  10. Warning: Google will no longer necessarily get you max conversions on your budget when using tCPA/tROAS

We will update as time goes on and add more new posts to the list. Also, any post that just asks "what will happen" or "how should we react" will get removed since both of those questions get asked above already a few times. We want posts with fresh takes or new POVs and not the same question asked a dozen times.

P.S. If I missed a post, let me know and I can add it into the list.

MOD MESSAGE PPC Salary Survey 2026 Final Report - 11th Year Edition

Howdy Y'All

Our 11th year in the books. This year we got 445, which is about a 40% drop in responses due to me switching email platforms. Sadly a lot of emails seem to have hit people's spam folder. A bit of bad luck.

Countries/regions are listed in alphabetical as we got 110+ slides. For reporting, the bar is 20 for the USA and 10 for the rest of world to show a country, region, province/state or a city. The Netherlands is still in the top 3 countries this year. They knocked out Canada for the top 3rd spot for number of responses. USA and UK are top 1 and 2 and Canada was number 4. Congrats to each country.

Some Notes

  • It feels like salaries are not growing and getting compressed if you work a salaried job.
  • Does not feel like we are bringing in enough junior level people which could spell trouble for our industry down the line
  • Some people have 1-3 years experience in paid but having been working for 8-10 years, thus they can skew salaries higher.
  • Some people include their bonus in their salaries I imagine. This can make their salary higher than someone who might not have. Hence why we try to use the median salary across all reports

Results Served Two Ways

Google Slides 2026 Salary Survey

or

PDF 2026 Salary Survey

Thanks you for helping make this happen. I spend a couple weeks on this project each year and it's truly interesting to see the data doing this labour of love project.

If you see a mistake or you think something is off, let me know in the comments and I'll look into it when I get a chance this week. This folder has past salary survey results.

Meta Ads PPC agencies..do you track what happens to whatsapp leads after the click?

• Upvotes

More of our clients run ads straight to whatsapp now.. our reports look fine but we have zero visibility on whether their team replies or closes anything..

A friend’s agency resells a whatsapp inbox to clients under their own brand so they can see the whole funnel and bill it monthly. ,Anyone here tried that? did clients get it or see it as upselling?

ChatGPT Ads Chatgpt Ads Audiences

• Upvotes

Has anyone had a chance to utilise Chatgpt ads "audiences" yet?

I've seen that for them to be used for targeting and bid adjustments you need a minimum of 25k+ matched, which seems quite big to me and something that only enterprises would be able to provide.

Tools We say no to every non-SaaS referral and idk if that’s smart or stupid

• Upvotes

So I run a small paid ads agency, all our clients are SaaS. They refer us a lot which is honestly the best part. But like once a month someone goes "hey my friend has a dental clinic, can you help her too?” Or it’s an online store. Or a restaurant. Or a real estate agency.

And we always say no lol. Even when the budget is actually better than some of our SaaS clients.

Couple of reasons:

  1. Most of the time the ads aren’t even the problem. The real win is usually somewhere else. Bad onboarding, a weird trial email, a landing page talking to the wrong person, or the whole ICP being off. I can see that stuff in SaaS bc I’ve seen it a hundred times. With a dental clinic I’d just be running ads and hoping.
  2. SaaS alone is already a lot. A $100k enterprise tool and a $10/month app are basically different planets. We already need different playbooks just inside SaaS. Adding restaurants on top of that feels like a fast way to be mid at everything.
  3. Stuff compounds. The tracking mess we fixed last month is the first thing we check with the next client. That only works if the next client is kinda similar.
  4. Tbh I just like it. Watching SaaS go from all-in-one tools to vertical SaaS to all the AI stuff now is genuinely fun to be part of.

My mom always says it’s better to do one thing really well than a bunch of things badly. Turns out she was kinda right about business too.

But yeah it’s not free. We 100% leave money on the table, and if SaaS budgets ever dry up we don’t really have a plan B.

Other agency people, did niching down actually work out for you? Or did you end up taking everyone again?

Tools Rules engines vs AI agents for PPC, what's the actual difference in practice?

A lot of PPC teams run on rules-based tools like optymzr: shopping builds, budget alerts, rules that flag spend spikes, a thread here a few months back was a team paying for it and mostly using budget alerts, and the advice was to start with one workflow. Made me wonder how far people actually liked it.

