Hello everyone! I wanted to sound a reminder for people in SIS/MLIS who might've missed Prof. Benoit's e-mail about the upcoming survey regarding presence of AI in the program. As you might have had to deal with already, some mandatory courses now require use of generative AI and strongly push pro-AI narratives, overly focusing on it to the detriment of information on other relevant library technologies and often not discussing the environmental and ethical concerns.

There is no date set for the survey yet but he described in the e-mail that it should be coming in the next few weeks. Let's respond and let them know how we feel about this push within our program!

Why is it that every damn day almost, something is happening on LSU campus that resembles an uncontrolled environment? Rape, robbery, assault, fugitives, and disrespect. I am a very concerned parent at this point.

Lately, I’ve been hearing about the mistreatment of women and people of color and I am both a woman and black. I wanted to go to school for pre-vet Animal science and graduate early using the 3+1 plan. I‘ve been accepted into other schools too. so, I have fall back plans if y’all think I shouldn’t go to LSU.
