go on walks with them. I am also a dog sitter, so I can talk about dogs all day. It would also be fun to to have someone to clean and pick up trash with while walking. I have been thinking about getting back into Pokemon Go, but that game is much more fun with friends.

If you think we might have something in common, please feel free to message me see if we have good vibes to see if we maybe meet up in the future.

What car dealership do you guys recommend, or best place to get a cheap car. Our car randomly broke down.