The gap I keep running into with rules: they tell you cpa crossed $40, but not why. Was it a setting that changed on tuesday, a tracking break, an auction shift, or one ad eating the budget? Someone still has to go dig. That digging is the part that newer AI agents say they handle: watch the account, investigate when something moves, and draft a fix for someone to approve.

The open question for me is whether that actually replaces work or just moves it to reviewing what the agents suggest.

For people who've used either or both: what does a rules tool still do better? And has anything actually taken the "why did this move" digging off your plate?

Google Ads Google reps screw over another client but they keep coming back

I really think this kind of behavior should be studied by a psychologist or something as it is some kind of Stockholm syndrome.

I was brought on to offer advice on a Google ads account for a CPG company and part of that was them wanting me to meet with their Google rep. The company had some issues where almost all of its performance was being carried by branded traffic but they wanted to expand while keep current ROAS targets which would be utterly impossible when you're sitting at a 95% IS for brand and non-brand will of course convert less than brand. But anyways, we meet with the google rep.

His great idea was to start a demand gen campaign. It was pretty clear this person could not explain why he thought this would work out. I said to him "I've seen this work for bigger clients who can afford to throw 5 figures daily at demand gen, but even then it had extremely little incremental value. We can't afford to spend that much." But the client, desperate for more money, was able to broker a deal where they got some credit from google and would run a very budget limited demand gen campaign if it could at least pay for itself at 1x roas.

Well to no one who works in this industry's surprise, the campaign was shut off after blowing a cool $16k and generating 1 view through conversion. Oh darn.

But not all hope is lost, the google rep has a great idea! Instead of strategically building out new non-branded funnels and campaigns, we can instead just make an ai-max non-branded campaign! My client, without hesitation, greenlit the idea after I said this would no way work.

The campaign was stopped after a few days after blowing $12k and generating $1k.

But what's interesting to me is how many clients I've seen blindly trust people who at best have no idea what they are doing and at worst are maliciously taking advantage of them. This Google rep essentially took close to thirty grand from this company and I can promise you that they would sign up in a heartbeat for whatever slop this rep would throw at their way next, all for that promise of a golden puzzle piece that will 2x their historic performance overnight.

Do not trust the reps.

Microsoft Ads How to target specific ages in Microsoft/Bing Ads

Hey all,

It's been a while since I've done age targeting in Bing ads and was wondering how could I just target demographics 18 - 49 + Unknown in my Search campaigns. Preferably, I'd exclude 50+ but in Microsoft ads editor that Negative ages are reserved for PMAX only now I guess. I tried target & bid ages at the ad group level, but target and bid cannot be set for this campaign target setting so I'm a bit lost here. Any help would be appreciated!

Google Ads PMax performance improved after setting tROAS, but now the campaign is limited by target and underspending. Should I lower tROAS below breakeven?

Hey everyone! Following up on my previous post here: https://www.reddit.com/r/PPC/s/plz1ITwRYh

I wanted to share an update after 10 days of running my Performance Max campaign with a target ROAS (tROAS) of 1.8 and get some advice on what I should do next.

For context, here’s my current setup:

  • PMax daily budget: $80
  • Breakeven ROAS: 1.8
  • PMax bidding strategy: Maximize conversion value with a tROAS of 1.8
  • Other campaign: I’m also running a Standard Shopping campaign with manual CPC for testing products.
  • Products: I’m still running the same best-selling products in PMax and haven’t added any new products from Standard Shopping yet.

Before applying tROAS, my PMax campaign generated 33 conversions over 25 days, with a ROAS of around 1.6. At that point, I was using Maximize conversion value without a target ROAS, and Google’s recommended tROAS was around 1.6.

I then set tROAS to 1.8 because that’s my breakeven point.

Here’s what has happened after 10 days:

My ROAS has improved from around 1.2 at the beginning of this period to approximately 2.0 now. Since my breakeven ROAS is 1.8, this is a positive improvement, and the campaign appears to be performing better in terms of return.

However, there’s a new problem.

Before I applied tROAS, the campaign was spending almost the entire $80 daily budget and was marked as “Limited by budget.”

After applying tROAS, it is now spending less than half of my daily budget on some days, and Google Ads shows the campaign as “Limited by target.”

So, while ROAS has improved, the campaign is no longer spending enough of its budget to generate as much volume as before.

