I first noticed this a while ago with Stutterfly, they've been inactive since the early 00's as far as I know so I was totally shocked when my spotify homepage showed a new release notif from them only for me to instantly see the blatantly AI artwork and an entire album of Suno AI slop.

Making this post now because lately Lovehatehero has been absolutely SLAMMED with these ai slop uploads, I saw some for Picture Me Broken and Shoot the Girl first as well. It's getting to the point where I don't even pay attention to new release notifs because 9/10 are random AI slop from an inactive band lately.

Idk why I'm making this post since there's really not much we can do about it, but it's fucking bullshit that this is allowed and just keep your eye out if you see a new release from an old band, it's probably gonna be AI slop.

I’m not usually into the more chaotic, hardcore-influenced side of metalcore, but 156/Silence has been hitting lately. From a Distance is top 5 for me.

I normally listen to Landmvrks, Bleed from Within, Sylosis, The Acacia Strain, Spiritbox, Phinehas, Fit for an Autopsy, Malevolence.

I also got into Guilt Trip. I think that may have been influenced from Landmvrks.

Anyone else living in the US notice that only the instrumental version of this album is available to stream on Apple Music and Spotify now? What happened? The original seems to be region-locked now.

Been seeing a resurgence of posts/comments mentioning Himsa - always been a Hail Horror kind of guy, although I cut my teeth on Courting Tragedy and Disaster

How many other people remember this band, or wish they did?

I want to say they had a tour with The Acacia Strain?

I think the title says it all. That being said, I’m gonna yap anyway. The riffs and the breakdowns are tasty as fuck. That opening riff on Aspirations is heavy as fuck, and the breakdown on In Memoria Di is one of my favorites. The choruses are absolutely massive, In Memoria Di again being a personal favorite (you might not have realized this but I really like that song). You can hear the sheer potential that these guys had right from the get go. I still think the Mortal Coil is their best work and it fully realized that potential but I love the rawness and aggression Dichotomy had and I don’t think any of their other works quite captured that. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, Polaris is seemingly incapable of putting out bad music, but I really think it should be appreciated more how unique Dichotomy is in their discography.
