I think that might have been the worst second half of a season I have seen in professional sports. I don't want to dog on the guys, but wow. I think something happened in the locker room that caused the team to implode so completely.

Once more unto the breach dear friends! Once more!
Orange County SC and San Antonio FC face off in a high-stakes 2026 USL Championship regular season finale where the winner guarantees themselves a spot in the postseason. A victory directly secures a playoff berth for either side, while a draw or loss leaves their postseason fate dependent on the final results of matches involving Phoenix and Oakland.

This season was a disappointment. From the highs of the first half, to the absolute lows of the second half. Seeing OC 24th in power rankings, only above Monterey Bay, kind of tells the story of how poorly they're playing.
Someone mentioned to me that maybe we're spoiled. and I don't think it's spoiled really, but coming into august with 3 losses, I think we all had high expectations for the back half of the season to continue that form of win/draw almost every game, and lose a few here and there. not this absolute implosion.
Firing Stone was absolutely not the answer, and the way they did it was even worse. Him and his wife had a kid on the way and I'm pretty sure she gave birth around the time the firing happened. right before or right after, I'm not sure. Kind of fucked up. Just put the guy on paternity leave and don't renew his contract, it was over at the end of this year anyway.
Looking back i think a lot of us were kind .. not ignoring .. but minimizing the gaps in our team's gameplan, and maybe saying "hey if it works, it's not stupid." I don't know if all the other teams just didn't want to win anything in the first half or we got exceedingly lucky for ~15 games before the wheels came off.
This isn't doom and gloom or anything. Teams have bad years and this our turn, I guess. The reality is the finances of our team don't allow for big signings or mid-season contracts to fix massive holes. OC runs one of the lowest player payrolls in the league because cost of living is so high here, and it's always going to be that way. I have heard some interesting rumors tho. Don't know if it's good or bad yet.

Always trying to find more a way to find more listeners for the SoccerCast, but I'm not a professional at this and I have a real job.
So what do you think we're doing wrong? What are we doing right? What can we do better?

Two games remain and Orange County SC is clinging to the playoff cut-off with everything they have. With some luck, the other teams around OC in the standings also didn't have good results.
With Phoenix Rising coming up and San Antonio the following week, can the boys in Orange dig deep and get this season across the line after a disappointing late summer collapse?

Not sure who made this but I think it needs more representation for OCSC and OC Sport in general. zoom into OC, then select it and pick your teams from the available leagues.

I mean, it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be, considering how bad we've been and how good they've been since they lost at The Champ in August.
My biggest takeaway while watching was "man, these guys look like they've never played together before."

The lads on the show had some strong feelings about Danny Stone leaving Orange County SC.
Are they right? Are they wrong? Will interim manager Dekel Keinan prove them wrong?
Larry says he'll eat a hat if he's wrong on this.

Nathan provides his thoughts on Orange County’s Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day in Lexington. OC’s offensive impotence continued Saturday night, while their inability to defend set pieces took this game from a humbling loss to a downright embarrassing performance. Still… there’s something to play for next week.

Does anybody more in-the-know than me have any idea how much parking fees are going to be next season?
I know the city voted to start charging for parking, and it's...kind of a factor when it comes to season ticket budgeting.