My questions are:

  1. Since my ROAS has improved to around 2.0 over the last 10 days, should I leave tROAS at 1.8 for longer, or is the “Limited by target” status a sign that I should make a change now?
  2. If I lower tROAS to encourage Google to spend more, I would have to go below my breakeven ROAS of 1.8. Would that be a mistake, even if the goal is to increase conversion volume?
  3. Is it better to maintain a tROAS of 1.8 and accept lower spending, or lower it slightly to generate more sales and hope the actual ROAS remains above breakeven?
  4. Given that I’ve only been running this tROAS setup for 10 days, could the campaign still be adjusting, or should I take action based on the current results?

Google Ads Google Ads - Landing Pages

I am usually working with Meta Ads, Google Ads is something which I do not touch a lot in this agency.

However I have been given a responsibility of looking at Google Ads for one of our clients.

It’s a search campaign, I have been told make a landing page.

Just wanted to know, the thought process from you all how do you guys get the content, the right keywords and the right placements.

Also, I know that the development of the landing page would be done by our developers but just in ase I would want to fast track work is there anyway I can make good landing pages? Any particular website?

If possible please suggest some good channels I can see for preparing good relevant landing pages.

Thank you!!

Google Ads Anyone Actually Making YouTube Ads Profitable in 2026?

I'm looking to connect with other advertisers who are currently running YouTube Ads with the goal of generating profitable conversions and a positive return on ad spend (ROAS/ROI).

I'm specifically interested in connecting with people who are either already achieving profitable conversions through YouTube Ads or are actively testing and optimizing campaigns toward that goal.

I'm aware that there's a fair amount of skepticism in PPC communities about using YouTube Ads for direct-response conversions rather than awareness or branding. I understand that perspective, but I'm not looking to debate whether YouTube Ads can or should be used for conversions.

I'm looking to exchange ideas with people who are actually doing it, or seriously attempting to make it work.

I'd be interested in discussing bidding strategies, targeting, traffic quality, conversion optimization, and what's currently working or not working as of October 2026.

If you're actively running YouTube campaigns with profitability and conversions as your primary objectives, I'd love to hear about your experience and connect.

Feel free to comment here or send me a DM. It would be great to exchange insights with others working toward the same goal.

Google Ads Need advice on scaling a Google Ads PMax campaign before BFCM

I run an outerwear brand with product prices ranging from $149 to $189. I started with a $50/day budget on a feed-only Performance Max campaign targeting all products.

Initially, my ROAS was around 1.8–1.9, which was below my break-even ROAS of 2.1. However, over the past two weeks, performance has improved significantly. I've been getting consistent daily sales, sometimes 2–3 orders per day, and my ROAS has increased to 2.9.

After noticing this consistent performance, I increased my budget by 20%. Since then, the number of orders has dropped over the past 7 days. My ROAS is still around the same level, but that's partly because one customer placed an order for four jackets, which helped maintain the average.

I've generated around 31 orders in total so far.

My main goal is to scale the campaign ahead of the upcoming Black Friday/Cyber Monday (BFCM) period and the peak shopping season. Ideally, I want to reach at least 5 orders per day, but at the current pace, I'm not sure how to scale without hurting performance.

I've also started running Meta ads for both cold audiences and retargeting, but I'm particularly looking for advice on Google Ads.

Here are my main questions:

Should I continue scaling my existing PMax campaign by increasing the budget gradually, or should I launch additional campaigns?

I'm currently using Maximize Conversions as my bidding strategy. With around 31 total orders, is it too early to switch to Target ROAS (tROAS)?

Would switching to tROAS help me scale more efficiently, or could it restrict volume at this stage?

How would you approach scaling this campaign to reach 5 orders per day before BFCM?

I'd appreciate advice from anyone who has successfully scaled a relatively new ecommerce account with a limited budget and a similar number of conversions. I'm particularly interested in practical strategies that won't destabilize the campaign's performance.

Google Ads Standard shopping Brand campaign

Hi, what is the best way to run a brand Standard Shopping campaign?

We have multiple "Category" Standard Shopping campaigns running on tROAS with a Bid Cap. We also neg out the brand.

When we try to create another Standard Shopping campaign for brand it seems like it doesn't want to serve to the brand. We're thinking it's doing this because we negged out the brand in the Category campaigns.

Other than Pmax, any thoughts on what we can do here?

Meta Ads Is a 40% contribution margin reasonable for a new e-commerce product business?

I'm launching my first physical product business in Australia (supplements) and trying to understand whether my margins are commercially viable.

