Rant Missed a Midterm

i'm just ranting because i'm genuinely so upset and distraught right now. i had a midterm for a chemistry elective today (the 26th) that i'd been studying for for TWO WEEKS. i have ADHD, so i already have to work extra hard to keep up with this kind of stuff, and this is a retake after i failed the class the first time around. i had an 80% going into this exam. the midterm is 25% and the final is 30%.

and i fucking missed it because, for whatever reason, i was 10000% convinced my professor said it was on the 28th. i was literally studying for it TODAY and planning to keep studying tomorrow, completely unaware like some stupid imbecile i'd already missed the damn thing. missing it dropped my grade to a 53%.

my transcript is such a mess im in tears. i really thought this semester i will fix things, clear whatever fucked up grades I have, withdraw less, fix my gpa. i have my physics common on nov2 and i feel like i wasted my fucking time studying for this chemistry class in place of physics of this is how it was gonna go. i literally already have my advisor "suggesting" everytime I see him that I should think about doing a fucking BA degree instead cuz it might be "easier due to my track record". literally fuck you. i am really working so hard right now i hate everything

Advice Any professor recommendations for these classes

Honestly doesn't matter which classes are honors but preferably if they're honors theyre very good professors

Trying to go for the easiest + best teaching ones + less workload. easiest/best teaching > less workload.

Easiest CS classes

Hi I have to take a CS class as an elective next semester but I don’t have a background in computing at all, and my options are kinda limited. Ik everyone says CS 100 is kinda hard and has commons so, what else do you guys recommend? these are my options: CS 104, CS 101 (the teacher for spring (Rutkowski) has horrible reviews), CS 106 or DS 110. Anything you can tell me about the class, the professors and how the exams are would be helpful

Curriculum and Degreeworks Discrepancy

I’m a math major and I see that on the curriculum there’s an extra choice of computational elective (Math440) available but degreeworks only shows Math391 and Math448 as requirements. As I understand Degreeworks isn’t 100% accurate and I should follow the curriculum but who could I contact in order to perhaps fix or clarify this?

How is biochem with Bhavani Balasubramanian? I had friends who took her and it was a train wreak but looking at her reviews on rate my professor it's not impossible. I'm going to take her no matter what because I have to but, i need some tips on how to get a good grade in this class because I have no friends taking it so i'll be all on my own.

Paid Tutors

Are there any private tutors on NJIT? I'm well aware of the tutors on campus like the Math Tutoring Center, Chem Tutoring Center, Physics Tutoring Center, and Norma J. Learning Center. However, I'm considering it may be better for me to get personal tutoring. Even though at times, the tutoring centers can provide that if there aren't many people around, it's not guaranteed. I know some tutoring centers allow for appointments to be made. I haven't done the greatest in my classes so far so I'm trying to make a turn around. One of my professors only allow you to come to office hours for specific questions after seeing your work, not if you're having trouble with a concept like sequences in Calc 2. So, the purpose of this would be to get one-on-one tutoring for my classes, which would be more beneficial to me.

Admissions Psych & Communications Transfer Student

I’m currently at Montclair double majoring in psych and communications. Im considering transferring to NJIT bc I want to be somewhere more urban and I feel like it’s hard to get anywhere off campus without a car.

Does anyone have any experience transferring or in the psych or comm major in general?

Would love some advice on this

So rn I have 5 classes left of my IT degree. Thats great and all but two of those classes are 490 and 491. Was told by multiple profs not to take those two at the same time so I was thinking of taking 491 in the summer. Im pretty sure I can still graduate in the spring like that. Technically, I can take 491 in the spring and 490 in the summer but not sure if taking 491 without taking 490 is great thing to do. Im going to talk with my advisor about this but I would really appreciate some advice, especially from those who have taken 490 and 491. Thanks!

Anyone know if the Cisco track is being offered during the upcoming spring semester? Thinking about getting IT 491 done with if it is being offered.

Facing a dilemma with the upcoming last two semesters

So I can wrap up the rest of my degree by next fall semester but the overthinker in me wants to do it with as minimal selfdeletion.exe feelings as possible and have been looking up and down the forum. And to be completely honestly, online course maxxing; my current spring 2027 plan has 3 of them, including IT 202, along with in person 420. I want an online course wherever I can.

SO,

My classes left to graduate are IT 202, 420, 490, and 491 left and 4 electives, so for me that's 12 credits spring and then fall. (God forbid no paid internship but if fate takes hold then maybe 490 in summer.) After making my plan and reading past subreddit posts and whatnot, I want to know the current out look on taking 490 and 491 together? I know the general past consensus was not advised but the way it looks it may be a potential route. My first question is, would it be feasible given lower level electives to finish it off if I were to take 490 and 491 together?

OR,

Should I take 490 (Kehoe) in place of 420 (Farley) along with 202, and my 2 electives? Then Fall 27 would 420, 491, 2 lower electives.

I really just don't want to shoot myself in the foot here in terms of future planning and have been mulling it over all day. I don't see myself dropping my planned online courses as 202 is a prereq to other elecs and I know for a fact that online courses are my jam and I don't fumble those, so would it be crazy to take the group focused 490 instead?

I know I shouldn't hold my breathe for everything to be online like the capstone, but again, don't want to shoot myself in the foot my last semester by accidentally just running with 490 and 491 and two electives. However, I am completely willing to take 490 in the summer because I know it was offered online by Matt Toegel and I prefer online wherever I can.

You know me chat, keep it real, what we saying?

Math 337: Linear Algebra Fall 2026 Question Paper

Did anyone get back their Linear Algebra Common Exam I Question Paper? I didn't get back the question paper I submitted along with the answer sheet when I got back the graded answer sheet.

And if someone has the solutions, if their prof uploaded them to Canvas or something, it'll be even more helpful.
