SDS has a large library of Topps Flashback card art, over 3,400. The cards are from specific years and fall into the All-Star, Breakout, Veteran, Standout, Rookie, Second Half, and Last Ride series. No stats are attached to any of them that I can see. They have had this bank as far back as 2022 to my knowledge.
This could be a bank for future games. Only about 4.5% of this art appears in DD this year, so there’s a lot players haven’t seen yet. Some players are redundant.
Mike Trout is a good example, he has over ten cards in the library, seven of them All-Star. You wouldn’t want to release all ten at once, but what if SDS released 3 or 4 Flashbacks per year, each with different attributes and splits?
If SDS released even 15% to 20% of the library each year, players would get a lot of variety per player, and the Topps art would finally get the spotlight it deserves. It could also make standard packs more interesting again. Imagine bronze, silver, and gold Flashback cards regularly mixed into packs, like a second live series running alongside the main one.
What would you want to see them do with these? I personally would like to see a removal of attributes to 125 and go back to 99, and then add a ton more cards and see these replace cards like award series, summer series, etc. This library has over 900 All-Star cards alone, with only 50 in DD this year!

Pretty happy with this and my full White Sox P5 Team. Just waiting on my Finest Miguel. Hate that SDS just basically decided Team Captains are no longer a thing. I used my White Sox TC all year last year.

Does anyone else struggle with specifically fastballs when using pinpoint (online ranked)? Every other pitch I can consistently get perfect release with but for some reason I almost never do with fastballs. Using a wired gamesir pro on Xbox. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong.

In case people don't know, especially post spring training and trade deadline when a lot of guys are out od options and teams need to make decision... you can build a very solid roster from this. Got several 80+ overall A and B potential guys between 27-30 with several years before free agency through that.

I have 19 Deluxe and 7 Premier Choice packs saved up currently. When does the Finest Series drop? It’s my favourite of the year and I want the entire series ASAP.

I play on PS5 and I’m very low ranked. I play a decent amount of online but I feel like no matter what I can’t see pitches or do better hitting. Are there any tips anyone can give me to improve on my hitting?

I know its not normal and know a majority of people find it boring, but I do it for fairness sake. I usually watch while I do other stuff, but will come back to check the score. I like it, because it feels like its not just random like when you sim a game, it feels more realistic. And it makes for amazing storylines for an alternate reality, since its out of your hands. (I call it "real fantasy baseball" since I use the real rosters, but don't block crazy trades/free agency acquisitions, so it can get wacky lol)
For example, my Guardians lost the 2027 ALCS to the Mariners, who are playing the Braves. The Mariners lost the World Series last year to the Brewers in 6 games. When I simmed the WS 5 times (just to see the results), the Mariners won everytime (in this reality, the Mariners not only landed Bichette, but Caminero as well lol). I felt bad for the Braves a little bit (lost the 2025 NLCS to the Dodgers and the 2026 NLCS to the Brewers) so I decided to watch every game of the World Series. Well, I just watched game 6, Mariners at home up 3-2 in the series after some comebacks in game 2 and game 5. Up 2-1 going into the 8th and they blew the lead. Now a game 7 that I am eager to watch to see if for the second time in MLB (alternate) history an AL West team loses its first 2 World Series back-to-back, and in an eerily similar fashion lol
Well, I will watch it muted while I watch the real World Series on another TV lol

Tried the googles and didn't find a quality result. Basically, looking to get a list of players from the Rockies organization before I buy the game. I live in Spokane, WA, home of their high-A affiliate, and would want to start a franchise with players I know and watch. Specifically looking for Jack O'Dowd (future legend) and players like Robert Calaz from the 2026 squad. Thanks!

I can't seem to get out of the mode of starting with the Toronto Blue Jays and LA Dodgers. Help?

I was a fan of Captains at inception. Then they got a little too overzealous (when they had to make a new captain every "set"), then they got a little too crazy ("High Durability" Captain), and then they were just straight up abused ("Switch Hitting" Captain). Now they've been scaled back to the point of being negligible at best, and a liability at other times.
With the Postseason programs, I'm sure we all have been carrying a lot of Brewers hitters or Dodgers pitchers, etc etc for a few games at a time. I could have a full lineup 1-9 of Brewers hitters, but don't get a bonus unless I plug in 88 Ted Simmons instead of one of my growing number of red-diamonds. Then we all are faced with doing the mental gymnastics of if bumping a hitting stat from an already astronomical 115 to 121 is worth having a 90con 50pow bat at the end of the lineup.
If SDS doesn't have the bandwith to either provide updated captains, or a way to increase the current captains' attributes, let's just pivot to the "Chemistries" model that other sports games like to use. Let's talk through some of the features you need to see in this model, or would like to see. If SDS hands you the reins tomorrow to develop a Chemistries Model...
Let me know your thoughts. If SDS is going to let the Captains model just rot in the dirt, I think something like this is what they should pivot to, but what are some pitfalls or rostering strategies you would like to see implemented if something like this rolls around? I think this would help make theme teams more fun (especially if chemistries extended to programs cards like boosting a lineup of "ASG" cards or "Pipeline" cards), but could be abused if teams get oversaturated again with a ton of 99's, and you have max chemistry on an already OP lineup.

In ranked just now, just hit a 2 run bomb that would have made it 5-1 in the 5th inning. Before the ball hits the stands, the user powered off their PlayStation. Of course the stats don't count.
But, should there be some sort of cooling off period where a player can't play online if they quit in ranked?
Would be hard to determine that versus a power outage or blip, unless SDS looks at people exiting suddenly then jumping right back in the game.
Thoughts?

What made them add pci shrinkage into the game? I’ve been told shrinkage wasn’t always a thing until the recent mlbs what was their logic behind putting this mechanic that makes no sense into the game?
r/MLBTheShow • u/BurntBox21 • 1d ago
This is mainly so I could make some room for the shortstops but I don’t know why not accepting a young player with good overall and potential was the choice here.

I just won a weekend classic game and then all of a sudden it said the game was tied on the scoreboard and then it said the stats don’t count it’s a friendly quit when there was never even an offer.

Yes I use meter , but it said good release and then at the end it says released late , am I doing something wrong besides using meter pitching lmao
r/MLBTheShow • u/Disastrous_Assist_13 • 1d ago
Does pitching feel really off this weekend classic or is it just me ? Perfect perfect release and it just doesn’t go there , not the warping glitch but literally perfect pitches not going anywhere near Where the pitch was supposed to go
r/MLBTheShow • u/tacosalpastor363 • 1d ago
I swear those weekend classic pitch speeds are different.

This is my 2nd year playing the game and I finally made WS despite being middle aged with terrible reflexes 🫠 I hate that I care about this but this was HARD, man. So many times I got close. Earned it with a no hitter in the WC too.