After accounting for manufacturing costs, GST, shipping and fulfilment, I'm left with approximately 39–40% contribution margin before advertising, payment processing fees, overheads and company tax.

For context:

  • Retail price: $59.95 AUD
  • Customer pays $9.95 shipping
  • Manufacturing cost: $26.21 ex-GST per unit
  • Shipping and fulfilment: $14.12 inc-GST
  • Contribution per sale: approximately $24.50

I'm considering an initial order of 500 units.

My main concern is whether there's enough margin left to acquire customers profitably through Meta Ads while building a sustainable business.

Meta Ads [Help: Meta Business Portfolio has two admins. When logging in, they are duplicated and show “partial access”]

Hi everyone, I’m running into a strange issue with one of my client’s Meta Business Portfolios and hoping someone has seen it before.

The portfolio has two admins listed under People, and both are originally the admins but when I ( or the client ) log into their profile and visit the business portfolio, it duplicates their account under "People" and shows:

- Name & Surname ( Partial access ) which is the one we have control over

- Name & Surname ( Full access ) which we can't get a hold of

I attached an image below for reference

Whichever way we log in, Facebook keeps putting us into the partial access version, so I can’t manage assets, people, or settings properly.

I’ve already tried logging in with the normal Facebook profile login. I also tried Meta’s support chat, but I only got an AI assistant and couldn’t reach a human agent.

Has anyone dealt with this before?

Did you manage to fix it by removing the duplicate, or did you need to go through support or another route to get a real person?

Any tips or guidance that worked would be hugely appreciated.

Thank you all!

Meta Ads Meta’s product browsing default turns on for existing ads on October 28 - a boon or bane for advertisers?

Meta is adding product browsing (an Advantage+ creative option that shows catalog products under the ad and opens an in-app page first) to already-running Facebook and Instagram ads unless you opt out.

  • An August test across roughly 117,700 advertisers showed about 3% more conversions on average, according to Meta.
  • The first tap becomes cheaper, so click-through rate often rises while site visits can fall because some users browse and leave inside the app.
  • The account-level opt-out button in the notice only works before October 28; after that you turn it off ad by ad under Advantage+ Creative → Destination settings.
Example of Meta's product browsing inside Instagram app. The products show up upon tapping on the ad (which earlier would take you to the website).

Now here is the con: This inserts an extra step that can dilute intent for single-offer, lead-gen, or tightly branded campaigns.

Also, the timing is awkward: the switch lands 30 days before Black Friday, when many budgets scale.

So what is your take? Will this work or not for an advertiser?

Of course, you will get a way to switch it off in your account if you dont want it.

Meta Ads New Creative Testing in a New Ad set Versus Existing Ad Set

Hello,

I am facing a problem while making a decision.

I am running a lead gen campaign on meta.

I know creative fatigue has creeped in I made this ad set on 2nd Sept and it has generated leads.

Client has recent feedback the lead quality and lead flow has decreased.

What shall I do?

Put new ads in an existing ad set? Lead flow has hampered I have noticed.

My instinct says, since I am testing new creatives and angles I should do it in a new ad set. That also leads to my next question. Should I duplicate one of the previous winners of the current ad set and keep the rest new?

Conceptually I can’t figure out if:

One new Ad set with All new creatives

Or

One winner with All new creatives.

Does it affect by any chance? Does fair testing happen in the second hypothesis.

Please help!

Google Ads asset report shows far less data than campaign report. Why?

Hi everyone,

I’m running a tROAS App campaign (Google Ads, Philippines, game app). I noticed a big mismatch between my campaign report and my asset details report, even though both use the same date range (1-25 Oct 2026).

Campaign report:

Impressions: 29,394

Clicks: 1,895

Conversions: 467

Cost: ₹955

Asset details report (sum of all assets):

Impressions: 1,349 (~5%)

Clicks: 245 (~13%)

Conversions: 56 (~12%)

Cost: ₹93 (~10%)

So roughly 87-95% of the campaign’s data doesn’t show up in the asset report at all.

Other things I’m seeing:

Target ROAS is 80%, actual ROAS is about 61%

Campaign status: “Eligible (Limited), bidding strategy constrained”

Daily budget is ₹500, but I’m spending only ~₹38/day

23 of 26 assets are still in “Learning”, and most have under 10 impressions

Headlines and descriptions are at the max of 5 each, and new assets get almost no impressions

My questions:

How can I improve my campaign’s performance? Spend is far below budget and my ROAS is below target.

