Since there are so many of you asking the same things about the impending storm, let’s gather some pertinent info for you. First thing you need to know, it’s going to rain. A lot. At the risk of being crude, it’ll be wetter than a Kardashian at an NBA game. It’ll be windy, but barring an unexpected strengthening, it won’t be hurricane level winds.
A large chunk of Horry and Georgetown counties are developed wetlands, meaning it floods fairly easily. Without getting into the science of it all, this storm has the potential to dump a lot of rain that we normally wouldn’t get from a storm coming in directly from the Atlantic. Know your flood zones and travel routes and plan accordingly. Contact whoever you’re renting from (air bnb owners, hotels, etc) and ask about how flooding has impacted where you’re staying.
If you feel like the locals aren’t that concerned about the storm and aren’t taking your questions seriously, remember that most of us have been dealing with this kind of weather for years or decades. It would be like going to Buffalo and asking if you should cancel going to that Bills game because of snow. The best thing you can do is educate yourself about what to expect. I’ve provided links below. If you don’t feel comfortable dealing with the storm, by all means reschedule your plans. It’s better to be calm and safe at home than to be in an unfamiliar place and scared. Local emergency services will have their hands full as it is, they don’t need uninformed visitors getting into situations that can be easily avoided.
Know where dry ground can be found. Stay indoors until the storm passes, and for the love of all that’s holy, stay off the roads until you know your travel route is clear for traffic.

We are quickly coming to the end of the season and in this last year the sub has grown significantly.
Normally we have automod which puts posts and comments in a queue for approval if your account is still new but we are struggling to keep up with this.
I have nerfed automod much more recently as an expirement to see if we can rely more on reports rather than manually approving so if you see something that violates the rules report it.
That being said, disagreeing with a political posts and reporting it will eventually get you ban. Those are allowed. The good news is I don't care which side you are on because they are both awful in my opinion and I hate the modern censorship that happens on the internet because it isolates people into groups. So feel free to argue all you want but If your argument is "fuck you x sucks" don't be surprised if it's removed... We still have to follow reddits rules or the sub will be ban.
Lastly if anyone is interested in being a mod I'll consider adding people. Feel free to post below and whether you have experience or not.

I want to get into working out here, I would prefer to have a gym in the Carolina Forest/ Coastal Carolina area. I would also like to have a gym a little bit more upscale than Planet Fitness (free weight bench and squat). Any recommendations?

Hey everyone! I'll be in Myrtle Beach on Halloween night. Are there any fun events going down for 25+? What do the locals like to do? Thanks in advance for any assistance.

I have lived here for quite some time at this point and off and on I have tried to find a baked potato pizza at literally any restaurant. I’ve tried googling it. I’ve talked about it. I have never asked Reddit. Does anyone know of a place that does a baked potato pizza similar to the one in the photo above? Even if it’s a drive

I was trying to merge into the left lane and this legislator sped their vehicle up, almost hitting mine in the process, to not let me in. Then when i snapped this photo the proceeded to follow me until I was almost home. Odd behavior.

I've been looking to transition from my current retail sales role into a field more aligned with my BS in Accounting, and CNB, being a local bank, actually has a local footprint for their HQ, representing better opportunity than most other places in Myrtle.
However, I see that their Career page just suggests going into a local branch for an application. Is that still correct?
Also, would you recommend the bank? I'm trying to get away from sales, and I know some larger national banks are extremely predatory when it comes to their practices and metrics, but pay is usually better to make up for it. I'm okay taking a small pay cut to get into the bank, but not if growth potential and quality of life are poor.
Anyway, I'd love any input anyone has about CNB or the local banking atmosphere at large. I'm tired of being stuck where I am and would love some real growth opportunities.

I’m heading down to Seaglass Cottages at the end of the week. I know they are pet friendly and I have seen plenty of dogs but I was wondering if they did any meet ups or playgroups in the community itself. Thanks!

Hello!
My partner and I will be traveling to Myrtle beach Nov 14-15. We are in need of a photographer for a couples shoot on the beach, preferably during sunset.
Cinematic photography is preferred but not required!
Budget: no more than $200 as the shoot shouldn’t take longer than an hour!

Hi all - I hope this is OK to post here (I am the internal recruiter at Floors Galore)
Original job posting on our careers page: https://floorsgalore.careers-page.com/jobs/2da35d44-e02a-4a65-b8e8-1bf55fda111f
Floors Galore is a flooring company with locations in Jacksonville, NC and Myrtle Beach, SC. We serve homeowners, builders, multifamily and property management groups, commercial contractors, and epoxy and concrete coatings customers across North and South Carolina. Under new ownership since 2024, we are growing across the region organically and are actively pursuing acquisitions. We are investing in great people and better systems to get there.
We're hiring a relationship-driven sales professional to build our builder business in the Grand Strand market. You'll own the full cycle: prospecting, bidding, closing, and managing accounts with production, semi-custom, and custom homebuilders. This is a build-it role with a lot of autonomy and direct access to ownership. You'll report to our Regional Sales Manager.
We have a strong preference for candidates who bring existing relationships with builders and their purchasing teams in the Myrtle Beach and Horry County area.
What you will do
Your first year: what we expect, and what we commit to
We won't hire you and leave you to figure it out alone.
3 months: ramp. You know our product lines, pricing, and bid process, and you can produce a takeoff in RFMS Measure. You have met the purchasing and construction teams at the leading production and semi-custom builders in the Grand Strand, and you have 15+ target builders tracked in the CRM. Your first bids are out and your first jobs are scheduled. We commit to: a structured onboarding with our Regional Sales Manager, operations, and install leads; training on our estimating, CRM, and pricing; sample boards and showroom support for builder selections; weekly 1:1s with your manager; and ownership joining key builder meetings.
6 months: contribution. At least two builders are awarding you work on active communities or program pricing. Your bid win rate is tracked and improving. Selections are running smoothly through the showroom, and installs are landing on schedule so builders keep calling. We commit to: a committed turnaround on takeoffs and bids from our estimating team, install capacity planned around builder schedules, and a six-month review of goals and compensation.
12 months: results. $1 million in annualized builder revenue at target margin, from at least three active builder accounts with repeat work. A pipeline and plan for year two. We commit to: an annual review against written goals, and a growth path to senior or lead roles as the Grand Strand business grows.
Job Descriptions are fluid and may not fully represent the entire role. We encourage candidates who are not 100% matches to reach out and bring your true self. Floors Galore is an equal opportunity employer.
Work Authorization Requirement: Applicants must be legally authorized to work full-time in the U.S. without restriction. We do not provide visa sponsorship now or in the future (including transitions from F-1 OPT/STEM, J-1, or TN visas).
By submitting your application, you certify that you possess the permanent right to work in the United States without the requirement of future company-sponsored visa intervention.

I’ve got a vacation coming up to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Does anyone know of any Pokémon TCG Card shops down there that sell singles and/or graded cards? All I see in Maps is sports card places. Any good place near Myrtle beach would help too.

It’s easy to find local brew places but not everyone has canned ones to take home. What are the best local non IPA ones?
Thanks for any suggestions.
I am near the 2nd Ave Pier but I will be going out to multiple places. I am already heading to Duplin Winery to pick up some requested stuff for friends.
