Making a template with my Cricut machine helps SO much with the process. I can just tape it down and run my marker through it without having to very carefully follow lines like you do when transferring a pattern light-box style. It also makes each pattern practically identical 🤌

The only “con” is it leaves these gaps where I made tabs in the pattern so that the plastic sheet had structure to it, and contained the pattern lines instead of just being a silhouette. I love connecting them afterwards, I find it very satisfying

I am at my wits end. I bought a bunch of Knit picks brava sport weight and have tried using the largest size on both my ultra punch and Mina Carin needles and it just does not work. Tried a random large needle (don’t even know the size) and it works better than both. Never had this issue before.

Fabric is something I’ve used many times before and never had any issue with. Seems like I need a bigger size needle but everyone on here recommends this yarn and weight. Help!!

For the 21st anniversary of club penguin ( which was my obsession as a kid) I had to do a few designs!! There are a few mistakes but overall I'm happy with them ☺️🐧

I'm planning on making some chinelle style patches for a jacket project, and after looking into various embroidery styles, I think punch needle will get me the results closest to what I want to emulate.

After making a trial project (the above rug mug), I am thinking fingering yarn on linen will be my best bet for the level of detail I'm going to need. However, it's also pretty apparent that my cheep punch needle won't cut it. I'm looking at an Oxford punch that is fine 1/4", but am interested in other suggestions. Also thinking i will need to invest in something better than an embroidery hoop.

I'm going to be using knit picks palette, mainly because of the color range and price (don't love knitting with it, but i think it will be good for this) because I want 100% wool rather than acrylic.

I bought the Oxford company 18"x18" gripper frame, and to be honest, it is not working for me at all. I like to punch needle on my couch while watching TV and this frame is supper heavy and awkward to use for this purpose, even when used on the dinner table.

Anyway, my plan is to return it and buy a gripper frame that can be attached to a stand/holder.

Does anyone have any of these or recommendations on where to buy one (I've been looking at ETSY, but open to other places)?

I'm new to punch needle. When I punch into the canvas, it either leaves a big hole or the yarn doesn't stay on the other side. Am I doing something wrong?

Hello all! I’m in my multiple hobby era and punch needle seemed to be a good project to try. However, I was really overwhelmed with all the options, the tips, the tricks, the small details.. I found someone on tiktok and watched a lot of her videos and started to fully trust her, so I decided to try one of her kits. I can’t brag about this kit enough. I know there is always a learning curve to things, but the way that Avery put her kit together, her grade A supplies, and her very informative tutorial videos, she made it so much easier and I’m hooked. I’ve finally found a hobby I really enjoy, not toooo expensive and easy to do wherever. Can be personal etc. but what do you do with all of the work? I have storage containers and do holiday themed ones now to bring out for every occasion. I’m starting to be that person that just gifts you something I made for every occasion. But I’m not fully confident and overthink my materials. A lot of people gatekeeper their products too. I’m just using Michael’s and Amazon. Switching between the Mina Carin and some bigger random needle from Amazon that’s adjustable. I use acrylic size 4 yarn for the bigger needle and size 2 cotton or acrylic for the Mina Carin. And holy moly do I enjoy, and much prefer making these little guys. It helps keep the joy in the creative process to make something that doesn’t require as much time and effort. I might swap over to doing mostly small projects like these with only a side of bigger art like my pet portraits

In addition, they’re also cheaper 🤌 so that helps with selling the art as well

I have officially completed my first non-kit design! I’m wondering how to finish it? I realize i probably should’ve done this right onto a frame but clearly we are past that point lol. If anyone has a link to a frame or any tips all is welcome! Also, any tips to get better are greatly appreciated! TIA

This was my first attempt at trying to make a punch needle coaster...

As you can probably see, the lines are not crisp, and the face details are quite bad looking.

I need some advice on how I can improve it for the next attempt. My needle can adjust at 3 different lengths. The length I had it on before was the medium length, but maybe I should do the shortest length?

Is it possible that I am clustering them too close together?

I learned a lot. Predominantly that I’m terrible at whip stitching. Was trying to finish it as a patch for a sweatshirt, but it’s looking a little rough around the edges (literally).

This is my first kit. As I started it I started reading how tis and watching you tube videos , so you can kind of see the progression.

As winter is coming, I'd like to do more to keep me busy. I don't want to go nuts but I saved around 100$ budget for a winter hobby, so I'm wondering which would be the wisest move :

I'm in Nova Scotia so lots of crafts here just don't know where to start.

I also think I want to get a non slip hoop or frame because this has been a battle to keep tensed. If anyone can suggest a good frame or loop ?