Is it normal for the asset report to show this little of the campaign’s data in App campaigns? Or could it be a filter or setup issue?

How reliable is the asset report for deciding which creatives to keep or replace?

Could the strict tROAS be limiting spend and starving the assets of data? Should I lower it?

What’s the best way to test new creatives in an App campaign (new ad group, duplicate campaign, or Experiments)?

Google Ads Should Google Be Required to Show Advertisers How It Calculates the Price of Every Click?

I've been running a small Canadian business since 2011, and something about Google Ads has been bothering me.

Recently, I created a separate Brand Google Ads campaign specifically targeting searches for my own company's name.

My reasoning was simple: People searching for my exact business name are already looking for my company. I would expect these searches to face relatively little competition and therefore cost significantly less than broader, highly competitive keywords.

Here's what happened when a potential customer typed in my brand name:

  • October 23: Google charged me $0.02 per click.
  • October 24: Google charged me $0.45 for a click on the same search term.

That's a 2,150% increase in the price of a click overnight.

Now, I understand how advertising auctions are supposed to work. Competition changes, bids fluctuate, and different auctions produce different prices.

But here's my question:

Who verifies Google's calculations?

Think about it.

Google operates the auction.

Google determines how ads are ranked.

Google establishes minimum auction thresholds.

Google calculates what advertisers pay.

Google collects the money.

And Google provides the reporting.

Yet advertisers can't independently verify exactly why a particular click costs $0.45 instead of $0.02.

Google doesn't disclose the auction-time calculations or the specific minimum thresholds that determine individual charges.

I'm not accusing Google of fraud or saying my $0.45 click was necessarily overpriced.

I'm questioning whether any company should have this much control over a financial transaction without providing an independently auditable explanation of the charges.

I'm not suggesting Google should publish its entire proprietary algorithm or reveal competitors' confidential bids.

But shouldn't businesses have the right to understand and verify the calculations behind the money they're being charged?

Imagine any other industry where a company determined your price through a secret calculation, billed you, and then told you to trust that everything was calculated correctly.

Would that be acceptable?

For small businesses spending hundreds or thousands of dollars monthly on advertising, I think this is a legitimate question.

Should governments require greater transparency and independent auditing of digital advertising auctions?

I'd genuinely like to hear from other business owners and Google Ads professionals.

Have you noticed similar fluctuations in the cost of clicks on your own brand name? And do you believe Google's current level of pricing transparency is sufficient?

Google Ads Campaign drop PMax FO

Hi guys,

I recently had an amazing campaign that did 3-4 ROAS average with $132 spend per day with 400 items, 1200 SKUs (3 sizes per item).

As per suggestion, I tried fine tuning my campaign by marking items that sold 0-1 quantity total in the lifecycle of this campaign (6 months) in merchant center, and excluding them from my FO-PMax listing group. I then created a separate campaign solely for those items at $15/day.

A week went by and I noticed insane poor results from both campaign. I didn’t expect much from the new campaign and was willing to burn the money thru the learning phase, however, the main fo PMax campaign that did 3-4 ROAS, dropped to .5-1.5 ROAS and was performing terribly. It never went that low. I waited a week and paused the new campaign and reverted everything back to normal. I used to average 180-220 clicks per day. After I changed this 2 days ago, I only recieved 39 clicks and 19 clicks so far (7:49 pm as I write this). Is this something that will normalize and is happening because of the changes, or did I mess my most important campaign up?… sighs

Google Ads Entire G-Ads account stopped serving overnight (0 impressions, all campaigns “Eligible”)

Hi all, hoping someone here has run into this, because I can't get a straight answer from Google.

Context: Medium-sized Australian e-commerce business, roughly mid five figures a month on Google. The account runs Standard Shopping, Search and Demand Gen. Everything was performing normally and steadily until Oct 22, when it dropped off a cliff.

What happened:

  • Impressions dropped sharply on Oct 22 and hit 0 on Oct 23. Every campaign dropped to essentially 0 impressions and $0 spend at the same time. Not one campaign, all of them.
  • It's now been several days. Spend is still $0 and our prepaid credit balance hasn't moved, so the ads genuinely aren't serving. It isn't a reporting lag.

