It’s the biggest weakness with digital play imo, I just had to watch while someone blinked their green white sphinx for twenty minutes indefinitely gaining one life at a time, and it’s just silly they haven’t found some method or at least shortened the timer in casual for it, really big feels bad that in this game happens to be a big part of what the game intends to be shortcuted.

Copied this from another deck I found on here but can't find it now. That was for Bo3 so changed up a bit for just doing Bo1. 4x Dancing from Dark to Dawn was the biggest removal from the original deck. Either I was already at my win condition or never get far enough to cast it. That's 4 spots to add some 2/3 drops which keeps the tempo better.

It's fun and not just another lifegain/landfall. Definitely not meta. I may be able to grind it up to diamond.

It's extremely poor matchups against control or counter decks.

There's a few decks that just dip out when they see ooze or the hydra. Sure they're threats but are really decoys.

I'll take suggestions on changes but I'm trying to grind for wildcards.

Strategy: You've got bigger creatures than them. Just go through.

Broke into magic for the first time in my life the past month (only MTG arena) and have been having an absolute blast!

Wanted to show this Jump In deck that has been absolutely crushing it! I think I'm something like 15-2 with it right now. The couple losses mainly having been from some terrible hand/draw luck.

I want to keep getting cards from new Jump In packs but man getting the daily win gold and xp is sooo easy with this!

Anyways just wanted to share the deck list (it is "Witherbloom" + "Squirrels") incase someone wanted to know a strong Jump In combo that has been working beautifully!

Hey, I am new to MTG as a whole (~3 months of playing) and figured I would give Arena a shot to save my wallet some troubles.

I am trying out the Starter Deck Duels, under the understanding I would be playing against Starter Decks since that's all I have. However, I have gotten wiped out by Turn 3 three games in a row now by decks (and Turn 5 once) I know aren't Starter decks. Am I getting queued up with normal players or is there some exploit that is allowing people to have normal decks?

I won my first 2 games against people who were using one of the starter decks. All I could really find on Google was a list of the starter decks and their contents, and from that alone I know these people are running custom decks.

It's just frustrating because I want to play the game and not be queuing up and losing immediately to some dude who has a super good deck while I am stuck with a very basic deck (yes, i get this is normally the point, however i thought this mode filtered normal decks out). Thanks!

Add On: I am so highly confused as to why I am being down voted for simply saying what is going on. Seriously weird gate keeping behavior in this sub. All i wanted to know is if anyone else has had this issue, and low and behold, others have.

I’m typically a mono white lifegain, and came across 3 different players playing sinilar decks which seemed like a mix of blue or blue/white. Almost every spell or creature I played was countered or board wiped. Felt very frustrating not being able to play anything. Are there decks that are able to compete against these decks?

I exclusively play Brawl and while EDHrec is useful for getting ideas, it's far from perfect as a lot of cards aren't available in Arena and lists aren't tailored for 1v1.

It's a low budget deck that I built with elf cards and it friggin worked! I'm genuinely so proud of myself and wanted to show off my achievement 😄

This time around I went with the simplest idea in mind - draft big idiots and then ramp into them. 4x Greenhouse Propagators ensured my Titanbones went bigger than 15 power whenever he landed and 3x Konstrari Improviser made sure there was plenty of tokens to fuel Pia and Aerid. On top of that, Crusher being uncommon is criminal and Kraken is literally broken. Do you draft Gruul often?

I was preparing a brew for Planar Standard, a Jeskai deck, so I decided I could use a copy or two of Mystic Monastery. Jeskai Prowess is something I played back during Khans, and I knew that Khans of Tarkir was added to MTG Arena, so I decided... might as well use the original art that I fell in love with.

I went to find the old version, and behold, I found this really ugly version(In the screenshot) that I swore was not the original art.

I look up the card, and I am correct: the original art is just not in MTG Arena. This has to be a bug, or is the original art somewhere else?

Time for control to get a land that stax's creature decks.

Lifegain is one of the most appealing strategies for new MTG Arena players. It's easy to understand, satisfying to play, and often one of the first decks players want to upgrade.

After playing it, I wasn't particularly impressed, in a small sample size. What would you recommend?

For newer players who love Lifegain, is Abzan actually worth crafting, or are there better ways to spend those precious wildcards?

Star Trek is the first set I’ve ever felt completely turned off from. A bunch of the previous UB sets were dumb, like TMNT, but I kinda of ended up just being neutral on it. I used to watch a bunch of Star Trek and I still feel like this set is super weird, and crazy out of place.

As a result, I’ve disconnected from the discourse surrounding the actual cards and I realize we’re getting close to release and I have no idea how the set is going to impact the older formats I play.

Has anyone seen any new cards that are going to make a big splash in Historic, Modern or Legacy?

Hi guys. I never had a deck that I played probably get rotated out. My main and only deck for quests / standard ladder is mono white auras. It was my first deck and I still love it for it's simplicity and quick matches.

My question is - is there usually a dirt cheap but strong deck in every expansion or rotation cycle? Thanks and have fun playing.

Do we think there is a point where WotC would actually look at a set and go "wow ... we need to stop doing that" .... and do we think Trek is going to be that set?

It almost seems like a perfect storm to me ... because I think the UB sets typically appeal to a certain crowd that is okay with some change to their "Magic experience" as long as it's fun/different - people who don't mind their favorite IP being "bastardized" a bit for capital gains as long as they can play with their favorites. But I've always considered Trekkies to be the sort of people who are adversely opposed to change ... and don't want their IP bastardized for any purpose.

When it comes to what kind of decks I normally play I like having tons of synergy, love playing aggro, but despise midrange decks. I'm also very interested in combo decks since I've never made one or played one before (this is just a little preference but it would be cool if there were multiple combos in the deck)

Honestly I just wanna see some of the meta decks/archetypes in the format before I start building my own deck at the moment. Any recommendations or tips would be helpful!

For maybe the last week, I can't get a hand with more than 2 lands. Maybe 75-80% of every game I play I'm stuck at two lands. I play 25 lands as my minimum for any given deck, generally 26-27 lands for most decks, I only ever play less if I'm trying a deck I found online. This has been fine for years. But now? I literally can't open a hand with 3+ lands. And I've noticed quite a few games today with exactly 1 land in my opener and 1 land in my first mulligan. Am I going to get to play a game of magic, again? Why is no one else posting this? This is so freakin' wild. No one else is getting this behavior?

Edit: I play ranked standard, 60 card decks, etc.

I know 4 mana is a lot, but I can't stop thinking about T1 Dork, T2 Hydra, T3 this and hopefully hitting a fetchland to swing in for 16 trample.

And the fact that it is only 1 red pip means that there don't even need to be any other red cards, you can just splash this and throw in the shock lands and a couple fast lands and you're good.

I'm not a landfall player, so maybe I am heavily overrating this, but is there nothing here?