What I've checked:

  • All campaigns, ad groups, ads and keywords show Enabled / Eligible. No disapprovals and no policy warnings.
  • Billing is fine: prepaid with plenty of credit and no payment issues.
  • Merchant Center is in good standing with no disapproved products (support confirmed this too).
  • Change history shows nothing that explains it. No bid, budget, targeting or schedule changes around that time.
  • Campaign diagnostics show nothing.
  • No emails or notifications about a review, suspension or verification.

The weird part:

  • A phrase-match keyword is Enabled, Eligible, with a Quality Score of 7/10 and Above average ad relevance.
  • Ad Preview and Diagnosis, using that exact term, returns: "No diagnoses results were found because no keywords in your account matched your query."
  • The keyword's own status popup says: "An ad isn't showing now. We don't know why your ads aren't showing for this search."
  • The in-platform AI advisor told me the campaigns were in an internal "Paused" state, but there's nothing in change history.

Support so far:

I called and got a follow-up email saying the account is "fully active and in good standing" and that the missing data is just conversion reporting taking 24 to 48 hours to sync. But the issue isn't conversions, it's zero impressions and zero spend across everything. I've replied asking for escalation, with no response yet.

Questions:

  1. Has anyone had an account silently stop serving like this with everything showing Eligible? What was the cause?
  2. Is there a better way to get escalated past front-line support? (We don't have a Google rep or agency.)
  3. Is there anything I've missed that could cause an account-wide stop with no visible warning?

Any help appreciated.

Meta Ads Facebook Ads vs Google PPC for Kitchen and Bathroom Remodeling

Hey guys, I plan on starting to run Facebook and Google ads for a remodeling client, but I have heard that this niche is extremely complicated.

I have worked closely with the company and redid their website and landing page. I plan on focusing on bathroom remodeling specifically for the beginning and would love if anyone could take a look at the landing page I built and give me some feedback: https://www.vetromani.com/lp/bathroom-remodeling/

The business is located in South Florida which is very competitive so I was wondering what I should be expecting in terms of CPL. I have also set up their CRM and pipeline so hopefully we can manage the leads efficiently.

If anyone has ran meta ads for this niche specifically, what style ads/angles have you found work the best? Statics or video? Before & After? Testimonial? Educational? etc?

Also how does Meta ads compare to Google PPC ads in this niche?

I am fairly new to this so I am still learning a lot. If anyone could give me some advice it would be greatly appreciated, and I would love to connect!

Google Ads €0.04 per mobile game pre-registration on Google Ads. Is this actually good, or am I missing something?

Hey everyone!

I’m an indie developer getting ready to launch my first mobile PvP tactics game on November 1st.

I’ve been experimenting with Google Ads pre-registration campaigns on a really small budget (€5/day per campaign), and the results have honestly surprised me.

Today I’m seeing a cost per pre-registration of around €0.04, which seems incredibly low compared to most mobile game acquisition numbers I’ve seen.

I’m attaching screenshots showing the actual spend, impressions, clicks, conversions, and cost per conversion.

For some context:

  • I’m running two Google App campaigns.
  • One targets Italy, Spain, France, Germany, the US, and the UK.
  • The other targets Brazil, Mexico, and the Philippines.
  • Most conversions are coming from Google’s Display network.
  • The game is free-to-play and launches on Android and iOS on November 1st.

Obviously, these are pre-registrations, not actual installs, and I know the real test will be how many users install the game, play multiple matches, and stick around after launch.

Still, I’m pretty surprised by the numbers, especially considering how little I’ve spent.

For those of you who have run mobile game campaigns:

Have you seen similar costs for pre-registrations? And did those low acquisition costs translate into actual players after launch?

I’m particularly curious whether Google Ads tends to become significantly more expensive when switching from pre-registrations to install campaigns.

Would love to hear your experiences!

Discussion We moved a trial form into the header. Submissions went from 4.60% to 5.87%.

We ran this test for an enterprise security SaaS client.

The trial form sat below the fold, with other calls to action competing for attention. We moved the form into the header and reduced the competing CTAs. The product information stayed.

The test ran for 20 days:

  • Original: 294 submissions from 6,398 users, or 4.60%.
  • Variation: 367 submissions from 6,250 users, or 5.87%.

That's a 27.8% relative increase in form submissions. We changed both things in the same variation, so I can't separate the effect of form placement from the CTA changes.

These results measure submissions. They don't establish an improvement in lead quality.

Have you had a form test win on submissions and lose once you checked lead quality?
